    Sliding the cables between the psu and front panel is a TIP I haven’t seen for this case after watching a few videos, so thank you for that! Waiting for this case to arrive and I’m going to try fit my matx build into it. Only thing I’m worried about is my current Psu isn’t modular so probably gonna end up switching that out but I’ll still try 😂 great video as always !

    I was impressed by this case when I saw it a few days ago, so I went ahead and ordered it. I didn't go for the glass panel because of thermal issues that I didn't want to deal with. Anyway, I used an ITX motherboard with a 360mm AIO mounted on the side panel. I set the fans as intake because I wanted the radiator cooled by cool air, not the warm air inside the case. Also, side mounting the AIO makes it easier for me to access the connections on the motherboard. I have fat fingers! =) I installed an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU. Since I used an ITX motherboard, the GPU sat high up and I was able to install a couple of 120mm Noctua intake fans on the bottom grill. With this configuration, I was able to install a 120mm intake fan on the back, and a couple of 120mm exhaust fans on the top. As for cable management, I didn't have any problems routing the fan cables where the power cable extension was. I could have put a third 120mm on the bottom, but I used that space to house the cables. Everything was neatly tucked under the side mounted PSU, which I placed on the highest setting. I am a happy camper. =)

      @@Necromancerbob-zp7us One thing Gear Seekers mentioned in their review was that the top radiator mounts weren't removable which would allow you to install the PSU before an AIO and if you needed to do anything with an AIO or radiator you would be able to just pull it from the top instead of having to fully uninstall the PSU to even get to it. He did mention that it might have been done in order to maintain rigidity for the chassis, plus you can kind of do that with the side mount.

  • @magoid

    I did the jump to MATX a couple years ago. I already had a case with a compact horizontal footprint (but tall, like a building), and last year I got a "cube" case with a internal layout that I consider ideal.
    The motherboard is in the horizontal, with the PSU below it. The whole thing is about a 30cm/1ft in all dimensions. No more "compact" anything for me, since the only limitation is that the GPU must be up to 30cm in length, but that only exclude really top end overclocked cards, or smaller ones with oversized cooling (looking at you, RTX4060 bigger than a 4080...).
    Besides the GPU length limitation, it also don't support liquid cooling, but as a firm believer in air cooling, that don't affect me, since it can accommodate big air coolers.
    It is also super easy to work with, since all panels are removable and there is no component getting squashed into each other. And the cherry on top is: no more GPU sag for me.

    Very toight! I see that the tempered glass side panel is an accessory to be purchased separately. Newegg has the case and they have the panel, but the panel isn't addable or even "people also bought this" from the case page - You have to go find it with your own searching skills. It costs $18 for the panel. I really like this case at $70. I just kinda like it at $88. Wish we had more footage of the complete build with the mesh panel on.

    A very nice review but incomplete. While many of us are "into" the ITX and mATX space for our builds, many reviews like this fail to test cooling using air coolers. i doubt that few if any air coolers could match the cooling performance of an AIO, but I'll wager they could come close. I've moved away from AIOs due to cost, noise and well documented failures (some catastrophic) of which i've had one. I doubt using an air cooler would affect performance but you are using a budget case so how about some love for budget air coolers which are a good option for budget conscious builders. Thanks.

    It's a great case but for some reason there are no high end mATX AM5 motherboards in sight... There's one B650E from Biostar (and impossible to buy just about anywhere) and Asus X670E Gene that is both outrageously expensive and also discontinued - it's the only mATX motherboard that comes with USB4. I really, really hope new AM5 chipsets will improve this situation... allegedly all X870 motherboards will have USB4 as standard. Lets see how many mATX board will we get this time...

  • @justincase2312
    @justincase2312 7 месяцев назад

    Now cases require 3 slots minimum for the GPU, they may as well add another slot for mATX support, barely needing to change the dimensions of the case.
    Would normally say that boards with the x16 slot as the second slot down are a bad idea for SFF builds, as it means that the GPU is starved of air up against the bottom of the case where the PSU usually sits. In this case it was a really good idea, being close to the ventilated case bottom.

  • @kevinm8715
    @kevinm8715 3 месяца назад +1

    It reminds me a bit of the Jonsbo i100 Pro, which is a nearly identical size but seems to have been planned for more of a sandwich layout using AIO. I'm curious about the A3 though, if you put in a 3-slot/60mm thick GPU is there enough space at the bottom to install 15mm thick fans like the Arctic Slim line? If you had 3x120mm at the bottom and 3x120mm at the top with a big air cooler on the CPU (NH-D15 or Peerless Assassin) then you'd have a fairly small, really solid air-cooled system even if you used the glass side panel.

    • @wrxzboost
      @wrxzboost 29 дней назад

      i'm trying to figure out this setup with a 4070 ti super. 3 slim line 120mm fans at the bottom, 3 120 fans at the top, the biggest question is which motherboard gets you the higher slot positions for the GPU.

    Considering the ASUS AP201 did this ages ago, I am not sure why it is such a big deal. It is a nice looking case though!

    This isn't a case that should ask you if you should go itx, as those are still smaller and cool just fine for most configurations. This case should ask why does anyone need a mid tower or bigger.

      I was thinking the same. The problem would be dust. But having all fans on exhaust means it's negative pressure so there will be dust coming in from the back anyway.

    If I'd been Lian Li/Dan I'd 've ripped off the Fractal North for the front. Bit of a let-down that ABS. Exactly the Graphics card, CPU, and fans I was wondering about when I first saw this case; off to Bolton soonest!

    It's an odd shape both big and small at the same time. Problem is these "quad slot" graphics cards are just way too oversized.

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  7 месяцев назад

      Yes the size of graphics cards is getting out of control, other thing is most AMD mATX board have the first PCie Slot one slot lower than the top case slot so it makes the case only a 3 slot for most AMD mATX users.
