I’ve seen some Percy Jackson fans in the comments arguing that this is about him because of the Pegasus reference, so I’ll explain the link to the Perseus of mythology if anyone’s interested/doesn’t know it. In many versions of the story Medusa is pregnant due to Poseidon raping her in Athenas temple (the reason she is a gorgon to begin with). When Perseus cuts off her head her children are formed from her blood (or the soil it leaks into, depending on the version): these being Chrysaor (humanoid, sometimes described as a giant others as a human) and Pegasus. In one version of the story Perseus does actually ride Pegasus to go and save Andromeda instead of just using his winged sandals. Hope this helped anyone interested in the mythology!
Okay but am I the only one who feels bad for Medusa? Like- she was beautiful before but because Poseidon couldn’t keep it in his pants and forced himself on her IN ATHENA’S TEMPLE OF WHICH SHE WAS A VIRGIN PRIESTESS FOR- She got turned into a gorgon (some stories say it was done by Athena for either revenge or to help her get away from men) and then she gets killed even though she never asked to be like that, she never wanted to turn everyone to stone
