This morning, with Bodge out, I found myself engaged in casual conversation with Kanya. She's always a beacon of happiness, but there was a noticeable tinge of melancholy when she spoke about her children. The morning drifted by leisurely until the afternoon when I headed into the heart of Chiang Mai.
To prepare funds for souvenir shopping, I visited a highly recommended currency exchange I found online. A much-needed break followed at a coffee shop that served the coconut-infused iced coffee I'd been yearning to try. Although it was still early for the night market, I indulged in a rejuvenating hour-and-a-half massage. A small pang of hunger led me to swiftly devour a plate of Chicken Khao Soi, finishing with the usual indulgence of Sticky Mango Rice for dessert.
After shopping, hunger struck again, so I enjoyed some stir-fried greens while listening to a schoolgirl strumming her guitar and singing. With my stomach content, I headed back to Safe House. Tomorrow, I'll venture to the elephant sanctuary Kanya recommended. Who knows what adventures await?
