I am coming back to this channel because all of my Venus flytraps from last year died on me. Maybe I’ll do better this year. I love your dresses by the way! Thank you for looking so presentable in the videos! Very classy. (:
Nice video, I have VFT for three years outside now and the sun was always a major concern for me until recently... I experienced attacks from birds twice who unrooted all my venus flytraps. My plant endured this and now decided to grow a fairly fat flower stalk. Is it normal for them to grow a flower stalk that is, unlike usually, fat and blood red from its base? Also, all of its new traps are deformed and twisted. Last summer I was shocked to see all traps closed one day. Stupid birds. But when they opened they had digested like four grasshoppers, a spider, two wasps, and some flies. Idk if its doing good, or is going sick from... "bird attack repotting stress."
Great info, thanks. I'm thinking about this, but it's fall (I'm in northern WI) and perhaps it would be best to wait until spring. From my limited knowledge, it sounds like if I buy a Venus flytrap now, I'll just have to put it in the refrigerator until spring. Thanks for the great info!
Congratulations on your RUclips channel. I'm learning a lot by watching your videos. I'm Italian (I apologize for my poor English) and I live in Sicily. Where I live, temperatures can reach around 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit) in the months of June, July, and August. On these hot days, can I leave the Venus Flytraps in direct sunlight or should I provide them with shade?
I'm just guessing here but I think doing 3 or so hours of direct sunlight, then do shade on very hot days. She said they need to have dormancy 3 months out of the year so if it's really hot in the summer where you live I would put the plant in the refrigerator then and when winter comes around place the VFT outside again.
thank you so much for your videos, i’ve been watching so many of them recently because i’m gonna get a venus flytrap and sundew (i’ve wanted them for so long)! though, i have question: how would you water them while on vacation? i’ve heard from you and many other sources that the water tray method is the best, but i’m not sure how i could keep it in water while i am away. (to be exact, we’re out for about 3-4 weeks) thank you again for your content! much appreciated and looking forward to more videos from this channel.
Thank you for this video. Would Coco choir work for a medium as well? Maybe mixed with sand? I don't have a lot of money but I do have a ton of coco choir. I think I can find some sand and rock wool. I also have moss I can get from my yard to add to the top and inside the mix.
Hi, I just purchased my first Venus flytrap from Walmart, the plant came in a 2.5 inch pot. Please can you tell me if I need to repot now or wait until later ? Many thanks for any suggestions or advice you can give me. Lynda.😀
hello! I have a question. I bought a venus flytraps and i have have three little venus flytraps in one pot. Should i give each one a bug or only one of the flytraps?
How is there not a Ring on your Finger. Where are you?, so I can come Propose right now. All jokes aside, You are Gorgeous. Thanks for your info and hard work producing these videos.
ooh looks like i need to repot my pitcher! I love your informative videos can you recommend any synthetic feeds? i seen some getting around, placing a drop onto their traps. I also seen fish flakes but that's only really good for ones with the nectar/decomp juice lol I would love to try this as i grow indoors in Australia, we are finally past summer!
Need some quick help, repotting a Walmart plant and there's two in there. One with about four traps shooting to the left and the other with four trap shooting to the right. Should I plant them together to look like one big plant? Or split them up?
My 6 year old tropical pitcher plants has pitchers the size of beer cans, grown in sun tropical Brisbane Australia, the Venus flys also are 3 yo and get bigger every year, a very easy and rewarding hobby, the trick is not too much attention and plenty of good light and rain water.
I got a baby pitcher from a local shop (not bunnings lol) its prob around half a year old now, the new pitchers have tripled in size...but looking at hers, I certainly need to repot. what sort of humidity do you get over there? im in Perth WA so a bit dryer I think but have managed with domes and propagation stations to keep them humid, my venus collection however struggled a little over summer 🙄 dews are thriving tho
I need help/advice.. I've got a plant that is eating itself... While watereing/topping uo one of the stems grabbed another one.. Do I let it feed on itself or do I cut the being eaten one off? Video will be added when ulpoaded.. I can get them with flower within 4 weeks but this is new to me.. Please advise! - When you see the video, you will undertstand... Got about 9-10 live and about 8 more growing - when is the best time to re-pot?..
I love your channel! I just got my first venus fly trap and it arrived in a very small plant pot. I was wondering how long it will survive in the small pot before I have to repot it (the venus fly trap is quite small and fits in the pot, though it is hanging out quite a bit). I have no idea what I’m doing so any tips and tricks about repotting and planting would help!
It's really weird to say you love someone you have never met. Love her channel and information for sure but saying "I love you" is a serious thing. I'm sorry I'm just saying. Please don't get upset at me.
thank you for this! my uncle randomly gave me and my little cousins venus flytraps for christmas and i’m researching how to care for them properly :)
Thank you! My carnivorous plant journey is completely mapped out now

is pH value in the soil mix important for the venus flytraps? my soil mix is at a 7 which is neutral value
What if you already watered it with tap water. Would the soil be contaminated?
You are so beautiful
Excellent info, thank you!!

Welcome!
