  • 👋In todays video we go over 1 week having the 2024 Lexus GX550! This is such a cool SUV and we were able to do a lot with it to really test what it would be like to own. From a road trip to the mountains, to towing and daily activities, we got a great understanding of what this SUV has to offer!
    This is a highly anticipated luxury focused suv from Lexus that a lot of people have been waiting for! This 2024 Lexus GX550 is the Premium Plus, so one step up from the base model. There are also a total of six different trim levels to choose from including two that will be more offroad focused! The 2024 Lexus GX550 will have two variants as well including a GX550h which should be coming later this year! The 2024 Lexus GX550 is a mid/full size SUV that is luxury focused and built for a lot of capabilities!
    The exterior for this Lexus GX550 has a boxy and bold look! It mimics the original versions with the modern twist and has great proportions all around! The 2024 Lexus GX550 Premium Plus comes with cameras, fixed side steps, a rear glass that opens individually from the lift gate and roof racks! The interior for this 2024 Lexus GX550 has some nice materials with the leather seats and all the trim accents! It really gives you that luxury vibe and also provides you with a lot of standard safety technology!
    Driving the all new 2024 Lexus GX550 was great! This is so comfortable and quiet, the suspension is great! You can feel some of the body roll, but it's not bad for the stock suspension. The power is good and the exhaust sounds good with a minor acceleration! Being my first time behind the wheel, I was very impressed with it's overall drive. You sit high up, great view all around. The digital camera for the rear view is an option and standard on higher trim levels, so that's nice to see! But very nice and I could see this being a great daily driver and one that is practical and very capable for being an SUV and providing you with a great platform! Lexus did a great job and the demand for this SUV has been crazy! Just at my local dealer alone, I've seen well over twenty people and the dealer has a wait list of more than 100! Get on the list now to reserve your 2024 Lexus GX550!!
    Also this GX550 has a locking differential in the center and a full time four wheel drive system. The interior is modern with the newest screens and tech, but is still simple to use like a Lexus should be. While this has synthetic leather it feel very nice and should be pretty durable. I love how boxy it feels and that roofline gives the GX a cool interior feeling! The dash is very flat and easy to see, but allows for a great view out the windshield. The hood even dips down in the center so you can see the trail ahead and the large bulges on the side help you place the GX550 off road. For sure the new 2024 Lexus GX is going to be a popular luxury SUV and gain traction like any Range Rover or Mercedes G wagon as an off road luxury SUV thats super desirable! I can see buying a new Land Cruiser, and then when I want more luxury, going for the GX550 as my family SUV! In this video, we take a look at the new Lexus GX550 Premium and give you my first impressions. We cover the start up, walkaround and interior look of the 2024 GX550 Premium, as well as giving you a review and first impressions. If you're looking for a new luxury SUV to drive, be sure to check out the Lexus GX550! This car has a lot of features that make it stand out from the crowd, and our video will give you a good overview of what you can expect.The 2024 Lexus GX550 Premium can also tow 8,000 pounds, weighs in at 5,500 pounds, produces 349 horsepower/479 pound feet of torque and runs on a 21 gallon fuel tank. You can expect 15 mpg I the city and 21 in the highway and even do 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. The all new 2024 Lexus GX550 will be an awesome SUV to buy and drive and ranges in price from $64k to $81k for all of the trim levels.

    I just finished a 10 hr trip to the red river gorge in KY in my 2024 BMW X5 M60 and drove off road to get to cabin every day. No issues and got 24 mpg in a 525 bhp V8 that is faster and handles better than GX. That tank and MPG is so low in the GX.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  4 месяца назад +3

      Well the M60 isn't the on the same level, so that's not a fair comparison. The GX doesn't have that performance and it's not trying too.. This GX handled great for the mountain roads we took it on. MPG isn't as good which is surprising, but X5 or GX are both great options.

    My mom has had an X5 40i xdrive since 2020, and I like it so much I'd consider buying a CPO one. Two things I dont like about the GX. First, lots of truck like body roll. Seeing you take some of those corners reminded me of my Ranger Tremor that I traded for a Honda Passport for a more refined driving experience. I dont think I could go in the opposite direction again in terms of driving refinement. Second, the windowsill arm rest is practically non-existent. That's where I usually rest my left arm/elbow, and in the GX it's like half an inch wide... Not very comfortable, reminds me of my 2010 Acura RDX. Strange design because the Land Cruiser sibling has a nice wide one, and the GX460 did too.

    I have a 2024 X5 50e and I haven’t noticed fan noise while charging. It’s hot here in NM as well. I rarely need to get gas, love that and in full electric so quiet. I like the GX but I wish I liked the interior more. And I wish the panoramic sunroof opened.

    I drove these 2 back to back the x5 handles way better than the GX. And comparing the mpg, Lexus miss the mark on this one. I currently have a RX350 have about to have baby #2 might look at x7 (if money is no object). But Grand Highlander or TX is something that fit the bill for me.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  4 месяца назад

      X7 is a cool choice! We've had a TX as a press vehicle. Very nice family SUV. Roomy and comfortable and pretty efficient. That'd be a good choice. I like the GX for its utility, towing and off roading. So it'd be a bit different use then the X5 being primarily a road vehicle.

    I’m going to be in market soon for new wheels. Good video. X5 and GX on my radar. Had x5 years ago. Could have been my favorite suv I’ve ever had except reliability I’m convinced w bmw once you hit 60-70k miles someone in Germany presses a button and the car starts bleeding oil or something. I’ve been reading where the new x5 reliability has improved a lot is that safe to say? I’m in sales so I drive a lot and don’t want a gas guzzling cumbersome vehicle either. The gx looks beautiful but again new drivetrain engine etc. long term reliability unknown right now I guess.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  4 месяца назад +1

      Yeah I think 2020 and up the X5 is pretty solid. I believe it's number 1 in reliability in its class. We'll be selling ours before the warranty expires tho. I don't trust the hybrid system past that. But if we go X5 again I won't get a hybrid. So we'll see but the GX might be what we go with!

Maybe because we had no radio on, etc. but seemed to remind of the louder engine whine I used to have in my 4Runner........like it was straining a little.

      As a non-truck-frame vehicle ("crossover"), the X5 is expected to have MUCH better driving manners, ride comfort and NVH compared to a car like the GX. They are inherently different products so it comes down to what you really want in a car. If it's a daily driver used for commuting, a CUV will always be the more luxurious choice compared to a similarly priced truck-frame SUV.

    If you had the X5 m40i, there’s no way a GX550 would hold a candle to the BMW but these are apples to oranges comparison.

    The newer X5s, especially the X5 xDrive50e is incredible. 0-60 in 4.5, way more features than the GX550, much nicer ride quality, better handling, and 58 mpg. To me the GX550 really shines if you do a lot of off-roading or overlanding or camping, but outside of that I'm doubtful. It's louder, gets worse mileage, worse handling, worse acceleration, and the screen on the Lexus sucks.
