I'll never forgive the Republicans who failed to convict Trump in the Senate after January 6. I mean, I won't forgive them for not convicting him the first time, either, but the second time is REALLY galling.
Mitt Romney is a good example of this. Yes, he has been against Trump since he came into office, but he also voted along party lines the entire time except for voting for Trump's impeachment, once. So what if he is anti-Trump? He STILL voted along with everyone who was pro-Trump, which was most of the GOP.
The only reason Romney has started speaking out recently is that he is retiring. He's been a good Republikkklan his whole career. So what if he talks shit about Trump now. He's still a POS out to enrich himself even more.
He voted for impeachment twice and worked behind the scenes against trump. But, that doesn't mean he wasn't part of the web of deceit. Though I fear he was a fly, not a spider.
It is honestly every single republican in the country. You can point fingers at individuals, but the right wing- at it's fundamental core- is the problem. Trump is a president, they last at most 8 years (unless he gets his way). Congress (essentially, given the number of geriatrics in it) is for life. All the problems in the country are at their feet, not the president. The petulant republican party of today isn't anything new. They were stone walling nearly EVERY SINGLE bipartisan or democrat legislation for decades before the likes of Boebert, Gaetz, Santos, and MTG ever even considered running for office. They were just quiet about it. McConnell has been stacking the supreme court since the day he entered office back in the 60s. Steve Shives is 100% correct. This isn't any one public figures issue, it is the entire party itself.
I find it hilarious when they try to tell us that they are against Trump but they are still 100% Republican. That is a difference without a distinction. They are all human filth.
Some of this anti-trump nonsense is being generated by the Republican party. Who know that their base are in danger of not voting a straight Republican ticket. They want to try and pretend there is some difference between them and Trump when there actually isn't any. They are doing this to save their pathetic vicious party of miscreants, morons and losers.
Well F’n said. The party began creating Trump long before he came down that escalator. He just grew beyond their control. I hope millions see this video. Again, well said.
Hanity and the ''Fox Hoax News'' is the problem. These MAGA-NUT's refuse to change it off that channel and until they do, we have no way of letting them know the real world truth because Hanity and Trump have told them all other news including RUclips is fake! We are stuck with these Hick-o-Bob's and Maga-Karen's! They even send their kids to, "Red State Private eVangelicow Schools," that teach hate or terror & nothing about God.
Farron cousins said the same. People like the GA sec of state and Bill Barr know he's a criminal publicly and yet publicly announced their support for the îńbrēd cause
@@modelermark172 The difference being, the monster (Frankenstein) wasn't really that bad, though I think he did make a few bad decisions but, I digress.
110% correct. All these former aides and cabinet members are only coming out now cause that's how long it took to write a tell all book about it so they can get money from it.
"But they criticise him and tried to stop him privately, you have to forgive them." "Then they can be forgiven privately." - (badly paraphrased) Stephen Colbert
Some of this is simply an effort to not lose their party voting for Republican candidates in Senate and Congressional races when they know many of them don't like Trump anymore. It's a pretend we're not exactly like Trump scheme.
Bang on rant, I love it. I'm so tired of Republicans with shocked Pikachu face when the nightmarish dystopia they helped to create finally comes to fruition.
These Republicans who, only now, have decided to feign outrage at Trump for being the crook he has been since at least his five draft deferments for “bone spurs” remind me of Captain Renault in “Casablanca”: “I am shocked-shocked, I say-to hear that there is gambling going on in this establishment.” As these Rightists are yet speaking, the attendant is bringing them their winnings from the table. They’ve known about him for years, if not decades, yet they made sure they waited until they made their millions off of him to even mention anything.
Exactly. Look how quickly the left embraced trumps former lawyer once he turned on Trump. All these “anti Trump” republicans are hoping they’ll do the same for them. Sorry, but his former lawyer can eat shit, along with every one of these republican shitstains that didn’t reject Trump from the beginning.
I mean there are a lot of people who are calling them out now and have been for a while. But this guy is eloquent and does it in a way that inspiring to listen to.
Not to spam, but I just wished to second M Jons recommendation for Beau's channel. He does a great job covering many things, especially international issues IMO, and brings a good dose of skepticism.
My son, a Marine veteran, finds Kelly to be an embarrassment to the Corps. Thank you for this one especially. And thank you for ending it the way you did. A lot of vets find "thank you for your service" to be condescending. Well done, Sir!
As a Marine vet myself, Kelly was the tip of the iceberg. Republicans have no idea what’s coming with the military vote. Semper FI to your boy. I thank him for being in the trenches and leaving no one behind.
@@studiodsr Shh. It's not necessary to be sensitive over somebody being sensitive. Pick your fights. Note - I served ten years. When I get "thank you", it's a little awkward, because it was very much my honor and privilege, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Stay well.
@@studiodsr It can be. I'm a veteran. I feel insulted when some MAGA fartsack thanks me for my service. I wouldn't have served at all if it wasn't for the fact that it's the only way for a lower-income lower-class person to get a post-secondary education when there aren't enough academic scholarships to go around, or guaranteed healthcare in a country that doesn't give a shit about your health. They thank me for my service, but they have gleefully voted against everything I stand for and, while they're at it, gutted support services that were part of the fucking package when I signed up. Even when I don't know their political inclinations, "Thank you for your service," feels like a virtue signal. And, when it isn't, it feels like misplaced hero worship in a country where service members are given too much clout, when most of these served because they were brainwashed through a childhood of propaganda or desperate due to poverty. It's one of the many underpinnings of fascism. So, it's not so much that "thank you for your service" is bad as it's that "thank you for your service" reveals and reminds of things that are bad.
@@studiodsr It is about context. It should be a good thing, but there have been so many speeches praising the military organizations by politicians that clearly don't give a damn about the military personnel that it tends to come across as absurdly insincere.
🙏🏽Thank you... especially for your absolute candor!! These grown azz men acting as though they have no responsibility for Trump even though without them, Trump wouldn't have gotten to this point. Kelly allowed his racism to cloud his judgment about the totality of Trump!!
When I hear those people getting torn a new one so efficiently and passionately, it gives me goosebumps. I love that you don't hold back. Voices like yours are so valued. Thank you for telling it like it is. 👏🏽👏🏽
For what though... Those people will likely never see this, and by chance a few do, they'll just completely ignore it because they have no shame. Speeches like this move no needles, he's performing to the choir, a dangerously small bubble, the last few years have proven that.
As their ship is sinking, the Republicans are trying to take a slight step inches away from Trump while doggedly clinging to all of the racism, misogyny and garbage that defines them. If someone wants to leave that party, I say welcome, if someone wants to stay in that party and tell us they're not voting Trump, I say gfy I don't believe you. You're a liar and a traitor.
I am ashamed to say I used to be a Republican. But I'm glad that my eyes were opened by my former party actually nominating Trump. I went down to city hall the VERY next day and reregistered to vote to change my affiliation.
That, as well as dismantling our institutions, our economy, our military, our elections, our democracy, & our rule of law. Where the hell are any repubs, advocating for the dangers our democracy faces? Not a f'ing peep!
Exactly and some say they would vote for him again. See New Hampshire Governor, Sununu. Last month he hated Trump and now says he will absolutely vote for him if he's in the general election. Sick f's!
He said what they felt but were afraid to say but now his narcissism and lack of a filter is imploding the republican party and they don't know how to control his impulsivity, are too self-centered to have a united front, and get picked off one by one if they don't tow the line.
It works, look at the left wing pundits and comments on left leaning sites about Chris Christie. You would think he was a regular, upstanding dude now from some of these idiots because he is taking on Trump. They completely forget all the same behavior as Trump when he was in office.
This is one of the most spot on videos that I've ever experienced. I'd just love to forward this to all of the people that I know that are Trump supporters but it unfortunately wouldn't do any good. This whole situation is OUT OF CONTROL. MAGAS unbelievable level of stupidity, self-delusion and idiocracy is absolutely beyond my comprehension. I'm so glad that I live in Canada but I have a terrible feeling that if Trump wins the 2024 election, the entire world will suffer. Subscribed! 4:38
Steve Shives is someone I really enjoy the more I see him. Dead on target. His bits about Republicans saying the quiet parts out loud, not to be missed
Thanks for the truth! Thanks to Trump I am now a Democrat. Also one member of my family is voting against Trump, and did so last year. Will do so again this year, rest of family still drinking Trump's koolaide!
WoW! You are the most courageous American I’ve heard in a long time. Kudos for stepping up and telling it like it is. From north of the 49th I’ve watched in disbelief how gullible the American people are to allow the most successful democracy in the history of civilization to implode from within. It’s tragic on many levels but honestly, American politics is a swampland populated by unscrupulous corporations and those that bend to their will. Great video!
Wow, I think I'm in love. What a truth teller. Best rant I've heard in a while. Amen Brother! I am shocked by how close hearted the Republicans in family have become.
I have continually screamed into the ether that Trump did not hijack the rethuglican party. He was just stupid enough to say all the quiet parts out loud.
Trump did actually hijack the Republican Party but the problem is it was ripe for the taking all along. That’s the frustrating part. And when he put on full display his fascistic tendencies not one Republican publicly spoke out against him. Not one. When it came time to save our country from an autocrat looking to destroy it for his own gain, they chose to side with the autocrat.
Agreed. They all want to blame him for everything. The Republican Party has been going down this road since Reagan. I am so glad someone is speaking what I’ve been shouting out. This guy has a new subscriber.
I also think had they not stupidly chosen DT (who they thought they could control), they would have, before we realized it, turned our country into a dictatorship. Not sure who would have been at the top but the richest 1% have done this for a reason.
Paul Wyrich, who worked with Jerry Falwell, said as much back in the early 1980s. That America would need a tyrant to enforce Christianity if we couldn't roll back the clock to the '50s working within the system. When same-sex marriage was legalized, that moment had arrived.
YES. The silence has been deafening from the republicans...they had MANY chances to denounce fascism. Now they are stuck. We MUST VOTE BLUE no matter who. We MUST.
I'm just going to break it down in a series of replies.. And just an argument for when you meet the so-called leftist who cares about Palestinian lives or the environment or women's rights or any of the leftist "talking points". (and I'm deliberately saying it like that because I don't believe them when they claim that excuse.) They'll babble about how they need more political parties. They'll babble about say .. Biden just authorized military weapons transfer. Biden didn't do enough for X. How, by voicing their discontent, they're telling the DNC to listen to them more. Their bs on Bernie's so -called popularity and how Bide was just another racist senator who needs to be punished for things he did when he was younger or whatever. see next comment
There's this idea that more parties means better representation. There's problems with this and any intelligent person will be able to see the loopholes very quickly. That's why I hate leftists who use this argument. 1. If you have a coalition government that is comprised of 6 parties, all of which have precisely the same number of delegates at the same power level, will that really change anything. Let's pick environmentalism. 5 conservative parties and 1 non-conservative parties. Probability = zero 4 conservative and 2 non-... Probability = zero 3 conservative ad 3 non... Probability = zero. (you're probably surprised. But look at it this way. 3 conservatives + 1 non conservative the fence non-conservatives who are dependent on oil and gas industries) It's only when we have 4 or preferably FIVE non-conservative parties that suddenly, the answer starts moving left and pro-environmental. So have I successfully demolished the "multiple parties" bs. It's basic logic.. It really does reduce to conservative or non-conservative. Those Tea Party members voted with Republicans. In fact, they were Republicans. And Manchin.. he votes Democrat. Sure. He's more conservative but take a hard look at the votes and suddenly, you like that guy. (We lose W. Virginia senate seats when Manchin leaves. His name is very popular. That means, if we don't pick up enough seats, and if Sinema (gets re-elected) and doesn't caucus with the Democrats, we lose the Senate. We really should be limiting the power of the Senate part of the legislative branch because it has too much influence. look at the European Union and that's where we need to get to because states need sovereignty so that Trump and other republicans don't screw blue states up.) And when we put in social dynamics, it's more helpful to have similar goals and values. Somebody who already thinks black people are people is going to understand that women are also people or something like that. That person has already started walking down a certain path. it doesn't take too much force to tweak the perspective if done well.
Biden just authorized military weapons. Now, this gets geopolitically very very messy. At this point, throw ethics and ideals out the window because it's about power and hegemony and resource access and control. They'll window dress with "Oh.. look at China with the Uighurs." Notice that Walmart still sells goods made in China. How fascinating the amount of actual action to hit China hard.. That's just words and I get it. It's impossible to unwind this relationship. You buy x good and part of it probably was made or sourced in China or some other place that has some human rights issues. It's not that we should just give up but we must be smart about how to resolve the situation. That's what Obama was trying to do with TPP trade agreements that would effectively isolate China and thus force economic pressure onto China. Naturally.. Trump cancelled that. So going back to Israel. America has always had a protective role with Israel. It's changing now. But let's not forget that Israel has nukes. Let's not forget that Israel, love it or hate it, is relatively stable in that region and doesn't hate the US. It's because of that long standing relationship that we can say some hard truths to the Israelis that would never be listened to if it came from say .. Iran. So why are we doing it? Some of it is financial. We have an industrial military complex. But Israel will destroy Palestine. So we leverage the weapons transfers to ensure that running water is available to Palestinians. No cease fire, but humanitarian aid and quiet periods are created. Remember, Israel is a sovereign nation. We can't just instigate a regime change. Are we really going to " bring democracy to the middle east" game again like Bush Jr tried? This is a snowball that has created an avalanche and now, all of the world is working to move that avalanche 1 mile out but the best we're achieving is one inch. It's horrific.. So what's the other option.. kill every Palestinian? Because Israel could do that. It's not like they don't have the capability before October 7th happened. Oh.. and do we really want this conflict to expand beyond Israel/Palestine? How many more countries? Nukes? Terrorists? Civilian casualties in say... Quatar for example. Sometimes, I hate myself for saying this, you cut off a bit to ensure the rest survives. (I find it very promising that other Middle Eastern countries are keeping a lid on the outrage and affirming they won't attack.. even Iran has taken a step back.) Do not underestimate how bad it could be. Think of the entire Middle East in conflict. So it's not that I don't care. I do. But safely de-escalate and calm down so we can re-assess and try to build something.. I'm pretty sure the 2 state solution is gone btw. And I don't like the weapons transfers. It's just I get it. I don't live in some romantic dream. I live in reality. A reality where I strongly suspect that Bibi knew that October 7th attack would happen (Egypt warned Israel) and he wanted this attack to expand Israel. I also believe that Putin might have had a role in it because if our eyes are on the Middle East, what's happening in Ukraine? (It's Putin/Russia to Iran to Hamas.) See. it gets crazy.
last one.. The sweet leftists have no idea about how the US government works. I find them rather distressing. Their too authoritarian and pro-dictator. Sometimes, it seems they would have liked Trump if Trump were a leftist dictator. How exactly can any President do what they desire him to do? Checks and balances anyone? Executive orders? "forgetting " and playing some Iran/contra game like Reagan? Oh.. and meddling in other countries more than we already do? Their hysterical demands break the fundamental system of governance in the US. How do you demand a cease fire with another sovereign entity. Obama had a months in his first term and then, he lost the senate. From that point on, the republicans sabatoged him and worked to make Obama a one term president. They then spent another 4 years attacking him and attacking Hillary Clinton who was and still is the most attractive presidential candidate in terms of sheer experience and achievements. I mean, if you're hiring an employee, you want a Hillary Clinton resume rather than Bernie or Trump or many other candidates These morons also don't understand why Biden is compelling as a candidate. They seem to forget that 30% are rabid trumper conservatives. Tack on a few more percentages of voters who lean right. Then, look at Biden. What's the worst things that Trump and the Republicans accuse him of? Of being old? Notice they don't describe him as evil demonic or whatever. They tried the pedo thing but it doesn't really stick. They tried the "When Biden was 30 years old he did x racist thing/sexist thing" and 1. I would hate to be judged by who I was when I was 30 and 2. Is present day Biden an evil man? I mean, when we hear the recording of how he loves his son, that seems rather ... nice. I wish my dad had said that kind of stuff to me. So they'll pull this conspiracy where the DNC cheated Bernie or something. Except that when you look at the votes, it was clear that the voters wanted moderates. The moment the other two moderate candidates dropped, Biden automatically gains them. It's like somebody who wants vanilla ice cream. Just because two brands of vanilla ice cream disappear from the aisle doesn't mean that this somebody will choose fried chicken or something. They want vanilla ice cream. So they'll buy the store brand. It wasn't some conspiracy. It was looking at those voter demographics as a whole rather than thinking it was some cult or something. Same for choosing Ms. Harris as VP. 1. I love the fact that Biden picked someone like her and 2. She's favorable to voters who lean conservative but can't quite go as far as Biden. so in the end, I'm voting blue and it's down that ballot. I'm trying to ensure that I get as many democrats elected. I'm trying to build an army in that government that can and does have the supply chain and the resources and the support to actually do something rather than...defend and hold against constant republican/conservative attacks. One person can't do it alone. But a blue whitehouse/blue senate/blue congress..and we flip some states.. oh .. suddenly, I'm getting very hopeful.
Some people say we shouldn't call them out because they might get mad and vote for Trump after all. That tells me they have no character and aren't making their decisions based on anything except momentary political opportunism. Essentially they are cowards.
Where have you been all my life? Holy shit! What a beautiful rant. I've been a Democrat all my life, so I'm used to being dissed by Republicans, but I have seldom - no NEVER been so glad to see someone online who is willing to speak the truth to power so nakedly, so truthfully, so forcefully. I loved every minute of it. You give me hope, my friend.
As a former republican, I'm not ashamed of the party... I'm ashamed of myself. I was born into that kool-aid and I drank it, turning my eye away when they did bad things because of some "greater good". In 2016... the second time I was eligable to vote, was the only time I voted Republican (the time prior to that I was told there was no point in voting because "they" already won, I drank the koolaid) I bought into some "Greater America" because I was told that "they" ruined it, thinking life could be better. It was very few months before I realized what "we" thought was a greater america and stepped out. I'm not ashamed of the party, they're doing what they don't say out loud, getting what they want... I'm ashamed I let myself not look outside the koolaid bowl until it was too late. Trump isn't the problem, he's the result. I will not vote for the problem ever again
I appreciate your self-reflection here but you do understand that ALL Rethuglicons are MAGAts now, don't you? Nobody would call McConnell a MAGAt but openly, proudly he said publicly he would vote for Dump again, if he ran. Your tribe is nothing but about power at all costs--screw the rules, balls-out, they lie, cheat & steal to get & hold power. Right behind Dump are dozens of pro-Putin, anti-democratic fascists that NOBODY is talking about. Look at red-ruled states as an example of where your tribe wants to go and even further back into 1800s, when only rich white male landowners could vote & kids didn't go to school but worked in deadly coal mines, women didn't even have status, they were objects. That's your party. Not just Dump. Big mistake to think that.
THANK YOU, STEVE!!! Had to watch this twice out of sheer enjoyment. You've summed up my feelings after years of that orange tick and his minions sucking the life out of this country, making it into the sh!thole country they accuse others of being. Hope they pay dearly.

It's great to hear this. We had a similar thing in the UK with Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage. People acted like they were some unique new brand of politician, but they were actually just a slightly more egregious, slightly more blatant version of the majority of right-wing politicians - basically no different from the average Tory plus a couple of whiskeys. What's very apparent from following US politics is that Trump has given many Republicans licence to be even worse than they were before. And that shouldn't be surprising. The reason people admire men like Donald Trump and Boris Johnson isn't because they think they're good people; it's because they envy and admire the kind of person who has so little shame that they can act like utter garbage and evade any meaningful consequence. It seems like there's a vile shitty part of really every conservative that secretly yearns to do something despicable and get away with it because they're the right kind of person. And you can see that in men like James Comer and Matt Gaetz, and in women like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert. They're not politicians - they're wannabe celebrities, just like Trump. But yes, while Trump may have tipped things a little further, the Republican Party has been a morally destitute open sewer for pretty much as long as I've been alive. No one has any business pretending to be surprised now.
As a life-long Star Trek fan, I love your Star Trek related content. But - and there's always a 'but' - your political content is where you really shine. Every bit of political content I've seen from you, you have been spot-on. And this video is no different. 👍
I have said for YEARS that anyone who voted for any Republican since Nixon won is in some small way complicit in where we've ended up. The sad fact is that this covers most people who are over a certain age, myself included. I voted for a Republican for my state attorney general once because he was wildly more qualified than the person running against him, and that guy made me regret it almost immediately. So that blood is on my hands, too.
I keep telling folks it all started with Nixon and has worsened with every Republican president since then. We appear to be reading the same history book. 💯
I have great respect for what you admit publicly. Most people can't, or won't accept responsibility and therefore change will not happen. You are on the right track. It is a huge mashinery that has poisoned Americans thinking and not one big incident, which makes it harder to detect. A lot of things, like book banning, or voting rights suppression etc. I didn't take serious, didn't believe, because America is protected by the Constitution and Democracy and Law and Order. I assumed that's what everyone respects, wants, at least respects. It didn't dawn on me, that there are people who do NOT want All people to be equal under the Constitution. Also Putin is smart and has a very effective propaganda machine! He doesn't need to attack America with soldiers, he just has traitors like Traitor Trump, or f.e., Traitor Tommy Tuberville boycott the US Military! Flooding social media with lies and deceit. Well, when RatpubliKKKans figured out the only way that anyone would vote for them is , if they're uneducated and stupid, backfired, because Putin was able to capture their minds and now these uneducated, gullible morons are now trying to destroy America and Democracy from within! Putin is one happy mofo. Not 1 shot fired and America is trying to self-destruct. Everything Traitor Trump and his MAGA RatpubliKKKan Cult are doing is great for Putin and Fascism and bad for America and Democracy!
I’ve voted Republican, too, in my life. There were a lot of us who have been duped and didn’t understand what was really going on. I’m 64. My dad voted for Ross Perot back in the day🎉🎉🎉 I don’t know if he was any good, but he wasn’t main stream
I wish all these people were forced to listen to this. Thank you for saying this out loud and in such a concise manner. I see so many interviews with these people and they are wilfully ingoring their own role in this. Cowards and hypocrites.
It all started with Reagan. On the surface, he’s been deemed the most popular president we’ve ever had, and even had support from the “Reagan Democrats.” I was but a child during his presidency, but I remember him. I’ve read about him slashing corporate taxes, cutting taxes to the wealthy, his anti union stance, and the laundry list goes on. Reagan even had support from the Evangelical base led by Paul Weyrich who said during a speech in which Reagan attended, “We don’t want everyone to vote.” Check it out. It’s clear why the modern GOP doesn’t want everyone to vote because if all eligible could, they wouldn’t be able to try and clamp down a Christo-Fascist dystopia they’re aiming to implement. They want to rule when they know the majority of Americans don’t support their policies, and it all started with Reagan, the most overrated president we ever had.
I blame him for thousands of deaths since he quietly supported the idea that HIV was a "gay disease" and somehow AIDS victims were less than others. I will never forgive him for that. He's the one who brought religion to the forefront of politics, too. There was that entire "family values" B.S. which is laughable. Even Trump, man of 4 wives, claims to have high family values. Riiiiight. I wonder how many of those former wives he was playing around on?
🎯 × 1M. 👏👏👏 Yes, and while he lowered taxes on his greedy rich donor class bffs, from 75% down to 25%, he raised mine 11 times!!! I kept getting raises at my good, secure union job, but Raygun had no problem taking all that money away from me. Transference of wealth has been going on since his reign & it has only gotten worse with the 5 reichwing sociopathic kings on SCOTUS with Citizens United declaring, "Hell yeah! Money is now speech."
Nixon is where it started. Karl Rove started his career in politics campaigning for Nixon - where he discovered the joys of push-polling. Reagan just took the shittiness to a (much) higher level.
You've recently done a few "if Republicans said the quiet parts out loud about..." videos. I really hope you didn't waste any time writing a "what if Trump started quoting Hitler out loud" video, because all the work is being done for you.
You nailed it on the head! Thanks! I'm so tired of uneducated conservatives being given a pass for their willful ignorance and choosing to believe what GOP politicians have to sell based on hate and fear, playing to that ignorance. And thanks for holding those to account for the actions that helped lead us down the path.
Wow! I may have to leave my husband of 40 years for you!!! Thank you, I have been singing this same song til I am blue in the face. Now I am on oxygen and the Republican Trumplicans are trying to steal that too! Thank you, I just came upon your video's. I am sharing with everyone.
I just hope the people around him THIS time when asked to cross a line actually SPEAK OUT IN REAL TIME AND journalists DONT WAIT TO REPORT IT 3 YEARS LATER IN A BOOK.
You are one in a handful people that truly brings the raw honesty! Very well stated, and much gratitude from the bottom of my heart. This country needs these truths, and yes, the fact people stood by Trump not saying a single peep (until years later) in my mind, makes them just as guilty as Trump. Where are our American backbones of this country besides its everyday citizens? Where are the true, and unselfish whistle-blowers?
Thank you for calling out republicans. Yes, some of them clutch their pearls when talking about trump, but the republican voting record the past 30+ years is equally reprehensible. And thank you also for calling out john kelly.
This rant gets to expressing so many of my own thoughts, and then some, as a 61 year old observer to your north. Nervously anticipating the potential spread of this American virus of Christian Fascism across the border. Man, how I wish John could get to watch this. His response would inform us significantly about his character.
Wow, I mean WOW! This fact based "news". I just found your channel, and it actually got me excited and proud to be American again. I hadn't felt a sense of pride in being American since the Bicentennial celebration, when I was just a young boy enthusiastically waving the tiny American flag at a charming small-town parade.Thank you, Sir!
Perfect. And perfectly obvious to those of us who could see the perfectly obvious since even before 2016. This needs to be seen by those 70 million who will never see it. Not that it would matter at this point. The majority of us need to end this madness in 2024 or say goodbye to a once great America. Vote!
Fun fact: What Trump Administration official is a member of the board for Caliburn, one of the largest companies involved with confining immigrant children ("kids in cages")?: John Kelly. THAT'S why he didn't say anything.
Beautiful speech Sir! I'm new to you and the internet, but I'm a lifelong Dem and liberal, and I agree with every word you said and feel every bit if the outrage. Excellent.
Because thats what conservatism is as a whole. I hate how people still see it as a fair and legitimate ideology, when its so clearly the reason behind so many of society's ills. To be conservative may not necessarily mean you're malicious or evil (that would be more the perview of fascists), but fundamentally, the ideology promotes stagnation and regression, and has always opposed progress at every turn. Conservatives were the ones to oppose feminism, racial equality, LGBT+ rights and acceptance, etc, and its time we delegitimize it in the eyes of the public. Because if we think this stops at republicans or modern day conservatives, then we doom ourselves with naivety.
Please don't refer to the fascists as conservatives, that just feeds into their narrative. They want to be perceived as a normal party and that us libs are just out to get them. They only things they are trying to "conserve" are racism and bigotry.
Preach! Let's not forget, Democrats offered Republicans multiple off ramps (two impeachments), and they all lined up behind the clown. Never forget.
Exactly! Totally agree!
never
Don’t forget the Turtle, with chew in his mouth, Mitch stopped it from happening!
I know I won't.forget any of all the posts that reference women's right to self control over their own bodies.
Or Liz Cheney that voted with repubs 97% of the time but was only anti-trump after the insurrection...
Bolton was too important to testify before the J6 committee
They created a monster, and the monster is now doing its own thing and no longer listening to them.
I find it hilarious when they try to tell us that they are against Trump but they are still 100% Republican. That is a difference without a distinction. They are all human filth.
Absolutely correct, Steve, some of us have been screaming this for 8 years
Some of this anti-trump nonsense is being generated by the Republican party. Who know that their base are in danger of not voting a straight Republican ticket. They want to try and pretend there is some difference between them and Trump when there actually isn't any. They are doing this to save their pathetic vicious party of miscreants, morons and losers.
This is exactly what needs to be said, and the way it needs to be said - I just wish it could be said on cable news for ALL to hear.
Thank you sir.
FKN-A 🤣
I remember once reading about a gentleman named Dr. Victor Frankenstein who had the same problem . . . .
Farron cousins said the same. People like the GA sec of state and Bill Barr know he's a criminal publicly and yet publicly announced their support for the îńbrēd cause

The difference being, the monster (Frankenstein) wasn't really that bad, though I think he did make a few bad decisions but, I digress.
110% correct. All these former aides and cabinet members are only coming out now cause that's how long it took to write a tell all book about it so they can get money from it.
"But they criticise him and tried to stop him privately, you have to forgive them."
"Then they can be forgiven privately."
- (badly paraphrased) Stephen Colbert
Perfectly said, exactly how I feel about these former administration officials who expect to be treated as heroes.
Some of this is simply an effort to not lose their party voting for Republican candidates in Senate and Congressional races when they know many of them don't like Trump anymore. It's a pretend we're not exactly like Trump scheme.
You are exactly right Steve. Good for you to speak the truth🥰🇨🇦
Couldn't have put it any better if I tried.
Only guy calling out the entire conservative movement and the only guy who is right.
Not the only but one of the few using the common mans language.
I mean there are a lot of people who are calling them out now and have been for a while. But this guy is eloquent and does it in a way that inspiring to listen to.
I'd also recommend Beau of the Fifth Column - his RUclips channel is excellent.
Not to spam, but I just wished to second M Jons recommendation for Beau's channel. He does a great job covering many things, especially international issues IMO, and brings a good dose of skepticism.
Thank you, Steve Shives! Continue calling these fools out!
Mr. Shives nailed it! That was 43 years of America's history in 9:30 minutes.
Yes, why would MAGA let facts get in their way?! This is indeed a dangerous spot for America and democracy 😢
These are people who bent over backwards to say that Trump was more moral than Obama. Um...
Wait, telling a vet “thank you for your service” is bad?
Wow I have never heard "Thank you for your serviced" used in such a scathing way. Keep it going Steve!
This guy is spot on!!!!!
🙏🏽Thank you... especially for your absolute candor!! These grown azz men acting as though they have no responsibility for Trump even though without them, Trump wouldn't have gotten to this point. Kelly allowed his racism to cloud his judgment about the totality of Trump!!
Kelly is a perfect Rethuglicon--full of hatred.
The entire Republican party has devolved into the "we're all trying to find the guy who did this" meme.
Except his actual co-conspirators.
Jim Jordan, Comer and the House Speaker come to mind.
They think they found the guy, buy they're usually blaming democrats
“We’re very close to finding the Democrat who did this!”
If only that were so. Most of the Party supports him.
They're also the sign of a No'd out Garfield while Garfield thinks "I wonder who that's for" meme
I am ashamed to say I used to be a Republican. But I'm glad that my eyes were opened by my former party actually nominating Trump. I went down to city hall the VERY next day and reregistered to vote to change my affiliation.
Oh my goodness! Thank you for saying it all out loud. Truth is powerful but it gets buried by the garbage rhetoric from the GOP.
"Anti-Trump Republicans" had no problem voting with him and supporting him all throughout the Trump presidency.
Exactly!
That, as well as dismantling our institutions, our economy, our military, our elections, our democracy, & our rule of law.
Where the hell are any repubs, advocating for the dangers our democracy faces? Not a f'ing peep!
Primarily "anti-trumplethinskin" only if the doors are closed and lights are off.
Exactly and some say they would vote for him again. See New Hampshire Governor, Sununu. Last month he hated Trump and now says he will absolutely vote for him if he's in the general election. Sick f's!
Kinsinger, cheney... yeah. Such "strong republicans".
It's really funny and amazing they think by disowning trump they think they're exonerated of what they helped him do
they were doing it before trump so trump is just a symptom
He said what they felt but were afraid to say but now his narcissism and lack of a filter is imploding the republican party and they don't know how to control his impulsivity, are too self-centered to have a united front, and get picked off one by one if they don't tow the line.
It works, look at the left wing pundits and comments on left leaning sites about Chris Christie. You would think he was a regular, upstanding dude now from some of these idiots because he is taking on Trump. They completely forget all the same behavior as Trump when he was in office.
Nice noted.
And liberal media trying to redeem them, like they tried with fucking Bush.
Former Republican here.I love your rants like this.
Welcome aboard my friend.
It's baffling that's where Kelly draws the line...and he didn't even draw it, it was drawn for him and he reacted to it.
Subscribed! 4:38
Yep, and now here we go. :-(
There needs to be a huge wave of blunt, 'to the point' commentary such as this across the national airwaves. Well said - thank you.
I'm applauding! Just what needs to be said, over and over and loudly!
Couldn't agree more. And it is entirely possible if we think Trump is beat then don't show up to vote. . . better vote. Better vote.
"RETHUGLICAN !" Exactly!
I also think had they not stupidly chosen DT (who they thought they could control), they would have, before we realized it, turned our country into a dictatorship. Not sure who would have been at the top but the richest 1% have done this for a reason.
That gave the base permission to be their worst.
Nobody has more courage than a Republican not running for reelection.
👏👏👏
Mike Pence now fits that description after his campaign ended. Is he as courageous as it gets? Of course not, he still is a massive coward and p-word.
😂😂😂😂 so true
Even then...
Nah, they still have to leave the party and denounce it publicly.
This needs to be shown on "all" news networks.
Well done telling it like it is.
Exactly. The GOP has been leading up to someone like Trump for decades.
Exactly. No surprise. The only surprise I feel is that any Rethuglicon is surprised by their own stupidity.
(and I'm deliberately saying it like that because I don't believe them when they claim that excuse.)
They'll babble about how they need more political parties.
Probability = zero
4 conservative and 2 non-... Probability = zero
3 conservative ad 3 non... Probability = zero. (you're probably surprised. But look at it this way. 3 conservatives + 1 non conservative the fence non-conservatives who are dependent on oil and gas industries)
It's only when we have 4 or preferably FIVE non-conservative parties that suddenly, the answer starts moving left and pro-environmental.
We really should be limiting the power of the Senate part of the legislative branch because it has too much influence. look at the European Union and that's where we need to get to because states need sovereignty so that Trump and other republicans don't screw blue states up.)
And when we put in social dynamics, it's more helpful to have similar goals and values.
I mean, if you're hiring an employee, you want a Hillary Clinton resume rather than Bernie or Trump or many other candidates
These morons also don't understand why Biden is compelling as a candidate.

This guy is saying exactly what I've not been able to put in words...
Most… lots of them actually say it out loud! They are loud and proud of what they do, and who they are! Think of Marjorie😮😮😮

Right behind Dump are dozens of pro-Putin, anti-democratic fascists that NOBODY is talking about.

Trumpism is the classical republicans quiet part out loud.
As another UK citizen, I agree with you completely. Very well articulated.
Preach it. Tell it like it is.
Spot on articulation of the insanity. Thank you for the catharsis this morning.
As a life-long Star Trek fan, I love your Star Trek related content.
But - and there's always a 'but' - your political content is where you really shine.
Every bit of political content I've seen from you, you have been spot-on.

My dad voted for Ross Perot back in the day🎉🎉🎉
I don’t know if he was any good, but he wasn’t main stream
@@susanrhodes9079. Absolutely 💯
I wish all these people were forced to listen to this.
Thank you for saying this out loud and in such a concise manner.
I see so many interviews with these people and they are wilfully ingoring their own role in this. Cowards and hypocrites.
God damn Steve youre good at it keep exposing these traitors. God bless you.
I agree never liked him as an actor either.
🎯 × 1M. 👏👏👏
Yes, and while he lowered taxes on his greedy rich donor class bffs, from 75% down to 25%, he raised mine 11 times!!!
Don't blame me, I voted for Carter.
Nixon is where it started. Karl Rove started his career in politics campaigning for Nixon - where he discovered the joys of push-polling. Reagan just took the shittiness to a (much) higher level.
Its always great to find a like minded individual. This was a master class rant. Pitch perfect. Would not change a thing. No notes.
You've recently done a few "if Republicans said the quiet parts out loud about..." videos. I really hope you didn't waste any time writing a "what if Trump started quoting Hitler out loud" video, because all the work is being done for you.
And the separation of little children from their parents!
Thank you Steve for all you are saying ❤
Steve has some of the best political talks on YT! Thanks, Steve!
The Republican Senators were particularly complicit.
And still are.
Well said. I also call out the Christians that aren't in support of the GOP and I wish more Christians would speak out against the religious right.
Don't count on it. Religious are the original cultists.
I’ve been saying this for decades! But you said it so succinctly and with just the right amount of anger and sarcasm! BRAVO and WELL DONE 👍
Thanks for your enthusiasm courage and patriotism
I'm starting to get the impression that Steve is not a Republican.
This is the first time I’ve watched this guy. He’s a Republican???
@@AmyReindlhe is most certainly not.
That is funny!! Having a good chuckle. 😁 Thanks.
@@AmyReindlThe dude is as left as it gets. He's farther left than most Democrat politicians.
😂😂😂
I blame Newt Gingrich and all those who allowed him to to lead.
Right! He was a total arse-wipe. Now I blame so many, but hold mitch mcconnel very accountalbe for so many wrongs. I curse these smug idiots.
100% concentrated truth ‼️ So refreshing to hear in a world so full of BS 🙏. Greetings from Oz 🇦🇺
Absolutely perfectly said! This needs to be shared and spread all over these internets!!!
I wholeheartedly agree and thank you for sharing this message.
Always on the Mark!
Your comments help keep this person in a semi-stable state, and I really appreciate that!!
Well said, Steve. First time I’ve heard someone hit the target so soundly.
Oh so true, these people should have filed all his criminality when he was in the wh. Why did they not say something then!
Damn. Nerding it up or laying it down, Steve, you drop some bombs. 👍
100% correct assessment of what America has become.
More accurately if the word America is replaced with GOP. And because they are human the Dems are not blameless by any stretch.
Perfect. And perfectly obvious to those of us who could see the perfectly obvious since even before 2016. This needs to be seen by those 70 million who will never see it. Not that it would matter at this point. The majority of us need to end this madness in 2024 or say goodbye to a once great America. Vote!
He never misses, the absolute legend
Excellent take down Steve, well done and so TRUE!!!
Bravo!! 👏👏👏
Fantastic rant!!!
"Thank you for your service" Oof! Fucking fantastic, Steve.
Fun fact: What Trump Administration official is a member of the board for Caliburn, one of the largest companies involved with confining immigrant children ("kids in cages")?: John Kelly. THAT'S why he didn't say anything.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Keep the TRUTH coming!
Beautiful speech Sir! I'm new to you and the internet, but I'm a lifelong Dem and liberal, and I agree with every word you said and feel every bit if the outrage. Excellent.
Conservatives idea of getting ahead inevitably requires the rest of the country to take two steps back!
@EJBert•that's the only way they Could get ahead!😂
You have hit the, "MAGA-NAIL," on the head...Woot!
So agreed, can't think of one solid positive contribution to society from conservatism. @@ramenbomberdeluxe4958
Please don't refer to the fascists as conservatives, that just feeds into their narrative. They want to be perceived as a normal party and that us libs are just out to get them. They only things they are trying to "conserve" are racism and bigotry.
Thanks, Steve. This can’t possibly be said enough.
Damn… That was a hell of a beatdown. Well said! Keep the rants coming… - I’ve subscribed
That was statement was mind-blowing 🤯 Thank you Steve 🇺🇸💙👋 Texas
Thank you so much for saying all of this! More people need to scream this at all the mountain tops!
They are part of the problem. When Liz got primaried, she got replaced by someone who was more willing to fall in line.
From the outside looking in I'm glad someone's gone and said all that.
