Loved this more deep dive style of video where you walk us through your thought processes! It's cool to see you acknowledge that while it might be a little overkill at the moment, you're thinking ahead and making sure you're writing scalable code, very inspiring as a junior dev!
Hey Jacob, I loved the video! The part where you explained how your count feature works was really insightful. Just a small suggestion: maybe make the camera box a bit smaller so we can see more of what you're showing us, similar to Josh tried coding videos. Have you posted about your tech stack in your previous videos? If not, would you consider making a video about it?
Hey, thanks for your comment, I've made a note and will make my face-cam smaller in my next video. It's great to hear that you found the explainer part of the video insightful - I feel most of the "day in the life" videos on RUclips skip the technical details so I'm trying to make a change with that. 🔥
Don't try shock yourself by getting up super early, just aim to wake up 15 mins earlier every day until you get to where you want. Thanks for your comment 🔥
Hey Jacob, I really enjoy following your entrepreneur journey (that's a path I'd like to follow !). I think your UI looks great so I was wondering how you learned this topic? Thanks a lot !
Thanks so much for your kind words! I'm glad to hear you're enjoying my entrepreneurial journey. My goal is to share the ups and downs so you can learn from my experiences and hopefully avoid some of the mistakes I've made. Keep pushing forward on your path, and feel free to ask any questions along the way!
Not related to this video specifically, but website dev in general, let's say a user kept the website on their screen 24/7. How would you force them to refresh if a new version of the app has been deployed?
Hey, thanks for your comment and great question. You have a few options (after quick research) 1) Polling for version changes 2) WebSocket for real-time updates... (there was more - have a Google yourself). It really depends on what the website is going to be used for, if it's a live data feed which is likely to be all the time I'd recommend WebSockets but if you just expect updates to occur every few hours, then polling (every hour or so) would make more sense! Hope this helps 👊
Thanks for your comment! So I’ve been implementing a few. Firstly starting with my own network of people who I know and on LinkedIn who may be interested in interlu. Secondly some cold email (which worked getting a few demos). Finally I’m building lead magnets (I haven’t spoken about these yet - but will share learnings soon). I spoke to a few people about the idea before building it, but I knew I wanted to use it - so I got building and started marketing when the first basic version was ready.

Hello Jacob, I love your content! Quick question here; What marketing strategies did you use for this product and how soon did you start marketing?

What do you use for backend?
I use a simple heroku instance, but could/should be using an EC2 instance tbf !
great job and content bro!
Thank you 🙏 so much more to come 🚀🫡
