Dear Steve Zahn, anytime you want to talk about That Thing You Do... I'm gonna click on it and click like. I have so many questions. I revisit this movie so much. Your stories fill in the gaps.
"That Thing You Do" is my favorite period musical flim of the '90s. It's amazing how they were able to make the title song sound like it could have been a hit single in 1965.
Absolutely correct! I graduated HS in 1964. This band, and their songs, would have topped anyone but you-know-who. The lyrics, the outfits, every detail is spot on, and those guys really rocked! Superb!
Love his movies --- or anything he's been apart of. My alltime favorite was "Joy Ride"......but, again, just love him in anything. (Sahara another Fav)
Who knew life truly imitated art, when a real hit by a fake band could hit the pop charts? It was the most poppiest tune out there since the monkees “last train to Clarksville”.
This is a great Movie man. It’s pure entertainment. It’s not some message on social bla, bla bla. Its fun to watch very time you watch it, with a happy ending and all.
@@chuckfan1 It's always best to be early and in ready to go then stumbling onto set at the last minute. Maybe 15 miniutes is a bit extreme but 5 minutes is perfect.
For what it's worth, as someone who has been habitually late most my life, I found that I underestimate how long it takes me to do a number of things. So to help my chronic tardiness, I did the following: 1. I add at least 10-15 min to the amount of drive time anywhere when planning for commutes. This helps counter some mild traffic and stoplights as well as possible load time. 2. I found myself often starting projects that while helpful and mentally stimulating were not priorities and can be giant time vacuums. Do your best not to start these near times when your time is accountable to others. 3. Not sure the full aspects of your lateness, but another of my timing issues dealt with preparation for public performances. I was pushing event start times because I thought that I could finish preparations the morning of an event. The best solution for this was to make sure that I completed all tasks for preparation at least the day before, if not earlier. Reduce last minute tasks unless absolutely necessary. Hope that helps and god speed!
@@bransonwinslett5461 thank you! A lot of these are introspective, which i think is something I've been lacking. Good advice overall to knock down those things. Should help me be mindful of the other issues
The Wonders career had peaked and the members had different life priorities. It would be very difficult to script a sequel without resorting to a lame reunion storyline.
Well, TTYD was created, written and directed by Tom Hanks so I think basically it just comes down to whether or not Tom Hanks wanted to do a sequel. Obviously his career is going great without a sequel, it was widely acclaimed critically, so my guess is he just feels he'd have nothing to gain with a sequel.
That said I do think there could be a good sequel done about the phenomenon of oldies/classic rock bands going on tour in the 80s/90s and whether or not they can recapture the magic even one night at a time.
Being late is a horrible habit to develop. No excuse for it , that's why you leave early. Notice how it's always the same ones that do that. Employers see a irresponsible, immature problem they KNOW they will have to get rid of eventually.

It’s my favorites movie…period.
One of the best movies ever.
That’s what Dad taught me about Sunday morning and going to church.
If we weren’t 10m early, we were late.
I love that the interviewer vouches for him at the end.

Rule Number One: Don't Waste Other People's Time. Right on, Tom (and Steve).
"Hey guys, that's the last time you show up late not just for this movie , for the rest of your life." Zahn should have said, I make no guarantee's."
He really was Mr White to them
I liked that him and tom in You've got Mail too.
My most favorite movie of all time ❤️❤️❤️
If I interviewed him, I would've asked him the hard hitting questions like "did your hog in the livestock pavillion get the blue ribbon?"
Love you all..💘💘💘
If you're on time, you're late. Arrive anywhere 10 min early anywhere you go ..whether its work or personal and life is good.

Captain Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters!
If you're not 15 minutes early you're late.
Wrong
Up until 1 minute before, your ok..anything after that, THEN your late... don't overthink it

The way I was raised, 15 mins early is not only professional, it's considerate and shows respect for other's.
Steve, you steal pretty much every scene in That Thing You Do!
Any tips for someone who's (often) late?
Uh, leave home a little earlier.
@@chasbodaniels1744 thanks do*che I'll really take that into consideration. Honestly never thought about that

How is it he looks older and younger than me at the same time?

Gen Z calls it "time blindness". 🤦♂️ Couldn't make that up if I tried.
She's terrible. Look at your subject when he talks.
