    When the zombie plague strikes, not even Earth's mightiest heroes are safe.
    Marvel Zombies: Heroes' Resistance is a co-operative board game for 1-4 players based on the core mechanisms of the Zombicide game series, bringing non-stop zombie action to a Marvel universe in which some heroes have been infected by an unknown virus that has been transformed them into zombies. In the game, you can control either the Marvel heroes to protect citizens...or the Marvel zombies to devour them.
    Fight the insatiable hunger, for heroes never die - they just change.

    5.0 - My absolutely favorite games. You can pry them out of my cold dead hands.
    4.5 - Love this game! At the same time missing something that would make it a 5. Could be hard to table, lacking variability, a little light, etc.
    4.0 - Really great game, almost always keeping, although has meaningful complaints as to what takes away from the experience.
    3.5 - Really enjoyed, don't love it, may lose out to better games but the idea of never playing again is a bit sad.
    3.0 - A good game, would play and suggest with the right people, if I never played it again wouldn't lose any sleep.
    2.5 - A game I'd play again , but will never suggest it myself
    2.0 - A game I don't want to play again
    1.5 - A game I can't find any reason to recommend
    1.0 - A game that is just bad.

    This is probably one of the best bang for your buck games I’ve ever purchased. One thing I do like better here than other Zombicide games is the playtime. Every scenario takes about an hour. I do agree though that I would like more hero zombies. I didn’t Kickstarter this one so I will definitely be looking to get X-Men Resistance when it hits retail.

    The way I see heroes resistance is like a good zombicide game to gift someone who doesn't have any of the previous versions. For people who already own previous zombicides the price point won't be much of an issue since they are used to spending 100$+ I agree with the points you made in this video.

    so i dont have this game (yet) so this is just a theory, but for balancing the game with 2 or 3 heroes, what do you think of maybe having each hero start off with 1 or 2 trait cards at the beginning of the game and keep all else equal? just a thought

    Really enjoying this game. I agree that what is in this particular box is limited, but after playing this box, I think it is likely I’ll cull black plague/green hoard in favor of the full marvel version when it arrives. Really enjoy the way they implemented this system.

    Pretty sure the full marvel zombies is 1-6 players so you could use 6 zombie heroes if you want so that won't be a problem in the full game. Just not sure if the difficulty will scale or if it will be easier with 6 characters lr not

    Is this basically the same game(play) as the X-men Resistance of the Kickstarter? In other words, is this a lighter version and still worth to get if you're expecting the full KS pledge?

    • @epepo
      @epepo Год назад +2

      Yes, it is the same gameplay, not the same contents, tho. IMHO, if you expect the full KS pledge, I'd pass. Maaaaaybe if you really really really can't wait to play as super heroes, and you plan on giving it away later. There's a few key differences, tho.
      -X-men resistance uses multiple man as the "basic zombie" and includes some spawn cards that say "multiply". They cause to spawn multiple man on top of other multiple man. Heroes' resistance uses basic zombies so that mechanic isn't included.
      -Heroes' resistance includes Happy Hogan as a bystander. Happy isn't included in the KS so that's one character who won't be available to us KS backers. However, since Heroes' resistance uses standees, that means Happy would be the only bystander without a mini, unless you print one yourself (or you could use a marvel heroclix one, I guess)
      -Also, heroes in heroes' resistance are supposed to have different abilities than the ones in the KS version, so you can use them as different versions of the characters, or alternate ones (such as white vision, etc)

      Only the sculpts for the characters are unique. Vision isn't in the KS core box though so if you want him you either have to buy the Hydra expansion or this retail box

    • @happyh.joyjoy654
      @happyh.joyjoy654 Год назад

      @@kumanight Not true. Abilities are different too. confirmed in the KS comments section.fou
      The tiles are copies from the standard core, so no gain there.
      But yeah, the zombie hero abilities are all different though, in addition to their sculpts. For instance Cap's abomination ability from the KS is giving walkers/Madroxes around him an extra action, while in HR it's cancelling hits on rolls of 5+.
      And the heroes have SOME DEGREE of difference as well, though of the two I can confirm only the blue skills seem to change. With HR Spider-man losing his ability to grab heroes/bystanders from adjacent zones at the cost of a power, to Web-Sling in the KS where he can spend power to move two (or was it three? I think it was three, but it could be either as it's been awhile) zones ignoring zombies. Panther in HR has his (awesome) ability to, at the cost of a power, reduce zombie toughness by 1 and reroll misses once, while in the MZ core he has adding dice for every six rolled and...another added affect, I forget what.
      So you're more or less looking at alt versions, both sculpts and (at least some) abilities of six living heroes (though no rules to play against them in the standard zombie-mode core) and four zombies abominations (though no rules to play as them with the standard core). Which for the price isn't terrible when you stack it up against the Artist Box (even if they'd have full rules to play as/against every character there).

    I don't know if it is luck or skill but my gaming group found this game to be incredibly easy. We played 3 scenarios (One at the start and the two last ones) and won with all with little strife. I thought we were playing it wrong but after seeing a few reviews and guides I don't think we did. Due to this I was very underwhelmed with my experience. I played Hulk and wanted to smash things but barely got to fight as it was more effective to do other things most of the time. I never leveled up in any scenario. Maybe this just is not the game for me.

      I think you are missing the part that this game is a side release. It’s not either “full” game. The full games are Marvel Zombies, and X-Men resistance. Both those full stand alone games come with miniatures for everything. This game is “heroes resistance”, it’s the little brother, and a side release more akin to something that would release to big box stores and a way to get people playing who wouldn’t normally spans that much on a board game, or don’t want that manny minis. This has standees for the zombies to drastically cut down on the price. This game is not $200 AUS in stores.
