Yes JK did a lot of rapping in their earlier songs .. that song was a clapback against the system in their country that just held the young people back from realising their dreams .. they were in school 16 hrs per day .. when they got jobs, they wouldn't even be paid because according to the bosses, they were getting experience .. some of their systems were very oppressive in my opinion .. They don't care if the song will be a hit or a not they just share what they want to share with us. Lots of kpop grps release songs for only to get more views ( No hate ) BTS don't stick with 1 genre, 1 concept or one thing which is only helps them to make hits and make them popular which is very rare in kpop.

Baby/"Old School" BTS is hard to beat!! We all love hearing JK rap!!!! I think they were quite brave at this young age to speak up about the subjects they sing/rap about (especially considering where they lived and the political environment of the time and how kpop was, even just 9 years ago).
I think there are so many elements to BTS success and global phenomenon, its not replicable. The core of it is just the members themselves : their sincerity and integrity, the relationship they have worked on with eachother and with ARMY. Its a once in a generation thing i think. I wish I had known BTS from these early eras, their energy was so inspirational. Every BTS era has a message of growth and encouragement that reflected their own personal growth, its fascinating to see. I cant wait to see their live concert saturday 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Both are concert staples...you haven't heard Lights which is so self affirming...because it's in Japanese. And you haven't reacted to any of their duets like Friends (Jimin and V), Even if You Die (V and Jin) and We Don't Talk Anymore (JK and Jimin) Then there are the BTS World songs like Heartbeat and Dreamglow and then the Covers like Perfect Man (Jimin, JK and J-Hope) and Autumn Outside the Post Office ( Jin). I think a lot of the evolution in their style comes as a result of growing up while in this industry and finding confidence in knowing that they have said what they wanted to say. The early years definitely have the flavor of youth fighting to make their message heard, as now they know it will not only be heard, but spread by an ARMY of fans who love & support them. 💜

I kinda miss the older rawer BTS. I wish they would do more of the hard hitting social commentary songs. I think with the state of the world and the hardships people are going through in todays world it's a needed message to inspire people to do something about it!
You’ve heard Jk rap before in other songs.. even their debut song he has a fast fire rap! This song was a risk when they released it bc you don’t fight back against authority in their culture. To expose the toxic cycle of the societal expectations that has led the ages of 10-19 in Korea to have the HIGHEST suicide rate in the world…. And making music about these taboo topics make them outcasts in their industry… so they made their way from the outside in by expanding and gaining support globally before domestically… it’s wild but something I love about them!

I kinda miss the older rawer BTS. I wish they would do more of the hard hitting social commentary songs. I think with the state of the world and the hardships people are going through in todays world it's a needed message to inspire people to do something about it!

You’ve heard Jk rap before in other songs.. even their debut song he has a fast fire rap! This song was a risk when they released it bc you don’t fight back against authority in their culture. To expose the toxic cycle of the societal expectations that has led the ages of 10-19 in Korea to have the HIGHEST suicide rate in the world…. And making music about these taboo topics make them outcasts in their industry… so they made their way from the outside in by expanding and gaining support globally before domestically… it’s wild but something I love about them!

the 'go chase your dreams' message is great and i'm happy they're talking about stuff like this but it would be nice if someone talked about us who don't have any dreams. no direction whatsoever. just living because that's what everyone around us wants us to do. i still love this song of course but i can't help but get sad when people talk about the meaning of the song because it doesn't speak to me at all

Never been a K or J Pop fan, but there is absolutely no denying how hard these boys work and the passion they have for what they do.
Side note: I'm a new subscriber and I'm working through the list of reactions. I don't know if I've missed it, or you haven't reacted to it yet, but Queen's Somebody to Love live in Montreal 1981 is the best live performance I've ever seen and I highly recommend it to anyone :)
