Thanks for educating people on what real olive oil is all about! I'm a small oil producer in Northern California and find most people have no idea what real olive oil tastes like.
We have 80 odd trees and can get over 150 lts a year, ideal for the family! Some years we can get quite a 'spicy' taste and as the family owns the local bakery, I'm in dipping heaven. Live on the coast of Southern Spain!
Thank you for your video, it should be considered a crime for the high prices that they charge for rancid oils , oils that have come from 5 different countries you don't know the quality you don't know if they picked it up off the ground how many months spent in a warehouse and yet they've got the gall to charge expensive prices the needs to be a law. To protect the consumer
Olive oil benefits: 1/I have used extra virgin olive oil to remove it every day, I just use sunscreen and lipstick. It's light and nourishes my skin. How to use it: wash my hand clearly and dry my hand, use extra virgin oil to massage my face for 1~2 minutes. After that, I use a wet warm towel to clear my skin. Finally, I use a foam cleanser to wash my face. 2/I have to use extra virgin oil to clear my head when it's dirty or has dandruff. It's really effective. I use it 30 minutes before washing my hair.
The last evoo i bought is cold pressed, its from Spain and came in a sort of tin can (but not the kind you open with a can opener)...lol! I think I did good, but its still a bit of a guessing game. One thing I noticed while shopping, is that one bottle can have oils from several Countries and I suppose as long as theyre all evoo its ok...but it sounds like there's more room for "hanky-panky".
I love ex vi o oil, all my life I cook with it, I put in my salads, and everything I do, food wise, I do it with ex vi ol oil. 5 years ago I tried spanish ex vi ol oil from Costco and I loved it. After the covid pandemic, prices of olive oils started to go up, it actually tripled the prices, and I can no longer afford it. Now I use regular olive oil.

As an American, she uniquely describes a European culinary icon with such depth, simplicity and clarity! But Americans have a long way to go to appreciating the basics of good food for good health.
She's right. I lived in Rome among the Italians for a month. That was long enough to notice (I walked everywhere) no obese teenagers, elderly., etc.. I saw one fast food restaurant. I saw how they ate. We allow here in America all these chemicals that they do not allow in their foods. I could go on!
Americans are not monolithic. Some are world class experts in culinary matters. We have other strengths: political systems that guarantee individual liberties, entrepreneurialsim, powerful economy, creativity, generosity, etc. Personally, *I* typify your remarks. I indeed have a long way to go.
I think you're on to something I think like 30% of Americans are obese I'm one of them maybe 10 more pounds in the stomach and tone up Now let's do the obesity rate against the world🤰🗺️ 😆😳 We appreciate foods from other countries because American food is known for this junk( hot dog pizza process chemicals causing cancer) I've got to go to Italy one day 🇮🇹
Olive oil thugs... who knew.. I was definitely surprised when I learned of the many pitfalls in the journey to a decent brand of true, quality olive oil
We recommend buying olive oil online because that way you know the oil has not been exposed to light or heat until you open your package at home. If you prefer to shop in stores, you want the freshest olive oil available. Look for a harvest date within the last year, or a 'best by' date more than a year away. Look for olive oils from a single variety or a single region - and avoid blends of oils from different countries!
The 100,000 foot question: Who ensures the quality of these foods we pay through the nose for at the grocery store!? I have heard it is not uncommon for oils to be diluted, or "cut" with cheaper oils.
You've hit on the reason why Olive Oil Lovers exists - our goal is to be your trusted source for extra virgin olive oil. We import from small family producers / cooperatives and sell directly to the consumer.
@@fred8780 Bragg's is popular with organic apple cider vinegar, yet I am new to their olive oil. But I have learned that the best well known for extra virgin olive oil are the ones from Morroco - Morrocan olive oil as recognized worldwide compared to Spain and Italian extra virgin olive oils. Morrocan olive oil has the most extracts of polyphenols, which is hard to get from other foods or olive oils. Polyphenols are known to be very important for health benefits for the heart, brain (such as alzheimers), and rheumatoid arthritis disease and also diabetes. If you to take it by mouth, at least only a teaspoon - 2 X a week. It's really good for digestion.
@@defenderoftorah519 With Braggs you know you have quality olive oil. Fake oil can come from any place. There are other brands that people claim are great.
@@fred8780 But like I said, there's nothing to be compared to Morrocan olive oil. It is the best we can get. It's the only one in the world that has the highest quantity of polyphenols.
@@fred8780 It was studied by a doctor who wanted to find somewhere that was better than Spanish and Italian olive oils. He tested them at a laboratory and the results were that you couldn't get enough polyphenols. And so, he traveled to Morroco and that's were he found the highest quantity of polyphenols.
Hi from Spain!, were you can enjoy the best olive oil brunches in the world 😉. The correct labeled is "VIRGEN (virgin) EXTRA", and of course, bottled in dark cristal, usually dark brown or green; clear cristal bottles allow high light oxidation of this delicious treasure for our health. Just for you that clicked to read more...a couple simple spanish secrets 😜: 1.- Dip some bread in this thick green juice, add a pinch of salt, and right into your mouth, close your eyes and allow the salty oil to touch your palate before chewing it, and...take off. 2.- Slice a tomato in two, hold one part in your hand, add some salt, a spurt of this oil, and fill your mouth with a giant bite, as if there is no tomorrow. When finished...idem with the other half. 3.- Don't forget coming back to Earth
@Elige Bien Thank you for the information. Several times, I have traveled to Spain and Italy. I REALLY enjoyed the culture, art, music and the people. Also, I enjoyed the food. The bread dip into the olive oil was delicious 😋.
I have a bottle of Pompeian Extra Virgin olive oil, made in Spain, no harvest date on the bottle, the word "bold" is on the label and it says it's cold pressed. Any info on this brand?

Hi .. I use one of the best EVOO, single sourced Organic unfiltered Partanna from Sicily. Amazingly walmart even sells it. $15 for a 16.9 bottle. It is a fantastic EVOO.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Not all olive oils will have a harvest date listed separately on their packaging. The "best by" date is typically about 18-24 months after bottling, so always look for an oil with a best by date more than a year away. At oliveoillovers.com we do list the harvest date for every olive oil we sell, with most new harvest oils arriving around the start of the Spring.
I am on the hunt for authentic balsamic vinegar, I believe I found a reputable dealer, and I'm also on the hunt for authentic extra virgin olive oil. I want the real thing and I'm willing to pay for it!! Thanks for the info
I have been told by olive oil specialists that the company/name Bragg definitely produces the extra virgin, cold pressed, organic olive oil that comes from Greece. Most rank it as number 2 on the list of those sold in North America.

There are some small producers on the central coast of California that sell online. You wont find their oil in stores. Belle Farms, Wild Poppy, Pleasant Valley Olive oil ranch, Belle Vista, are a few.
Hello Joanne I have two questions. 1. Is polyunsaturated fat the same as polyphenol? 2. Is monounsaturated fat more important than polyunsaturated fat or vice versa? Thank you, Curtis.
Hi there. Polyunsaturated fat has no relationship or correlation to polyphenols. Polyphenols are plant-based nutrients with antioxidant capabilities. The fat makeup of olive oil is primarily oleic (usually around ~80%) and linoleic fatty acids (typically up to ~20%). Oleic acid is a monounsaturated fat while linoleic is polyunsaturated. Both are necessary to the body. Which is more important to your body is a question better answered by medical professionals.
I just found out there is a lot more to olive oil. Especially use for heart health reasons. The olive we that is in my pantry right now is Star Extra Virgin olive oil (green bottle). Bought at a grocery store. Can anyone tell me if this is a good, bad or decent olive oil? I usually shop at Safeway/vons, lucky/savemart, Walmart or Costco.
▪︎The following olive oil below might be good. Costco brand Kirkland extra virgin olive oil. Trader Joe premium. 100% Greek Kalamata extra virgin olive oil. California extra virgin olive oil. ( ranch 100%).
@Paulgator68 I recently purchased the Braggs olive oil. It came in a dark glass. It was Koroneiki olives, organic, cold pressed non gmo, kosher and it's 32 oz. I paid almost 17 bucks for it. I use their cider vinegar which is great so I thought I'd try their olive oil, but there is so much stuff that goes into it. It's all confusing.
@@madelinedelvalle3666 you are correct about the Bragg olive oil. It is extra virgin, cold pressed, organic, and according to the olive oil specialists the Bragg brand ranks in the number 2 spot. Check out our collection here: oliveoillovers.com/collections/extra-virgin-olive-oil. Many customers who take EVOO as a health supplement purchase our top seller, Estepa Virgen, as this product has consistent quality and high polyphenols each year. From Italy, Quattrociocchi Superbo is another product customers purchase for its quality and polyphenols. Hope this helps!

I have a see through bottle tesco extra virgin Organic certified Olive Oil but its not to expensive is this okay to have? I want to start taking olive oil but I am so screwed up mentally on what to take and not
NO, you shouldn't. It's not good quality olive oil. An excellent quality EVOO will ALWAYS be packaged in either a brown or green glass bottle. A reputable company would never risk their name and good reputation by using clear plastic or glass to bottle their EVOO. When exposed to light it oxidizes and becomes rancid much quicker. No OO producer wants their hard work and high quality OO to go to waste! So, they will make sure that it's preserved. The good stuff is going to cost you more. It's an investment in your health. Try California Olive Ranch for a good quality local made in USA EVOO. For top notch oils from Greece, Spain, Tuscany, Portugal, and a few other distinct OO producing countries on the map. Make sure they have a PDO seal on the bottle. (Protected Designation of Origin) Those seals are only given to the highest quality olive oils by the European government. Do your research and find yourself some great OO. It doesn't have to be expensive. Costco carries PDO olive oils once a year. So, stock up when you see it! I hope this had been helpful. 😊 Note: OO = Olive Oil EVOO = Extra Virgin Olive Oil
@@coriebarnes8680 If he's buying from Tesco, he probably lives in the UK. So he'll have to forget California olive oils, they're simply not available. He'll need to look for European high quality oils. Not sure Tesco will be the right place to look.
Thanks for the info. I do have one question: I have been told to use extra virgin olive oil for things like salad dressing, dipping, sprinkling a.s.o, and use just plain Olive Oil in cooking. From what I understand this has to do with the extra virgin oil losing flavour when heated. So it doesn't change the oil in a bad way, but that it is a waste of money to cook (at medium to high heat) with an expensive oil, when plain (olive oil) will give the same result. Is this correct?
We recommend extra virgin for all applications, including cooking. Regular olive oil, by definition, has been chemically treated to remove flavor defects, while extra virgin olive oil is literally the only unsaturated fat cooking oil that undergoes zero chemical processing. One of the main reasons we see suggested for using olive oil vs. EVOO is to avoid having a flavorful oil used in cooking. Cooking with extra virgin might cause the oil to lose a bit of flavor, but it's actually quite stable up to about 400F, and higher quality oils withstand the heat even better. And a study released in Spain last year concluded that cooking vegetables in EVOO makes the phenols of the cooked veg more available than cooking in other oils. Olive Oil Lovers carries a number of different price point EVOOs, so you can cook with good stuff and not break the bank. Then you can save the super high quality, high-polyphenol EVOOs for your dressing and dipping and get the best of both worlds!
I would just lightly stir fry with it for frying I go with avocado oil instead of butter use EVO on my baked potatoes after they've cooled of a bit also on my sweet potatoes which are supernutritious when I make a pasta dish let it cool off a bit 3 to 5 minutes and I drizzle a little EVO on top of the dish with EVO the gourmet and health possibilities are endless it enhances the flavor of almost eveything

Dear friends, i guess all members of our community know that olive oil is life, an essential element ( one of the few appeared repeatedly in the bible) that needs to be part of everyone's life style, at the same time when it comes to quality we need to be aware over few things like the origin and the methodology with which people takes care of this precious tree....after a lot of investigation i found out that the best quality of olive oil (worldwide) it comes from south of Greece, it came as a surprise to know that even Italians prefer certain Greek oils ( based on their origin)...i'm not going to start with the biochemical composition benefits of ( par example) koroneiki or kalamatas olive, but i suggest to try it ( if you can find it) so you can see it on your self!!! Honestly the extra virgin from there is having a quality that is beyond comparison...at the end as we all know, not all omive oils are the same! God bless you all.
I grew up with olive oil it was extracted on 2huge grinding stones with a poor donkey going round n round having two leather bits on the side on his eyes or with a water wheel fresh olive oil tastes Very different that is as its running through the grinding stones totally different as u used to take the soft inside of the bread n fill the bread with Fresh oil taste is almost like grape juice n wine its that different, also the best n most expensive was Black olive oil olives picked when they got ripen n black laid under the sun to dry like grapes to turn them to sultanas that oil no one will sell u as they keep it for themselves my mate got some from people he knows back home n h still paid 55 Euros for a Gallon well 5 L. n that was about 7 years ago maybe longer, best olive oil is Greek n Turkish Italian oil is very thin more like water Spanish last I remember 60s or 70s few people died cause some crooks in Spain mixed engine oil with olive oil, the Americans bought 10000s of Greek olive trees when it was found olive leaves have strong immune boosting qualities so they must have known something about their quality
Is the Olive oil ( for cooking and frying ) selling in Tesco stores are the real olive oil or mixed with some other oils ?? kindly answer this question since you are the oil expert.
We're US based so not sure what they sell in Tesco. First make sure the label says "extra virgin" and aim to buy a product that is not in clear packaging. Look on the label for the oil's origins - ideally you want an oil from single region, not multiple countries. Finally look for a date - ideally a harvest date within the last 12-18 months, or a "best before" date that is in the future! The freshest EVOO is usually your best choice.

Do you keep ExtraVirgin,Olive Oil in refrigerator?
no.. always put/hide EVOO in the dark area/in cabinet. into the fridge just to test it as mentioned above ☝️
@Kodilu - your detailed explanation regarding the chemistry of the different oils is the most amazing review. T,ks for sharing your knowledge ❤. I am Rebecca from Singapore
I love Olive oil and need to know the best brand.
Thanks for educating people on what real olive oil is all about! I'm a small oil producer in Northern California and find most people have no idea what real olive oil tastes like.
so right thumbs up
Can give contact info ? What is moq and photo of products here ?
Yes agree with mete Ayatta
What brand do you produce
We have 80 odd trees and can get over 150 lts a year, ideal for the family! Some years we can get quite a 'spicy' taste and as the family owns the local bakery, I'm in dipping heaven. Live on the coast of Southern Spain!
Thank you for your video, it should be considered a crime for the high prices that they charge for rancid oils , oils that have come from 5 different countries you don't know the quality you don't know if they picked it up off the ground how many months spent in a warehouse and yet they've got the gall to charge expensive prices the needs to be a law. To protect the consumer
Great Information! Thank you for the tips!
Well presented, you enlighten many people!
Yeah. She has got it right. I live in Greece
but there is a lot more to getting it to oil
I live in NY. How can I locate a high quality local olive oil from Greece to have shipped here? Any recommendations? Please and thank you.
Information disseminated there with fluency in a calm balanced tone is most welcomed
Olive oil benefits:
1/I have used extra virgin olive oil to remove it every day, I just use sunscreen and lipstick. It's light and nourishes my skin.
How to use it:
wash my hand clearly and dry my hand, use extra virgin oil to massage my face for 1~2 minutes. After that, I use a wet warm towel to clear my skin. Finally, I use a foam cleanser to wash my face.
2/I have to use extra virgin oil to clear my head when it's dirty or has dandruff. It's really effective. I use it 30 minutes before washing my hair.
Thanks for posting/sharing

Hi what's the best olives to eat on a daily basis
Thank you, did not know about cold extraction -v- 1st cold press.
Thank you for this. This was good information.
She stated cold pressed is erroneous
it is said - from a lot of countries is bad - can not be traced at all -- and most can not tell just how old it is -
Is it the same oil you buy for cooking
Thank you so much for taking the time to make and post this *Excellent* video tips for buying Olive Oil. I learned something new today. :-)

At home where should a bottle of OO be stored in a cabinet or refrigerator once its opened for use ?
We recommend storing your olive oil in a cabinet away from any heat sources. There is no advantage to storing EVOO in a refrigerator.
I just live about an hour north of the olive capital in CA.
I used picking olives 🫒 in Tuscany 🇮🇹 Italy And I Miss that days. .Bella Vita ..
As an American, she uniquely describes a European culinary icon with such depth, simplicity and clarity! But Americans have a long way to go to appreciating the basics of good food for good health.
That's presumptuous.
I think you're on to something I think like 30% of Americans are obese I'm one of them maybe 10 more pounds in the stomach and tone up
Now let's do the obesity rate against the world🤰🗺️ 😆😳
We appreciate foods from other countries because American food is known for this junk( hot dog pizza process chemicals causing cancer) I've got to go to Italy one day 🇮🇹
Bull!
So tell us what brand you use.

Does anybody know which brand of evoo I should buy from Walmart? I don't want to have to go to a health food store or Amazon
After watching this, I am still lost.
If you cant find the date pressed on the bottle, don’t buy it. If it is over a year old, don’t buy it.
I buy Vito Corleone olive oil.
What olives are the best? But, how do we find the best ones for our health?
How is Bragg's Organic Olive Oil for quality? That's the brand I've used for awhile now.
@@sovereignsoul thank you
but i also want to know about Bragg's
@@fred8780
Bragg's is popular with organic apple cider vinegar, yet I am new to their olive oil.
@@defenderoftorah519
With Braggs you know you have quality olive oil. Fake oil can come from any place.
There are other brands that people claim are great.
@@fred8780
But like I said, there's nothing to be compared to Morrocan olive oil.
It is the best we can get. It's the only one in the world that has the highest quantity of polyphenols.
@@fred8780
It was studied by a doctor who wanted to find somewhere that was better than Spanish and Italian olive oils. He tested them at a laboratory and the results were that you couldn't get enough polyphenols.
And so, he traveled to Morroco and that's were he found the highest quantity of polyphenols.
Thank you for the video! Good information!

Just for you that clicked to read more...a couple simple spanish secrets 😜:
1.- Dip some bread in this thick green juice, add a pinch of salt, and right into your mouth, close your eyes and allow the salty oil to touch your palate before chewing it, and...take off.
2.- Slice a tomato in two, hold one part in your hand, add some salt, a spurt of this oil, and fill your mouth with a giant bite, as if there is no tomorrow. When finished...idem with the other half.
3.- Don't forget coming back to Earth

Great video. Where can I find the harvest date tho ?
Glad you enjoyed the video. Not all olive oils will have a harvest date listed separately on their packaging. The "best by" date is typically about 18-24 months after bottling, so always look for an oil with a best by date more than a year away. At oliveoillovers.com we do list the harvest date for every olive oil we sell, with most new harvest oils arriving around the start of the Spring.

Note: OO = Olive Oil
EVOO = Extra Virgin Olive Oil

@@Oliveoillovers Thank you.

It would be flavorful if it is mixed with donkey dung juice. Lol 😂
Is there a way I can make my own olive oil there's just too many tricksters.
