That is probably one of my most favorite mini bikes sir. The shortster 1974 XL90 HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE amazing sir. Best on the East Coast😮😮😮 Kaplan cycles diamond in a rough❤❤
Awesome!!!. I spent today boring/honing my wife’s ‘73 x90 cylinder. If I get her something cool to ride at the pits, I get more MX races in my future. Win-win. 😂👍👍
I had one of these things when I was a kid. By the tank decal I believe yours is a 1973. The way the electrical system worked if the taillight was burnt out it would not start. The casting around the throttle cable is prone to breaking. Be careful of that.
Well Ken, I just created a monster...I showed my wife this video. Now she requires a vintage Gary Nixon jacket and the gloves to go with the bike...As you know, they aren't giving those away. My previous win-win comment may be a win-draw soon... I better make sure that jacket is an XL, so it will fit me too...🤣🤣👍
Rebadged Italian import. You could buy the same bike at any Ace Hardware store labeled as a Indian or various other names. Aermacchi is the REAL name of the manufacture. It ain't no Harley.
It isn't a rebadged Italian import, between 1974 and 1978, AMF Harley-Davidson owned 100% of the old Aermacchi motorcycle concern, so the X90 is 100% a Harley-Davidson. As for the Indian 2-strokes of the 1970's, they were manufactured in Taiwan under licence from the Clymer Group of companies, Floyd Clymer had bought the rights to produce the Indian brand in the early 1960's. Sadly Mr Clymer died of a heart attack in 1970 aged 74, but the Indian motorcycle manufacturing concern that he had founded carried on building complete motorcycles in Taiwan until 1977. 1976 SS175 in 1980. My 1st driver license; 1st Street bike. Turned me on to the Harley Experience. As Long as you Stay( ed) away from Harley Shops/ Dealers. They Denied their existence. Probably a Reason they're having Years Worth of Hassles/ Hard Times. Shame.
They were on to something, it's cooler than a Grom
One of my friends had one of those but it was pre 1970..maybe 69? I was envious!
Sounds like the baffle is missing. I remember it was common on the 2 stroke enduros to remove them.

My first snowmobile was Harley Davidson 440 1973 and my first real motocycle was a Harley Davidson 65 cc 1972 now i ride a fatboy and a Honda xr-600
😻
I know this ole boy that makes an FXR look that small when he rides. He's a big dude bro....
Ohio here I can get 3 of them but they need lot of work 200 for all 3 just like that one
In the Harley World of terms , is that a Piglet ?
Just like riding a fat woman, it’s fun, but you don’t want nobody to see you!!!!!😂
Jesus on a skate board..was my older brothers first bike..
