    This person is telling the truth. Personally, I've learned a lot from Mr.Muzamil. I'm from ex-FATA. There were no English teachers around, so I taught myself. Every day, I had to hike to the mountaintop and practice speaking to the trees and rocks. I got a job in Dubai thanks to my English proficiency. 🥰I WANT TO MEET WITH YOU MR.MUZAMIL HASAN .🤝

      Very commendable 👍 I only wish there were more in Pakistan with that mindset. In the 60s and 70s, even the domestic help spoke broken English. The change happened when the appeasement of the mullahs was started by Bhutto and then accelerated by Zia. There hasn't been any brain cells spared from religious indoctrination... English is a long long shot

    the issue is not speaking English. the issue is English speaking people normally consider Urdu speaking inferior. This is the prime issue!

      Just like people speaking Urdu consider people speaking pasto, punjabi, Baloch, Sindhi as inferior?
      In India most of the people can speak or understand English because it’s our second language. But in your case , Urdu(being a foreign/imported {from India}) is your second language and English comes 3rd.
      Hence the struggle is real!

    Very true . Pakistanis do indeed have a confused relationship with English. But this confusion runs very deep and wide into many other areas of life. Should we love or hate the US? India? Arabs? Even overseas Pakistanis? Our own history?
    As an overseas Pakistani, I notice this very clearly. A country where the majority of ppl are confused on so many levels. The relationship with English is a symptom.
    Fix the identity you fix the nation. End of confusion. Thank you.

    • @Zecos
      @Zecos 5 месяцев назад +2

      And what do you propose as a solution? Building identity isn’t easy when soo many ethnicities exist. As such religion acts as the only unifying force, and Pakistan has always used Islam to define its identity.

    • @crazyfrog126
      @crazyfrog126 5 месяцев назад +1

      That's a good question. I can only share my experience of living in the West. We can start by teaching the young generation in schools and media, our shared history, values, tolerance towards different ideas and thoughts, our goals etc. The list goes on. Perhaps these things can build a healthy identity.

    • @Zecos
      @Zecos 5 месяцев назад +4

      @@crazyfrog126 True. The Pakistani history that’s taught starts at the Indus Valley, skips everything, then talks about Muslim conquest of Sindh, then Mughals and so on. History shouldn’t be defined by religion. Most Pakistanis don’t even know about the rich Bhuddist, Hindu, and Sikh history they have because it’s been washed over by the Islamic one. Both are important. Both make us who we are today. It’s this notion that leads to Indians claiming our lands history… because we never claimed it. History isn’t defined by religion but by land. Our land has rich history that dates back to the world’s first major civilisation.
      First History, then we need to dissolve this idea of “ummah”. Most people don’t know that many Muslim countries sided with India in our wars. Most don’t know how much Pakistanis are hated in the Arab and Turkic world. This idea of “ummah” should die out. The recent events in Kyrgyzstan and the Middle East are leading to the end of this ummah idea, which presently I’ve only seen paraded in Pakistan. No other Muslim country cares, everyone is focused on themselves. We need to realise we’re Pakistanis first, Muslims/Hindus/Christians second.
      Next, provincialism needs to end. When you define provinces by ethnicities it leads to tensions and separatism. Its almost like we have 5 states in a single country; Most punjabis don’t know what Baluchistan is like. Most Pashtuns don’t know what Sindh is like. Pakistan should be divided into sub sectors based on a more equitable system, such as population. Grouping areas of 20 million people or so together will lead to more equitable distribution of funds and so, when economic growth takes place, those fazool ki tensions end. This also prevents one province from becoming a “monopoly” of sorts, like Punjab is today in Pakistan. Another issue this solves is that majority of provincial funds rn go to one city. In Punjab, Lahore. In Sindh, Karachi. In KP, Peshawar.
      Tied to this point is language. Urdu should be promoted, not forced, to everyone. People should be told that yes its great you’re learning your mother tongue, but learn Urdu and English too. I myself speak 3 languages: Seraiki, Urdu, and English. Promoting a single language will go a long way into promoting connectivity between the various ethnicities, which will lead to a strong sense of community. Coupled with a strong transport system like the one in India, this should make Pakistan a lot more cohesive. I strongly believe one of the prime reasons for the lack of a strong national identity is ethnic nationalism. If you finish ethnic nationalism, you solve a major piece of the puzzle.
      Next, education. Specifically education in modern science and technology. When you become a potent force in this sector automatically your country has global influence. A better image globally, one shifted from the traditional stereotypes we have, would make Pakistanis prouder a nation, which obviously contributes to national identity.
      Finally Islam. I’ve visited plenty Muslim countries and I’ve found the Islam in Pakistan to be the worst of the bunch. We don’t have female prayer areas, we have shrines where we worship humans, coexistence with minorities is seen as a sin, and much much more. We need a body of educated Muslim scholars (not the mullahs) to sit and decide on how to propagate true Islam, which at its core is about humanity, peace, community, and love. Extremism is a big issue here and learning the true Islamic faith can heal it. Moreover Islam is about not forcing people to believe in what you believe.
      Live and let live. Since Pakistan’s identity, and ideology, bases around Islam, we should at least teach the true religion in the country.
      Idk if all of these things just make sense to me or they do have potential. A more progressive, economically prosperous, and religiously true Pakistan can lead to the construction of a strong unified national identity. I mean we’re gonna celebrate a century of Independence soon. We’re not a new country anymore. Many said Pakistan wouldn’t survive half a decade, but it’s been eight and we’re still here. Idk who’ll ever think to this level, cuz our politicians are just busy playing their game of thrones. As a young proud Pakistani I hope to contribute to this. Apologies for the long ahh comment but Pakistan zindabad.

    This a very balanced thought outpouring. A massive skill/talent ocean is not being tapped due to the people having this language barrier. Yes, but that's still sad in a way that Pakistanis have to learn English and be good at it ( the language which was imposed on us by people who came to our lands from 6000 miles away and colonized us and imposed our culture on us) to find great job, or make a great career. it's so sad. We should keep improving and working on our national language ( Urdu) as well which is our identity in the world and gives us sense of belonging and comfort.
      People might say English is an international langauage we had to learn it either way even if britishers didn't come but they miss out on most important of points that atleast then we would not have that complex about English which currently prevails in our country. Chinese, French, Japenese ,turks, Italians etc all speak their language and when they speak english they speak on a very basic level without having an english accent while we live in complex until we master it.

Just recently I pronounced an English word incorrectly and my team had a great laugh on it. My English is quiet good overall, but I heard this word in an Indian podcast and just repeated what they said and even though it was a common word but I mispronounced it and all of them were laughing at me while they cant even say one complete sentence in English. I have been thinking about that insult the whole weekend. But this podcast made me realize that I know it better and I can do better. The gorey clients kept quite but my own "friends/colleagues" made fun of it.

    Given the global audience I aim to reach out to, I've kept my language in my videos defaulted to English. This is despite the fact that according to my YT data 74% of my viewers are from Pakistan, even though I'm not based in Pakistan! I've put up videos in Urdu but they didn't do so well, so for me I might as well stick to what works for me. My decision was based on what my data is telling me, not by what random a-holes on the Internet say.
    So I say go by what your data is telling you. Screw what the rest say.

It helps a lot when you realize that you are not defined by the country you were born in. And also, we need to get out of this collective mindset where every failure of our countries becomes our personal failure.

      @@SalahSalah-yt9ldLol , I'm pretty sure that's not even possible in a country where an organized religion is the state religion or a country where the majority of people are Muslims (unless the political system implemented is different). There are over 58 Muslim countries in the world and all of them are hell for their LGBT community, no rights, no representation, no freedom of expression or freedom of speech.
      Everyday from the past 2-3 years mostly, I could see the influence of Islam growing all over the world, In western countries due to high level of immigrants from Muslim countries, we could see that the Muslims are becoming influential, There have been Muslim led rallies in Britain and Germany regarding demand of Shariah by Muslims and last year in Canada some Muslims organised a million person march against LGBT community of Canada. Horrible!!
      Moreover, if you see so call red pill or manosphere sort of people they are in a lot of ways inspired by Muslims and a huge number of them are Muslims.
      If you ask me where the world is going, I'm confidently speaking towards the dark ages but this time led by Islam not Christianity or any other organized religion.

      Idk , what could genuinely happen about this . A lot of Muslim Mullahs have promoted falsely things like the whole world that the West is promoting LGBT or things like the a lot of people are becoming Gay etc etc .. all the BS . All I care about is truth and the truth is that, no matter what your religion, what your culture is , what your race is LGBTQ individuals are a part of every society in the world, a small percentage of LGBTQ individuals exist everywhere in the world and it has always been a small percentage, it is a small percentage and it is always going to be a small percentage. If anyone had studied evolution or history, they would know what I'm talking about.
      No one is promoting anything for God's sake , there are just a bunch of few countries which give equal rights to LGBTQ people and the majority of countries are life threatening, life suffocating of LGBTQ community.
      12 countries in the world have a death penalty for LGBTQ individuals and in more than 70 countries in the world it is illegal to identify as LGBTQ, Some people ask why pride matters, this is the reason.
      This world is not a good place unfortunately.
      There are 55-58 Islamic countries in the world ig , in all of those countries there is a very hard/ traumatizing repression of LGBTQ community.
      Also there are people that say that LGBTQ is something that came from the west, BS man BS , they have always been here , in every culture, they exist in every nation. Well , if there's a problem in Western style LGBTQ community, then no worries desi style mein kar lete hain Lol , woh kia hai yahan koi relate karne wala kabhi nahai tha , toh humari Pakistani LGBTQ community me westerners ko hi sunna tha, yah koi dard samajhne wala nahi tha, yahan koi role models nahi they , Yahan sirf nafraatein thein aur hain ...
      @ Salah Salah you asked about the solution under the Islamic state, I don't think there will be any rights under this sort of situation. As I mentioned earlier 55-58 Islamic countries are there in the world, which practice different versions of Islam but none of them considers LGBTQ rights. Also , 80% of Muslims around the world are fundamentalists, the rest 20% includes moderate Muslims and liberal Muslims and these 20% is going to be irrelevant.
      In my opinion the Islamism is genuinely rising all over the world, all I could see is a dystopia in the near future... No hopes left .
      Another thing I want to mention is that the religion of Islam is an expansionist religion, if you read the religion it promotes expansion. So , if anyone wonders why Muslims where ever they go want Islamic laws in those countries, even if they have 55-58 countries by themselves then yk.

    Good thoughts. But this is true for every aspect of how people feel superior and make others feel inferior and in the long term effects of their words will affect another person. So, as a society people need to understand that what they speak should be to build others up and make them feel confident and comfortable with themselves and others around them. Its so important. The culture of building each other up will make us united and stronger and will make us a force that people will have to respect and recognize. There’s enough to go around so stop worrying about pulling someone down. Look at your neighboring country, why are they everywhere, because they have a culture of building each other up. Its high time the younger generations change the mindset of their fellow citizens as a a whole and see how everyone takes the nation to new heights. I pray that i get to see a this mindset blossom in the Pakistani people. Once again, very good topic. Way to go.

    Muzamil, this is a very well series of dil ki bat ! I resonate with most of your points, particularly the confusion you describe and your search for solutions. It really hits home for me - I've been through similar thoughts but in a different way. Interestingly, my recent move to the USA has been a real eye-opener. It's forced me to re-evaluate things in a multitude of ways, But after hearing your perspective, I realize this feeling of confusion might actually be normal. Perhaps, it's a necessary step on the path to finding solutions.

    The real matter of concern should be why Pakistanis degrade and insult such a rich language called Punjabi, we’re not even allowed to speak Punjabi in our schools , even Punjab’s CM qnd other officials only give speeches in urdu , it’s a very fkd up situation, our establishment and media is killing Punjabi just to unify Pakistan although it doesn’t make any sense

    • @farhanathar2256
      @farhanathar2256 5 месяцев назад

      it does make sense, but you have to figure out first what's importance of Pakistan in your eyes and heart. If Pakistan don't matter to you then you can do whatever you want, but if matters to you ( I mean really matters) then you need to prioritize somethings clearly. if you unknowingly falling into somewhere in the middle, you need to get rid of confusion first before discussing this topic

      i'm of the same opinion. From my experience, it is the North Punjabis that are not confident in themselves when they speak their language. I have been living in the Middle East for a decade and it is always Punjabis from North Punjab (Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha etc) who don't speak Punjabi and it is because they were never taught it from a young age. Your observation is correct, I'm adding on to that. It is not only the govt, but reflection of a larger cultural problem. i have never met a seraiki, baloch or a Pashtun who didn't speak their language.

      @@umerghaffar4686 yes, what you gonna do ? will fight north punjabis over it? do you realize the concept of inter marriages as well? People are having marriages outside of their cast, communities through out Pakistan and that's actually good for the country and in helping all Pakistanis become a one nation. and that's very natural and organic as well. Your concept of every Punjabi must speak punjabi is gonna die out anyway in few decades. You should be more concerned about your young guys and girls moving out marrying goras and non muslims and leaving not only their language but their culture, forgetting their roots as well as their religion. that's actually the problem to discuss and solutions should be presented.

    Dear friend, in India, as per our educational policy, we follow the 3-Language formula.
    Hindi, English and language 0f the State. We have 22 Constitutionally recognized local languages. These are all on our currency notes, also.
    Now increasingly a trend is coming where school level (primary) children can take one more foreign language. One of my grandkids has the French language, for that matter.
    In addition, every State is encouraged to select another State for their school level children to learn about that State's some parts of language, like salutations, greetings, etc. And major aspects of culture. I live in Haryana .This State has made mantory for schools to help school children learn about TELGU language. The language spoken in our two States : Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
    This is in addition to full detailed geography, history, and culture etc taught at the school level.
    Believe me, I am connected to teaching methodologies, school level children learn new languages very fast. Now a days, with RUclips, no skill is away from you, including foreign languages. There are umpteen channels teaching languages. In seventies, I am in the process of learning Tamil and Urdu.
    All the Best Beta. You are doing a good job. God bless you.

    UK mein bhe curriculum ka part huta hai.
    White Americans and English have the lowest tendency to learn a second language.
    A simple way to understand this is, Latin is taught in Italy but we don't see Italians talking in Latin.
    Same goes, Arabic is taught in Pakistan but you don't see Pakistani's speaking Arabic.
    That begs the question why not arabic?

And yet they are unable to form a basic meaningful sentence.
