That is so awesome! As a retired elementary school teacher, I have seen the Arts in our school make a difference for so many students….

Love that they have this type of positive program for the inmates. Let's them see for themselves that there are better things out there for them.

As someone who taught poetry writing with people who were incarcerated and saw what happens I can testify that arts programs are a no-brainer.

We have a similar program here in Missouri. It's called Prison Performing Arts. They have a wonderful story on NPR radio.

I have been involved in theater for 13 years now. I have never been in prison, but theater has allowed me to express myself artistically and make lifelong friends.

I wish this report had taken a minute to point out WHY so many released from prison end up incarcerated again. Poverty and high hurdles for them to reintegrate into society needs more focus. What percentage of inmates get to participate in a program like this?

Theatre is therapy, communication, and psychology made flesh. It encourages emotional expression, catharsis, empathy, and creativity. That's what it's all about.

Sounds like it works to me. I'm all for rehabilitation. We need to help some of these men not just shut them away.

It is time for us as American citizens, or taxpayers here in America for our elected officials, the past lol to change the way that prisons are operated. As of right now prisons are not operating as a rehabilitation for criminals, so when they do become released into the public. They are an asset. We as Americans taxpaying citizens pay more on inmate than anywhere in the world and we’re not seeing a return on our investments.
