    I so agree about home cooked foods and avoiding preservatives. I also have a Histamine Intolerance and cooking or baking all the food has become a life saver after 12+ years of headaches & migraines. I am currently trying the low fodmap to further improve my health and have been feeling great. 🎉 Love your channel.

    I appreciate your information, trying to transition to more home-cooked meals, I like it. But it's hard sometimes, but good time to do it with the shortage of help in restaurants and fast food joints

      Hello! I suppose it is easier to give up eating out when everything is closed, but my #1 reason was always health. Best of luck on your digestive journey, Joann!

    I couldn’t agree more that the fodmap diet is not the complete answer but like you said it’s a good framework for a beginning.
    Those who adhere to this diet yet don’t at least consider reducing ALL sugars, most grains, ALL gluten, seed oils, nightshades etc will still likely suffer and wonder why.
    There’s other factors too.. like keeping good spacing (at least 4 hours) between each meal and sleep and no snacking etc.
    Just some of the things that can be just as important at the lofo diet itself but sadly people aren’t going to be aware of.
    Good video by the way.

      TOTALLY! Dang Pete, you sound like you know your stuff! The compliment is much appreciated. Can’t forget stress tho, that’s a HUGE factor, especially for women. Sleep too, I’m terrible at sleeping.😞 I touched on these things in a previous video, but I am hoping to get into the full lifestyle required to maintain good gut health again soon. I hope you’ll stick around even though you seem like you’ve got a handle on things.✌🏻

      @@gritandgroceries thank you.. I still have some way to go too.. however I now feel like I have all the pieces of my puzzle, it’s just a matter of putting it all together.
      I’m fortunate to not have the stress or sleep issues.. though on the rare occasion I don’t sleep well I usually make sure I lay in bed for minimum 7 hours so at least my body had a decent rest.
      Look forward to watching more of your journey and hopefully sharing too. 🙏

      Does low FODMAP diet require spacing between meals and no snacking? Thanks for the great vid!

    Thanks for thia video...What's the best flour for baking and pancakes on low fodmap diet?

    • @gritandgroceries
      @gritandgroceries  Год назад +1

      Hi, Betty! I use Bob’s Red Mill 1:1 GF baking flour for everything, including pancakes. It’s a mixture of rice, cassava, and potato with a little bit of xanthum gum as a binder. I like this combo because these starches are easy to digest and work with. I DO NOT recommend using any nut or legume flours, like coconut, almond, chickpea or lentil because they are high in fodmaps, not easy to digest and since it’s such a concentrated form of nuts, I feel like there’s a risk of developing a nut allergy. Hope this was helpful. Thanks for watching and I wish you the best of luck on your digestive journey!
