    Awesome - my fist worry was how it would limit my outdoor adventures. Thanks!

    I got one of these from the VA for free. Glad it's working for you.
    Part of the problem is really just shoving the CPAP at everyone. There's other appliances, especially mouthpieces that doctors will tell you are "not appropriate" but... they are. They may not be as good as the CPAP, but the claims of the CPAP's wondrous effects are wildly exaggerated - I've been on one 7 months and seen only minor improvements in sleep despite the machine's claim that I'm at under one event per hour.
    Beware the "sleep apnea" diagnosis - it's not that it's not real; it's that it's the ADHD of older adults, men especially. The eagerness to just get everyone on CPAP is ridiculous - I have never met a single person who has had a sleep study and not found to have it, and as medical equipment the machines are just wildly overpriced.
    I'm still tempted to take both machines into the driveway and beat them with a sledgehammer and tell the VA where it can go. I just don't buy that you can't get good effects from a mouthpiece, and even if you can't I'm going to go thru hiking when I retire regardless of medical risks. We are beset with risk-averse medical paranoia.

      I haven’t looked at the mouthpieces but am curious about how effective they might be. Would love to hear from someone who has used them.

      @Foxtrot_Adventures i got an expensive one off Amazon and used it on a 30 mile hike. Its hard to compare because theres an adjustment phase of it being in your mouth while you try to fall asleep. But i did sleep once I got used to it.

    Thanks for your great video! Does your nasal passage dry out when you use this CPAP?

      While this one doesn’t have the reservoir/humidifier it doesn’t bother me. I imagine it might be different for everyone. Best of luck! 🤞

    How long does the battery take to charge using the solar panel?

    • @Foxtrot_Adventures
      @Foxtrot_Adventures  10 месяцев назад +1

      I believe they say it is about 4 hours to get a full charge, from zero. I would say this is accurate. It’s pretty amazing how well it works; especially when you can get some good sun.

      @@Foxtrot_Adventures Do you setup the solar panels when you get to camp or put them on your pack?

    • @Foxtrot_Adventures
      @Foxtrot_Adventures  9 месяцев назад +1

      @@undertwotimes it’s too big to strap to my pack, in my opinion. I definitely put it out first thing on a trail break and when I get to camp.

    Hey I just subscribed to your channel.I also like the out doors,and have sleep apnea.I just purchased the resmed air mini.with solar panel kit.took it bikepacking this weekend,and my mask was full of condensation after 3 hours off use.any knowledge on this would be helpful thanks.

    • @Foxtrot_Adventures
      @Foxtrot_Adventures  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for sharing. I haven’t experienced that. The Resmed Air Mini doesn’t have a humidifier. I’m curious as to how yours got so much condensation. Was there a lot of humidity?

    • @rudyguadron2243
      @rudyguadron2243 5 месяцев назад +1

      @Foxtrot_Adventures well it was about 42 degrees out on the C and O trail.and I was in my tent and the condensation built over a 3 hour period and had to stop using it.I wonder if the humid X filter and the temperature outside,had to do with the condensation.I took my mask off it was like getting a shot glass of water in the face.hahahahaha

    What is the noise level?

    • @Foxtrot_Adventures
      @Foxtrot_Adventures  3 месяца назад

      The AirMini has a 30 decibel sound level, which is considered whisper quiet. This is somewhat louder than ResMed's standard PAP machines, which operate at 27 decibels. Even so, the AirMini is quieter than the average travel device.
