    Can also root the cutting to grow as a new plant 👍

      ​@@dkadwoa4114 You can remove the lower leaves on the cutting and just leave the top leaves.
      Then root the stem in water. The nodes where you removed the lower leaves is where the new roots will come out of.
      You can also plant directly into soil, making sure to bury the new nodes and it will become a new plant.

    Remember to stop the hydra from forming more head You must burn it after you cut one head off to stop regeneration.

    Do you wash your pruning shears with bleach ?
    My Tomato crops suffer from pest and disease, so i wash them with bleach then soapy water.

    I stopped pruning like that because i don't want to get tall. I just picked the top buds before it flowered so it spread into a brush up to 1 feet only with green thick leaves. Basil is super easy to grow i just water it no water is too muchh for them. It loves the showers more is better and grow super quick. As a matter of facts i only grew it once the next year it grows itself and self care lol no nutrients, or mulche added i just water it daily lots of it, thrives like crazy! Even 120 degree yes

      Thanks for the instructions on its care. I didn’t know to do this. The basil I’m growing seems so fragile. It doesn’t like full sunlight it seems so it’s hidden in the shade of a raised bed and seems to be doing well there.

      Use an ice cube tray instead! Way easier!

      Just make pesto and then freeze it on some wax paper on a baking tray, then peel them off and throw in a container once they're frozen

      Yes it goes to flower and then seed at the end of its season, that is how it reproduces itself :)
      The flowers are pretty but slow down production.

      I believe most plants you see that aren't cone bearing plants, ferns or mosses grow flowers and bare fruit

    To make an even bigger or more lush forest of basil, root your prunings! It is so easily propagated!

      Do some research on watering and spacing. Over watering and overcrowded planting creates an atmosphere perfect for pests.
