Those glass sliders do come out if you push up on the tracking each way. I have 10 of these enclosures there called critter condos.

What’s a good way to control the cleanup crew population in the culture outside centipedes do it but I don’t want my guy getting bit so I take him out and bake the cage it has not been effective I can’t keep plants in there needless to say but he is always on top of his rock hides because the bugs are out of control my next move was going to be spraying the enclosure with rubbing alcohol and lighting it on fire a dangerous move not to mention when my big snakes in the past attacked me and my standbys didn’t have the experience needed I used ethanol to get them off me so I don’t want my new one to get used to the smell I like the idea of a bio active setup I don’t breed I just keep them as pets but I’m really thinking about going back to a sterile environment I was thinking small toads for the isopod pop maybe a small spider for the spring tails but I’m shooting in the dark here

I haven't had any issues with my culture getting out of control. I see isopods from time to time but thats about it. I'm actually thinking of going back to sterile for the one retic just because the clean up crew hasn't been keeping up as well now that he's getting bigger. I love the idea of bioactive and it works well for my corn snakes but the retic is so destructive I can't keep anything alive plant wise other then the one that refuses to die. The only way to really get them under control would be to change out your substrate and introduce a small colony into the new substrate but then you could have this issue again in a year.

You realise that you can take the glass out by lifting it up into the top track and then pulling it out

Well aware. Cheap manufacturer, glass has no room to move up and down. I had to install the glass while putting it together. I'm going to replace the glass with the proper size at some point. It's also 1/8" glass and I would rather had 1/4" like I do for the adult enclosures.

It's one of the cheap $300 1/2" pvc enclosures off ebay.... so I wasn't really that suprised.
