Just to add more, I have official hearing aids but always found the sound quality was terrible. These buds are so different, they really give proper full range. Also when I did the test, I ignored the first one I could hear and went for the next one. This gave me a much better control within the app when I needed a real boost. The reason these are great are that in my work and play I use headphones a lot. Using headphones with over ear aids is absolutely awful. They whistle and are very uncomfortable. Taking it on and off everytime I take the headphones on and off is also a real pain. These work seamlessly in that environment. The occlusion thing is an issue but not a deal breaker. I find that the buds give enough top end signal to balance the occlusion boominess and this was something I was already experiencing without them - my head voice louder than what I could hear. Another great thing I love is the lack of latency when using with phone or tablet. I've been using BT headphones for a while but find that when using a dongle when a device doesn't have native BT, the latency kills it, sometimes almost a second. No problem with music but with movies and TV, that gap is pretty unbearable. These buds have very minimal latency even with a dongle, on my iMac there is no discernable latency. Regards comfort, I used the foam ones straight off and found them to be extremely comfortable. One thing about my hearing aid is that it constantly itches and is painful even after about an hour. I wore these things for 6 hours yesterday and never even noticed them - apart from the fact I could actually hear! My main reason for buying these after some careful research is that hearing aids are massively overpriced. When I can get a device that does 1000 different things in top quality for £500 and a single hearing aid that just amplifies sound for £3000, something is wrong, the market is artificially inflated. Whilst these are expensive relatively and are not classed as hearing aids, yet as someone who has raging tinnitus, NIL and genetic hearing loss and has prescribed hearing aids, these are just far better in every possible way, with the only caveat being the occlusion and that you don't get any external sound naturally. I don't mind that however as sounds are reproduced faithfully within the buds and nothing is missed. When I heard that initial tone that played after completing the test I knew these were the ones, I think I actually got goosebumps! I can hear myself breathing for the first time in years, I can hear my footsteps on carpet, the mouse clicking and all the little sounds that had disappeared. You have a 14 day cooling off period (In the EU and a 2 year guarantee), so just buy them and try them. They won't suit everyone but they are an excellent alternative and whilst not the most discreet, with so many people wearing wireless ear buds, you don't have that same stigma attached to wearing an aid. My only real concern at this stage is battery life but that will hopefully sort itself out once I use them in a set routine.} Thanks for the vid, really enjoyed it and it was an excellent breakdown of them.
Actually, sometimes the comment are almost better than the video! Thankyou for this thorough analysis. I'm gonna get these (the boosts) in a day or two with mail, and these are the kind of thing I need to know. Ignore the first beep! Great advice! And lack of latency! Finally! In some situations it could be usefull to even use your mobile as a table microphone. Not at all diminishing the original review, this was incredibly useful!
I just bought a set of these and I can't rate them enough. So many great features. The best thing is you can use them as bluetooth headphones and they also work as hearing aids at the same time. IMO this is a brilliant feature.
You prolly dont care but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can stream pretty much all of the new series on instaflixxer. Been watching with my gf for the last couple of days :)
What about for callers on the other end of the line. Does these do a decent job suppressing outside noise for the callers. It was a big issue with the Jabra Elite 65t
Bluetooth connectivity is supposed to be better, however like Dr. Cliff, one of the problems I had with both the IQBuds and the Boost was discomfort. They need a soft plastic jacket so that they don't irritate the ear lob; Jabras and Bragis have this.
Hi there love your videos.. how would you compare these to the Bose Conversation enhancement headphones.. I am a 911 dispatcher with Sharkey hearing aids.. I want to try something different while at work . Thank you for the advice.
I'm a school teacher having trouble hearing the kid's questions. I did go to a doctor and he said I had mild hearing loss for my age, 58. He wanted to sell me an expensive hearing aid. I like the idea of this device or something like it but I will need to wear it all day not just three hours. Are there hearing amplifiers that are as comfortable as hearing aids?
I have tinnitus in my left ear but sound sensitivity in my right and yes so far I have experienced a substantial life quality increase. I wear them at work and at home, I love throwing them in when i go to the store. They have a 30 day money back guarantee so give it a shot, if they dont help just return the product. Ive had mine for 5 months and love them. did a warranty on my first pair and thye sent me a new pair almost instantly. If you do buy them there are some need to knows for long term wear that i will likely post on youtube when I go to vegas next weekend, want to see how they handle in super loud scenarios.
Mate I have had the boost for 3 months and i thing the sound quality is great, they allow you to hear the songs faid out that you normally wouldn't hear. They Have a 30 day money back Guarantee if you dont like them
Can I also use them as hearing protection on a construction site? Meaning that it’ll pick up someone yelling out measurements but cancel out a tool that’s over 80DB??? If these plugs do that I’m sold. I don’t want a 120DB grinder noise or power saw noise or rattle gun noise amplified in my ear haha
Very informative, but I am not a fan of the black and would like to see how they look in the ear. I would prefer a them to closely match my skin colour
I am looking for earbuds for music and noise cancelling. At the same time, I have a problem focusing when there are slight sounds present so I need an earbud that can lock out the sound. I want to ask if this is the earbud for me. Also iqbuds is less expensive than the boost version. Is the regular iqbuds enough for what I am using it for?
IQbuds don't offer full noise cancellation. However, they will largely dull/reduce the volume of ambient environmental noise. More importantly, they allow you to customize and filter the frequencies/types of sounds that will pass through the external mics from the outside world. So basically, you can listen to music, and selectively allow some outside sound (i.e. speech, etc) to filter through so that you are not entirely isolated while you are wearing the buds. With respect to IQbuds vs. BOOST, IQbuds should be fine for your needs unless you think you may have some degree of mild to moderate hearing loss, in which case BOOST is a better option as it has more powerful speech amplification and customization features that enable it to compensate for marginalized hearing. They also offer a 30-day return policy so it may be worth a try for you to at least test out.
Please be honest with me and tell me the truth, do the IQBuds Boost make the power beats 3 look like a complete joke in comparison? Of course they make the power beats 3 look like a complete joke in comparison
Buy IQbuds boost for the full price of 449€ and get an offer to buy them for half the price a week later. That happened to me. So DO NOT BUY THEM OVER 250€/$.

Thank you for the information. Thank you for your service in the Marines. I was a Navy Corpsman during the Viet Nam War. Semper Fi

@Nelson Lance yup, been watching on instaflixxer for since december myself =)
Are these any good if you have bad tinnitus?
What about for callers on the other end of the line. Does these do a decent job suppressing outside noise for the callers. It was a big issue with the Jabra Elite 65t
Is the bluetooth connectivity better now with boost than the original?
And is the ear ID worth the extra 200 dollars?
Chris Viliran Yes and they also make the power beats 3 look like a complete joke in comparison

Do you plan on reviewing the IQ Buds 2 Max?
Ditto.
Wow you are super informative in all your videos Clifford great job

When will these be available in the UK, please?
it is work for shooting? block loud explosive sound but not speech sound?
Can this product assist with quality of life for those suffering from Tinnitus?

Are these similar to ear monitors?
Informative review , thanks!
what's the quality of sound like with music?
Mate I have had the boost for 3 months and i thing the sound quality is great, they allow you to hear the songs faid out that you normally wouldn't hear. They Have a 30 day money back Guarantee if you dont like them
It's brilliant I'm enjoying a new found love of music, even over and above headphones.
I have hearing loss of 120 db. Is this product is useful for those who had such.
I am wondering how to turn up the volume on android phone? The maximum is not loud enough for me...do you recommend any apps?
Did you download the IQbuds app?
Can I also use them as hearing protection on a construction site? Meaning that it’ll pick up someone yelling out measurements but cancel out a tool that’s over 80DB??? If these plugs do that I’m sold. I don’t want a 120DB grinder noise or power saw noise or rattle gun noise amplified in my ear haha
They completely occlude the ear canal so they work great as plugs and you can set up to cut out background noise and just pick up voices.
Can I use only one in my left ear only?
Very informative, but I am not a fan of the black and would like to see how they look in the ear. I would prefer a them to closely match my skin colour

Can I wear it when swimming?
I work in a noisy environment, so would this be good just to have something to boost voice over the sound of machines for a few hours?
Would these help with APD?
It should, I have SPD I've been trying to find something like this, hopefully I can get it one day
Please be honest with me and tell me the truth, do the IQBuds Boost make the power beats 3 look like a complete joke in comparison?
