Gonna miss those F59’s. The last true locomotive looking passenger loco in my eyes, and who couldn’t love the sound of an F59 just givin ‘er from a dead stop.
Great video, Michael! I only wish you had aimed your camera the other way so we could see the west end of west-bound GO trains, with their cool driver cars.
I believe, for 2018, they'd definitely run on the Richmond Hill line and quite possibly on the Stouffville and Barrie lines. I live on the Milton though and don't get out to those sides of the city.
This was the western approach so they were most likely running on the Barrie line. The Barrie line used to be my regular line from Aurora and they would run small trains mainly during off peak hours
I think all 8 that survived past 2011 are still left (though I'm not sure), and they will be replaced soon, though I'm not sure exactly when that'll be. I also don't know what their disposition will be after that.
@@mercedes8192 well, personally I think that the MP54's would be more appropriate than F59PHI's. However, although there are none in nature, there are some pictures online of F59PHI's in the GO Transit livery.
Superbaddy4 I heard most of the F59’s went to Montreal for their commuter trains. I believe two or three of them went to Chicago’s Metra. Four went to Dallas’s commuter trains. Some of them have gone to Los Angeles for metro link.
The train on the right at 4:49 is pulling not one, not two, but THREE Bi-Level Coach Units!!! How do I know this? Look at the top of each car on that train as it goes by and you can see all the utensils such as bells and the horns on three of the cars.
And another train on the left with three bi level coach car units at 13:48 Another one with three at 20:24 One right after at 20:57 Three more bi level units at 22:21
I think it's so they can accelerate as fast as the Mp40's with the 10 car config, also they use them more for off peak service when there isnt as much need for 10 or 12 cars
@MichaelLovesTrains - If those EMD (F59) locomotives are about to be retired , sell them to "METRA" (Chicago, illinois, USA) they greedy rip them out of your hand, they only love EMDs & noting else, they are desprerately about to buy cargo EMDs & re-gear them for passanger operation , see the videos from "Alan Fisher": "Metra Exemplifies Everything Wrong with American Passenger Rail" ( watch?v=H2EWqoiLKHU ) + "NJ transit vs Metra with future plans - RUclips" ( watch?v=LjEwhigKZhA )

Even in India , almost the entire railway lines are electrified. May be diesel is available there .

How many F59s do GO Transit have left? Do they plan to eventually replace them all with them MP54's?

This is pretty good, but what would make it a lot better is if CN and CP had about two dozen Freight Trains mixed in there. That would be Too Cool

4:12 That MP40PH was bouncing around a lot, as well as the Bi-Level cars
that section of track is really bouncy because of all the frogs.
It was at a switch, to be fair

Those run on the lower demand lines. The Stouffville line has them, and notice the one outbound around 2:28 was headed toward the Kitchener line.
They are not as powerful as the MP40's and MP54's, on VERY VERY rare occasions you may see 2 F59's pulling a 12 car lakrshore train.
Can you do a video of montreal please
I dont think he will go all the way to montreal for a video, sorry man
He already did stupid 😂

Can anyone tell me why there are one or more Bi-Level Cab Car Units mixed in with the train?
With the introduction of the CEM cab cars, most of the earlier cabs were deactivated and made mid train coaches.
