From the very beginning the music takes us into an emotional atmosphere, not the sunniest one. A mix of sweet nostalgia, longing and maybe resignation. Of course, as always in Mozart, wrapped it up in sheer perfection.
@@mtv565 Well, I can't agree with that! But I do like that basset horn: very useful instrument that has its place, to be sure. It's the basset clarinet that is (or should have been) a dead end.
Absolute masterpiece. Brilliant, beautiful, miraculous. I believe that this led to Mozart's famous Clarinet Concerto in A Major - another musical miracle.
Although, apparently, this was "originally written for the basset clarinet", there are, in fact, no uses of the extra notes to be found in this score: thank you, Wolfgang, for that. If only he'd left them out of the concerto, too -- then we wouldn't have to hear the horrible, out of tune stuffed up noises that we do!
That's so freakin similar to the clarinet concerto K622 also from Mozart. I think that Mozart, writing the concerto k622, was inspiring by his own clarinet quintet.
@@jonikaltenbach3587 Disrespectful? I don't believe so. I personally think Mozart would have found it quite amusing that people were still impersonating him over 200 years after his death. In the time on Earth where the entire world population was anonymously connected to each other within milliseconds, and people in this massive place have decided to name themselves after a composer who was dirt poor until his death and died at 35? Just for some thought.
What amazes me is the number of charming and great melodies in this work. Mozart was full of inspiration. Maybe one of his finest moments.
yup inspired brahms quintet
One of the highest peak of human genius is this quintet.

I agree!
Thank you very much, one of Mozart's best compositions.
Fabulous piece of music and fabulous playing!!
This piece is so beautiful. Mozart was a Great Composer. RIP AMADEUS
21:50 during the Menuetto is beautiful
シンプルな譜面と深い情感。これこそ奇跡のような融合だと思います。
It is by no means simple
Best piece of music ever written for Clarinet of all times! Even better than his own Clarinet concerto!
I prefer the concerto tho😅
@@MaximusRiopel il quintetto è musicalmente superiore
Agreed. If only they'd stick to the clarinet version of the concerto. The bassett clarinet is a horrible instrument!
@@CloudyMcCloud00 Basset horn is better than soprano clarinet in every way

Bloody Fantastic mate. BOMBASTIC SIDE EYE>
Thank you, Mr. Mozart.
What an incredible clarinet sound!
The alegretto at 29:30. Wow.As a clarinet player I tried for years to play that section, never could get there.
Yes, I think is hard.
Daniel, os agradezco mucho por haber subido esta magnífica pieza del gran W. A. Mozart. Gracias.
Saludos.
Simplemente Mozart! Simply Mozart!
This beautiful and comfortable performance is unrivaled, and outclassing
What a versatile musician Mozart is !
This is to the soundtrack to my morning.

For me, music was always an escape from the horrors of this place… now it will always serve as a reminder
The finale mash brought me here too.

Great performance by Maj. Winchester! ❤ 😊
very good performance
Listen to the first two bars: Doesn’t that pretty melody sound like “The Sidewalks Of New York”?
Yes! even the fifth note is the same.

Your not funny. Mozart was a great composer. You are not only being disrespectful to his memory but also to the dead.
