The reason why this is the best album from LP. Chester, raps, sings Mike raps, sings Instrumental experiments. Transition from one song to another. Finally, the messenger ❤️
Minutes to midnight is the countdown to nuclear war. A thousand sun's is nuclear war. The album was heavily influenced by public enemy's "fear of a black planet" The recording in the radiance is from one of the guys in the Manhattan project that designed the atom bomb. Wisdom justice and love is Martin Luther King Jr. Also iridescent album version is longer and better than music video version.
in the song The Radiaence its Oppenheimer talking about making an atomic bomb... this album is so called concept album. All songs connected talking about the end of the world. Masterpiece!
I'm glad you appreciated this album more than Minutes to Midnight. This album was received very negatively back when it released but nowadays, a lot more people appreciate this album for what it is and a lot of Linkin Park fans consider this to be their best album But how many times did you call Wretches & Kings "Wrenches & Kings" lol
When this album first came out, everyone hated it because it didn't sound like OG Linkin Park. I've been a fan since Hybrid Theory and I still think this is their best album
The amount of people that hated this back in 2010, and now consider it to be their best work is incredible. This album was vastly misunderstood by critics and fans alike.
This album had been out a couple years before I first listened to it, but I was one of the few that fell instantly in love with it. (Honestly I love everything Linkin Park has done.) It makes me laugh when so many people listen to it and they’re like “This is crap! It doesn’t sound like their other albums!” Because it’s like they anticipated that complaint in ‘When The Come For Me’ - “'Cause once you got a theory of how the thing works Everybody wants the next thing to be just like the first” Every time I heard someone complain about that I’d just tell them “y’all ought to stop talking and start trying to catch up, motherforker!” 😂
Just so you know they collaborated with Hanz Zimmer for this album who composes music for Christopher Nolan movies , Lion King , DC cinematic universe etc
Their best album, imo. Instrumentally - very experimental, vocally - amazing. My favourite vocal performances from Mike are "Wretches And Kings", "Iridescent" & "The Catalyst". Chester deserves more credit for his incredible singing (especially on "Blackout", "Waiting For The End", "Robot Boy", "Wretches And Kings", "Iridescent" & "The Messenger"; his Japanese-style singing on "When They Come For Me" is also good) "Jornada Del Muerto" features the Spanish-style vocals, and the words of it transitioned to English mean: "Left me up, let me go!" (so they borrowed the lyrics for it from "The Catalyst"; same with "The Requiem"). In meanwhile, "Fallout" borrows the lyrics from "Burning in The Skies" They used the samples Of speeches from three diferent politicians; Martin Luther King ("Wisdom, Justice & Love"), Robert Oppenheimer ("The Radiance") & Mario Savio ("Wretches And Kings")
@@KnightReacts New Divide is not included in any album, its just a single for Transformers 2, dont forget to check out, for me it is the best song from Linkin Park ever!
Amazing reaction man! A thousand suns is my second favorite album behind Meteora. It has the best album listening experience but is a bit weak track wise In my opinion. Also fallout was supposed to perfectly transition into the catalyst. But the music video is a cut shortened version of the song so that's why it didn't line up.
i know im kinda late but The Radiance is the famous Oppenheimer quote, thats the scientist who lead the building of the atomic bomb. and the whole album is about atomic war basically but u can interpret it in different ways
The music video for iridescent is kind of annoying. The studio version is different, and in my opinion has much better pacing. It is longer but the instrumental is much more impactful.
For When They Come For Me, Chester was a bigger part than you may realize. He was doing the "Ahhs" in the Chorus and the breakdown at the end. And live, he would play some of the drums while doing those vocals. Overall, this album is awesome. People hated on it when it released, but now I think its generally considered up there wirh Hybrid Theory and Meteora (at least for me, it is).
This album is my favorite album by them and also their best, imo. Also, this album was nominated for Best Alternative Rock Album at the Grammy’s that year. Unfortunately, it did not win.
This entire album is definitely about nuclear warfare. You can find dozens of references to it all throughout the album. Depending on how you interpret it, it can be about the two bombings in Japan, or it could be about a not too distant apocalyptic future where societal unrest and government oppression leads to a climax, where nuclear war breaks out and the remnants of humanity that survived must restart a new and better world.
Diamond: Burning In The Skies, Waiting For The End, Iridescent, The Catalyst Win / good: Robot Boy, Blackout, Wretches And Kings, The Messenger Lose / Bad = Empty Spaces (such a boring interlude imo) Mid = The Radiance, When They Come For Me, Wisdom, Justice And Love Interlude: The Requiem, Jornada Del Muerto and Fallout
also i think this album was about the atomic bomb that went off in Hiroshima, in like 1940 or whatever, yeah i don't really know much about war topic type stuff, but that's from what i heard.
So yeah, this album and all of the albums after Meteroa basically got reviewed bombed by the people who wanted nothing but the style they had on the first two albums. Personally, I say it's good they switched up the style. It's refreshing. Even the more meh albums of theirs are way better than most music released today (except for One More Light but we don't talk about that.)
This album got a lot of hate because they changed their style from nu metal/alternative to electronica and old lp fans hated that. I've been a fan since the beginning and this immediately became my favorite album by them and it still is. Albums like this where each song transitions to the next and each song tells a chapter in an overall larger story, we call these concept albums. This is up there with Dark Side of the Moon and American Idiot in my opinion. I disagree with you about Iridescent though. I think it's a fantastic song and reminds me a lot of U2's Joshua Tree album. But I know that's just preference.
I really disagree with you about Iridescent just like I disagree with your vote on Bleed It Out on the last album. Iridescent was beautiful to me as well as to many fans and listeners and Bleed It Out was a chart topper of a song. It's really favourited by a lot of LP fans.
Dont know if u liked paradise by coldplay but there is a fire slow fanmade remix of waiting for the end x paradise…. After binge watching these lp albums gonna reach for coldplay ones
Let me tell you something I realized recently: If the album is good even when you’re in a bad mood, then this album is truly amazing, but if the albums isn’t able to make you feel something in your bad mood, then there’s no guarantee that this album is gonna make you feel something in a good mood, so… Imagine Dragons, you have failed this exam.
There are people who really have ADHD, but most of the kids are normal kids, but big pharma wanted to make money with kids. So i hope you dont need to take meds or dont take them. Many young people are that way now. We live in the age of social media, tiktok, games, youtube etc. Everyone get much much information in short times.
I tried meds when I was younger for my ADHD but my body couldn’t metabolize them so it would only give me major headaches and never actually helped. And ya Social media got everyone self diagnosing themselves and faking ADHD like it’s a great thing to have lol
I don't completely dislike this album, But it doesn't really have anything that stands out to me apart from Waiting For The End and The Catalyst which are fantastic tracks. It's definitely better than Minutes To Midnight as a cohesive album, But I'd listen to the songs on that one more than this one. I prefer the next two albums coming up a lot more tbh
I think the hunting party is extremely underrated, wouldnt say its their best album but songs like rebellion, a line in the sand, until its gone, guilty all the same, wastelands and final masquerade are such bangers (ok final masquerade mb not a „banger“ but a beautiful bit slower song) and whatever song i missed here

Yeah. Their concept album. Every song suits each other. Everything about it is so good
this album is their best project no doubt, also chester was apart of the chorus and end singing, in When They Come For Me
Minutes to midnight is the countdown to nuclear war. A thousand sun's is nuclear war.

Linkin Park has OST for the first three Transformers movie: What I've Done, New Divide and Iridescent.
I remember "What I've Done" but not the other 2 in the movies lol

Just a correction for The Dark of the Moon. Primus is a Transformers GOD, the original Prime. The bad guy was SENTINEL Prime 😂 Very different
