You should have pulled the trigger on the Bomberger’s! I bought an Old Tub for $18 a few months ago. I picked up Elijah Craig BP C923 last Tuesday and will cracking it open tonight. Also picked up the 2XO Tribute Blend, a Blanton’s ($69.99) and a Heaven Hill 7 Year BIB for $39.99 today. 🥃

Love your reviews and especially the hunt videos. One thing though I think I’ve mentioned in a previous hunt videos of yours: you gotta try that James E. Pepper 1776 bourbon (you breeze right by it)!!! So damn good, and the longer it’s open, the creamier it gets!! I’ve even picked out a sweet tea flavor on the pallet, if you’re into that. I don’t know what’s going on with the Elijah Craig and Larceny Barrel proofs. My local stores just got B523 of both bottles last week, they had a shipment of those back in June and just got them again. Nobody has c923 around here yet.
It's been the same around here. The last liquor store owner said the bottles of B523 in the shelf was his first shipment that just came in. 🥃
Great vid, happy hunting! On the Russell's Reserve Rye check the laser code and I would buy that sucker if it's an LL/G (2018) or LL/H (2019) - they are the best years I think. Supposedly these are the years/barrels that made up the Master's Keep Cornerstone Rye.

Dont think youre gonna find cellar aged just chillin on the shelf. Maybe, but incredibly unlikely. Im in Colorado and I think I heard 90 bottles for the entire state.
Believe it or not, I've seen and bought some incredible bottle that were sitting on the shelf. I'm in Maryland where that can pretty much charge what they want and I was happy to $20 over retail for a bottle of Parker's Heritage just sitting in the shelf behind a Russell's pick. Virginia just had a mix up with there allocated bottles and put out 9 Cellar aged and I e lucky guy walked away with all 9.😆🥃

It’s the second Saturday of each month for allocated list come out the Thursday before. And then it’s just random drops for other hard to finds. I check the website most mornings and have been able to get everything Ive wanted.

yeah bro tell me you didn't pass on the JD SBBP rye and the LBP B523 bottles. Both are stellar - the LBP B523 is at least as good as C922 and possibly better -absolute banger bottle man.
I have them both already. I bought a backup of the A batch because I thought it was that good. The B is good but I still have 3/4 of a bottle left and they're pretty easy for me to find.🥃

That Nikka strait from the barrel was the first Japanese whiskey I really liked. $75 for the 750ml is a great price on that.

There has been some cellar age popping up in ABC in Va. Also no limits on bottles so people have been snatching them all up. Keeping my eyes out
I heard that! A buddy spoke to a store manager and it turns out ABC messed up again! The store manager called corporate and they said the few stores that released them did so by accident. She told him that it won't happen again. He heard that one guy snagged 9 on one visit.🥃

Big fan of JD BP and bonded products but then again, I live about 30 mins from the distillery. Working on getting the SBBP rye but it’s not easy to find in my area as hard as that sounds.

You're so right. This is an expensive hobby and Bourbon makers are capitalizing on the Bourbon hunting craze. Buyer beware.
Especially some of the guys who source! $100 for 4&5 year old bourbon finished in this or that for 18 months or so. 🥃
It's not even the makers all the time. It's mostly the crazy store owners that mark up 100-1000%

Pendleton Midnight is one of the few Canadian whiskeys I enjoy, some people don’t like it, I enjoy it. It won’t blow your mind but it’s a simple Bourbon that is good 🥃

That Bombergers is fantastic but it’s not worth 140. I paid 100 + tax for mine & that’s about as high as anyone should go.

The 1792 that is allocated is the single barrel and full proof. Also, commenters is there a bottle n bond 1792? If so that would be allocated as well. Small batch is the common one.
It's common around me as well, but I've heard some people say it's hard to get like OGD114 is in some states.🥃

I was just on the Virginia ABC today and they had a ton of them in the shelf. They always seem to be available in VA if you're close by. I happen to work in Virginia so I have access to them on the regular. I will say if they stop showing up there then... Houston we have a problem 😁🥃
