    I have some Jeep fordite from the 80s. I know that this material is much more rare than it used to be. because of how robots now do the painting instead of people. People would do a lot more overspray than a robot. I worked as a paint inspector in the 80s and I managed to acquire some at that time. I now from experience that those larger flat square pieces were made by someone in a garage or basement and made from paint bought at home depot or lowes. At the factory each layer is first primered then sprayed and then clear coated and then baked on. It takes sometimes years to get a coat thick enough to be used . When I retired there was very little overspray left on the body frames. Not enough to be useful . I think your the only one with a channel that gives such accurate info on fordite. I have never seen any fate fordite. So. does the fake fordite smell different than the real stuff ?

    I have been making Fordite cabs for years. This is excellent advice! I have purchased Fordite in pound quantities, have great connections and still purchase smaller pieces from her site. Why? The Quality. Try it, you'll like it.

      I just started making fordite about a month ago. Do you have any trusted retailers to buy in bulk. I'm looking to acquire a pound or two, possibly more depending on price.

    Is there a way to date Fordite from the colors of paints used? If so, do you have any advice on which era used what colors?

    • @thelapidarychannel4770
      @thelapidarychannel4770  3 года назад

      Yes you can google stock paint colors per year and match colors up to date fordite. It takes time but worth doing if you really want to know the age

    Would you be interested in 40yr old aircraft paint agate? It is years of built up brilliant colored aircraft paint that has been over sprayed and baked. I have quite a bit of it that we use for various things but I’m also interested in selling some of it as well.
    I have some very large pieces as well as miles of smaller pieces.
    Let me know and I’ll send you some samples🤙🏽

      It's highly collectible. It's actually sought after by rock hounds and car collectors. Makes it worth just that much more. Has been collected for a long time. If you don't like it, no need to leave your negative comment.
