I have a 2022 4Runner and I'm trying to convince my fiance to ditch the Honda Pilot for one of these Sequoias! lol You have been doing a ton of reviews and I appreciate you going over all the details with the different packages.

I’m considering the same thing but waiting for the 2023 pilot to be released before deciding. I don’t tow, so do I want to pay $20k more for this vs pilot just to be a boss? The rear cargo / 3rd seat packaging on the Sequoia is a big draw back to me. I don’t even need the third row. My question on the Sequoia is comparing optioned up SR5 vs Platinum trims.
I’ll be swapping out our Honda Passport for the sequoia. At the very least the TRD sport trim.
The Pilot isn't even in the same class as the Seq

Id rather have the 2nd row slide than the 3rd row. At least give us that option of having all rows slide forward and back. Other than that I love this thing!
Err, did you miss the part from the engineers that the third slides is because the battery is underneath there? That is why the second row cannot slide.
@@ggthx doesn't mean the second row still couldn't have been made to slide because it wouldn't hit the batteries under the 3rd row.

Jon - the have to offer a 3rd row delete option! That folding 3rd row eats up so much cargo space its nuts! If they deleted the 3rd row and made the rear cargo area completely flat that would be ideal.
Yes, I have big dogs and need the room, I just want to know if it is possible! I can put a sheet of plywood over the opening, my dogs beds and blankets will be covering it
Can you please do a side by side comparison with the outgoing (2nd Gen Sequoia)? Really want to look at the change in cargo space, 2nd and 3rd row space, and the lack of centre locking diff giving full-time 4WD.

Why do people keep complaining about the roll down rear window? It still opens which is way better than nothing.

Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro, simply the best
Just curious, but do you know if one could swap front end bits from the Sequoia to the Tundra? This looks so much better than the Tundra. From a production cost standpoint I’d think that the underpinnings of the front end would be identical between the two.
I was waiting to sell my 4runner to get the sequoia but the rear seats and minimal rear cargo sport is starting to change my mind.
I mean it’s a lot more than the 4r

@@TRDJon Yeah, the 4runner has almost zero cargo behind the 3rd row. Still bummed about the 3rd row heigh floor height in the Sequioa though and odd lack of 2nd row seat movement. If I was using child car seats in the 2nd row it'd be impossible to get into the 3rd row (we have 2 kids in child seats, 2 kids in boosters).
Who needs a sports car anymore?

I’m definitely leaning towards the Lunar Rock over the Army Green Sequoia TRD Sport w/ 4wheel drive option and then change to the TRD bronze gold wheels instead of the black wheels… Seems to be most likely my next Toyota👌🏻
I hope that we are even able to get the color and trim that we want, but with supply and the high level of demand for this vehicle, I'm thinking it might be "get what you can" like most cars these days.
@@Zero8880 … I’d recommend buying in Vacaville Toyota being one of the premier dealerships… As I’ve done before for 2016 TRD Pro 4Runner… The honest owners always pay their own employees quite well and no commission markups… Kudos
@@charlesmack2078 That’s great to hear. My local Toyota dealer also says they don’t do dealer markups either, but they only do orders for the most part now and it will take a really long time, especially for a brand new model like this one.

Can the auto lift gate be locked to a specific height when raised? I have a problem with my 4runner liftgate hitting the garage door when opened.

At least there’s a 3rd row fold down function at the 2nd row. My fucking ‘21 Expedition can only fold/unfold from the TRUNK. The trunk!!! The only area with 3rd row controls

Sounds exactly like my dads 2003 sequoia. Except the older models have a 4.7 but are worst on gas

That's a interesting but needles take, since Toyota had been using forced induction engines since the 90's and in other parts of the world.

These things are a snooze fest off the line. But it seems like Toyota did that on purpose to save the internals because that 30 - 70 sprint was stupid quick. That is VERY fast.

They do - it's an option. That's why it's introduced as a "7-8 seater".

Is there any FLOOR vents for 2nd & 3rd rows? Here up north, we mostly are using the heat and it's more efficient from the floor.

I was just mentioning a problem free launch so far for the suv. Anytime I hear about the new Tundra, it’s wastegate this, window seal that, recall this suspension bolt, etc. Since they are both on the same platform and new, I would expect similar issues. I will be clearer with my thoughts and comments next time.
This isn't out yet so it's not in the masses hands. Will probably have issues as all new new vehicles do
