this may sound fucked up but this is my favorite mission, the way Private Allen knows that he has to kill the civilians unless he blows his cover is quite haunting, it goes against everything he was told not to do in the rangers and yet he is doing just that. all in the name of protecting his country and in the end he only doomed it
It's one of the first red flags of Shepherd's betrayal later on in the game as future reference. When he said that "It would cost him a piece of himself". That was the first sign in the story as later on you realised that Shepherd knew Makarov would discover his identity before the massacre started, but Makarov used him as a catalyst for the near future. He was a puppet used by both Shepherd and Makarov. Makarov used him as the one who "lights the match", as Price references in the next game. Americans think of Allen as a Martyr, and most the Russians still blame America for the massacre. Shepherd intentionally sent him to die to lessen the other perspectives on his own point of view so he could right history in his own image by any means necessary.
Yeah I had this idea (against the FSB squad) that you absolutely must make this count and not die for nothing. However... That's my least replayed mission.
And he isn't the only one picking up an m249 saw. Later that day on the news: cctv footage shows that one of the kids said something out call of duty Modern warefare 2 and the line went like this: remember no russian.
Man the way the music just drums out at 8:50 mark. I think this plays when the massacre is over so it's kind of like allen realizing the weight of what he has done
This is legitimately terrifyingly heart pounding. When I close my eyes and listen to this it puts me directly in the scenery of the Terminal amidst the slaughter. Masterfully arranged score… literal nightmare fuel
Also worth noting, this theme for the massacre and for Allen's death mimics the theme of the final fight with Shepherd especially during the end of No Russian, and his betrayal during Loose Ends mimics the first theme for Wolverines!, when America is first invaded. It's interesting that despite Makarov being held to blame for Allens death and the invasion of the US for most of the game, once you reach Act III one might realize through the music that the game instinctively ties these things together and fixates you to the real villain of 2; Shepherd. Balfe's way of expressing the story arc at this point truly is amazing.
This song is the aural representation of a spiraling descent into the abyss of madness and hatred. Where all thoughts of degenerate into evil and violence. The climax where mental sanity degenerates and explodes into a show of violence where even the purest dies and the most evil prevails.
What makes this scary is the fact that it sounds muffled, like it's playing in your head as you commit genocide inside the airport. Then, later on, it gets louder as you finish murdering everyone, and then it escalates to the "oh shit, this isn't gonna end well" music around 8:24, right as you're walking up to the van to "escape." Bravo, Infinity Ward.
That is right. It would be even scarier if Tetris 99 gets a skin based on Call of Duty 2009: Modern Warfare 2 and the music/sound scheme comes from the airport level, complete with a Russian airport in the skin's background. 99-player music: Airport Stalk (Muffled Multiplayer Version) - 0:00 50-player notification sound: Elevator Ding (when leaving the airport's elevator) 50-player music: No Russian (Level 4 Main Theme, Loud Full Version) - 3:26 10-player notification sound: Tactical Nuke acquisition sound (there were no other suitable sounds from the airport level) 10-player music: Ordinance (Level 4 version, different from what plays in "Endgame" level) - 8:24 "Double Cross" (10:48) would be the winning theme and the losing theme because the player's character, Joseph Allen, dies at the end of the "No Russian" level. By not using any music in the results screen at all, the MW2 skin's music/sound scheme would be like the airport level. It is why the airport level music/sound scheme would be much more anxiety-inducing in Tetris 99 than in the airport level in Call of Duty 2009: Modern Warfare 2. My explanations really do sum up why the airport level music is terrifying stuff. Your explanation is well-done, and so is mine. Remember, Arika - no Russian.
Makarov and General Shepard was working together not as a team but to reach their own goals. Basically used to spark world War 3. Think about it. Why would a general hand pick a private in the army that's just did one battle to do a top secret cia mission that general Shepard said himself "it cost a lot of money to get you next time him" also markov is very smart and use the private Cia puppet and killed him off at the end like it was a gift from Shepard. In real life we know the Cia is sparking wars all around the world. Definitely sticks to the theme of modern warfare. Good thing both of them Is dead.
I think Sheppard purposely leaked Allen's identity as undercover agent, so Makarov could make his false flag attack. Not directly though. idealy he would have Allen betray himself, by mentioning already compromised sources.
This song has always stood out to me for not sounding like your typical CoD song. It took me years but I finally figured out why; it feels like it's emulating the terrorist theme songs from the Rainbow Six games, especially Vegas 2's "Nightclub" theme.

I agree with you on how much tension and anxiety the airport mission's music generates. It would be even scarier if Nintendo, Activision, and Arika were to add a Call of Duty 2009: Modern Warfare 2 theme for Tetris 99 and that skin was based on the "No Russian" level, complete with this as the music scheme: 99 Players: Airport Stalk (Alternate Multiplayer Version) - 0:00 50 Players: No Russian (Level 4's Main Theme) - 3:26 10 Players: Ordinance (also used in "Endgame" level) - 8:24 The elevator ding would be the "50 players remaining" notification sound, and the multiplayer mode's Tactical Nuke acquisition sound would be the "10 players remaining" notification sound. Double Cross (10:48) would be used as the victory and defeat themes because the player dies at the end of the "No Russian" level; without any music in the results screen after "Double Cross" finishes, the MW2 skin would truly feel like the "No Russian" level from start to end. It all sums up why the "No Russian" level's music themes sound like a mix of tension, anxiety, and fear.

You know it is well-done when I would sometimes play that music scheme in the background while I watch videos of 99-player battle royale games where the last one standing wins. It fits very well when playing Tetris 99. The 3-second countdown sound would be the elevator floor sounds before the elevator arrives, and Vladimir Makarov saying "С нами Бог (S nami Bog - God is with us.)" would begin the match before the elevator arrives. 0:00 - when Vladimir Makarov says "S nami Bog" to begin the match. 3:26 - when the elevator dings to signify its arrival when 50 players are left. 8:24 - when the Tactical Nuke acquisition sound plays to signify that 10 players are left. 10:48 - what each of the 98 eliminated players hears upon losing, and what the last one left hears upon getting a Tetris Maximus (win). Without any music in the results screen after "Double Cross" finished, that music scheme would be a lot more anxiety-inducing in Tetris 99 than in the actual airport level. Remember, Arika - no Russian.
Remember, Arika - no Russian. If Tetris 99 were to have a theme based on Call of Duty 6 (2009): Modern Warfare 2, or if someone were to play Tetris 99 in an airport, this would be the music scheme. 0:00 - when Tetris 99 enters an airport to begin the battle royale puzzle match. "С нами Бог." (S nami Bog, or "God is with us." in Russian) 3:26 - when 50 players are left and the elevator dings. "Remember - no Russian." 8:24 - when 10 players are left and an alarm sounds. "30 seconds! Go!" 10:48 - what eliminated players hear upon losing, and what the last one left hears upon winning. "That was no message. This is a message." That would be much scarier and more nerve-wracking in Tetris 99 than in the "No Russian" level. Even the quotes go well with the music sequence and the notification sounds (elevator ding at 50 players, with multiplayer Tactical Nuke acquisition sound at 10 players). The airport level is frightening because it is supposed to be disturbing.
Additionally, it would play during a match of Tetris 99 to make it much more anxiety-inducing in the puzzle battle royale than in the actual airport level. 0:00 - when the match begins after Vladimir Makarov says "С нами Бог (S nami Bog, or God is with us)". 3:26 - when 50 players are left and the elevator dings to indicate elevated seriousness. 8:24 - when 10 players are left, with the Tactical Nuke acquisition sound playing to indicate tense seriousness. 10:48 - what the last one left hears upon getting a Tetris Maximus (win), and what each of the match's other 98 players hears upon losing. Without any music in the results screen after "Double Cross" finishes, it tops off the scariness of a hypothetical Call of Duty 2009: Modern Warfare 2 skin that one would create for Tetris 99... Remember, Arika - no Russian.
Im optimistic on how the No Russian scene will play out for MW3, since it’s a remake, The creators can do their own thing, either this will be equally controversial to MW2 (2009) or completely different, either way, I’m optimistic for the trilogy, and I love the direction, it’s more realistic and with it taking place in the modern day is pretty cool, and yeah u can argue with the story, I find it pretty good despite some issues with MW2 (2022) but I wonder how the third one will wrap things up Edit: I would like to apologize for saying this, and that MW3 was f***d up thanks to Activision

This shit never gets old!
Nobody:
March when it's a leap year:
Imagine if this was played in the siren
the airport be like.
*gunshots and this song will play on loop*
mix of in-game music with in-world sfx?
could work, the siren would be the distorded piano keys playing in the background
Remember, no Bucha.
3:05 best bit
My mind when hearing this after 2022:
(The sound of the Joker's laugh piercing through the screams)
The first scene at the elevator, combined with Cold War's version makes going into a elevator IRL pretty awkward.
This way lets go.
that sound.... thank god they knew to get Hans on this
You know it is well-done when I would sometimes play that music scheme in the background while I watch videos of 99-player battle royale games where the last one standing wins.
Remember.. No Russians
makarov is crazy just becuase for imran zheqahev he shoot his own country man makarov needs his mind but its a crazy mission
Aint it crazy how it was orchestrated by a CIA operative and its attack left many dead on both sides? Hmmmmmmmm.
IW did this mission dirty in MW3.
How? They made you the hero.
Play this with the 19-2 show school ep.
Imagine you hear this in an airport 💀💀💀💀💀💀
This probably gave us Gamer PTSD
"that was no message"
"Do you have the DSM?"
*Shoots Pvt. Allen*
"This is a message"
i hate how this mission got dissolved into a meme by cringy edgy 10 year olds
and also by anti-russian fanatics
blame the president, not the citizens
"Bro i swear im mentally stable!"
"0:00 starts playing"
the heart ticks for me, but against yew?
Remember,no rushin
soundtrack of eastern Europe right now... a sad day :(
We need someone to do shit like this but in real life in moscow for revenge
Only "sad" because the West fears competition.
@@Setiv1101 ahhh yes killing many innocent civilians in revenge for the acts of a government, sounds about right…

Remember no Russian.
"С нами Бог." (S nami Bog, or "God is with us." in Russian)
3:26 - when 50 players are left and the elevator dings. "Remember - no Russian."
8:24 - when 10 players are left and an alarm sounds. "30 seconds! Go!"
10:48 - what eliminated players hear upon losing, and what the last one left hears upon winning. "That was no message. This is a message."
That would be much scarier and more nerve-wracking in Tetris 99 than in the "No Russian" level. Even the quotes go well with the music sequence and the notification sounds (elevator ding at 50 players, with multiplayer Tactical Nuke acquisition sound at 10 players). The airport level is frightening because it is supposed to be disturbing.
Актуалочка
I love playing call of duty
I'm 11 years old and i love this mission
Buffalo New York, and now Uvalde Texas, just with this month of bloody May.
Remember, no American.
When the boys enter the airport
"For Zakhaev"
1:19 creeps
So Makarov is the prize
Me and the boys walking into the furry convention:
Kinda fucked up that my 7yo self saw this without even flinching😂
this gets real when the ems sirens start playing
Im optimistic on how the No Russian scene will play out for MW3, since it’s a remake, The creators can do their own thing, either this will be equally controversial to MW2 (2009) or completely different, either way, I’m optimistic for the trilogy, and I love the direction, it’s more realistic and with it taking place in the modern day is pretty cool, and yeah u can argue with the story, I find it pretty good despite some issues with MW2 (2022) but I wonder how the third one will wrap things up
Edit: I would like to apologize for saying this, and that MW3 was f***d up thanks to Activision
@@endch4 no it will be worse cause this time there will be dead kids but I don't think we will get to play it this time I think we will ether just hear about what happened or if we do play it we will be playing as one the police trying to stop Makarov and his men this time since there is no way Karen and Carl will let us enjoy this iconic controversial mission again like it was in 2009 in 2028
@@Zegin17 some streamers that got invited to SHG to see mw3 said that the first mission is the no russian remake and you will get to play it.
@@Zegin17Well, uhh so how are you holding up after the showcase of Passenger.
@@edwardrichtofen9112 it was worse then I predicted, Although the real No Russian mission was actually Flashpoint and like I predicted we didn't play as the bad guys in instead playing as Captain Price and Soap. Disappointment as expected.
bad news the new no russsian sucks compared to the old one i came here just to tell you that
Uh oh
Me when I was 8 my older brother played this mission and I was scared of him for a week bcus what he did 🤣🤣🤣🤣
