Man I love knowing nothing about dream smp. To me this is just a song about a group of people in a world where they could die any minute, but to a fan of dream smp this could be a song about something really important
This is _amazing,_ why is this fandom full of talented artists, amazing songwriters, deep and inspiring people, and such beautiful voices? This is genuinely the only fandom I've ever been/am in that has such a powerful fandom, for better or worse. We spill into everything else, sometimes it's drama and hatred but when you really look at us you know those are simply what come with fame and power. We're more than just a fandom, we've got so many beautiful and sweet voices and kind minds amongst us, the toxic voices simply scream too loud for others to hear our soft melodies and powerful words. We gotta decimate the toxics with our talents, we can't let them take over the once-beautiful lands of our fandom!! We can't let us be known for our hate and mistakes when we do die out. We need to rise up like the SMP against the tyrants we let run rampant like Schlatt in Manberg.
Every time I find a new artist (specifically song artists) I swear I just end up doing a commentary on the fandom/other things I relate a song to and it's so funny cause I've always been this way.
This little piece of commentary actually _does_ relate to the song... How Niki's voice is so much stronger and heard so much better when she joined the Syndicate. That they only want to break free of control from tyrants and hatred and their pasts. That the Syndicate is meant to help, not destroy everything. Other fandoms have gotten close, but this is really the only fandom I've seen that has truly opened up and this really just should be highlighted! I guess it's because of the way the SMP presents itself; the raw, informal acting, plot and Minecraft setting really opens up to head-canons and fan art, and once one person does it, everyone else follows! And now, every member on the Dream SMP promotes it all, which is just so cool! I love how this fandom has brought out so many talented and underrated artists! Same tho, i've been in numerous fandoms and yeah you'll see fanart and fanfics with artists and writers but the DSMP fandom just had a surplus with more talented people joining. My wife and I spent a bunch of time listening to this and analysing. They picked out the switch from the 4 beat tempo to the 3 beat tempo, and as a musician they found it fascinating.

It was done to make the chorus feel a bit like a waltz. also, since we're on the topic, you may not have noticed, but I used anticipated chords (around 1:42) to make it seem as if the song is still in 3/4, but it actually switches back to 4/4

And yep around 1:42 they were confused for a bit about what was happening. We didn't quite understand what it was, but we did listen to it a few times to figure out what the tempo was. So that explains it :) Very fun way of crafting a song!
1. i've been listening to this on repeat for half an hour oh my god 2. the line "your voice will be heard" at the end makes me so happy because niki has talked about how both her and character are so used to being talked over and ignored, but during the syndicate stream everyone actually let her speak and listened to her. it just makes me love this group even more and i can't wait to see what they do next
During the entirety of the dsmp lore (I think) Nihachu wanted to be heard. To be of value. She didn't feel that she was important in Manburg. She was kicked out in Manburg, after all. Forced to pay extra taxes. Fundy betrayed her and burnt their flag. The flag that showed independence. The last sign she had of freedom. And hope. She joined pogtopia, and helped with the revolution against Manburg. They won and Nihachu finally got her freedom back. Then, Wilbur left during the ceremony. He was murdered after blowing up the whole thing. At first, Nihachu didn't believe what happened. She was in denial. While everyone was yelling and fighting, she stood to the side. When she realized Wilbur was dead, she realized there was nothing else to lose. With one final stand, she burnt down the L'mantree, forever closing L'manburg's existence. That was the last essence of L'manburg. She left to join the syndicate, in hopes of being heard. Finally, a place she could call home. "Hush now, your voice will be heard."

The way this feels like a twisted lullaby, sounds like something safe and familiar, gives me chills. The delivery of "Sic semper tyrannis, welcome to the Syndicate" is so amazing every time. The little laughs just make it even better. There aren't enough words to describe just how perfect this is! I thought I was good at words, but I just can't find enough of them to accurately explain how much I adore this. I guess I just get to shut up and listen to this on loop for a while.

Niki is the only female member of the Syndicate, so the female vocals can be inferred to belong to her. Her story is all about being unheard and silenced, so the line “your voice will be heard” is really neat.

To me (who is unfamiliar with the Dream SMP), this seems like a song about a group of villains who are violent and scary to outsiders but loving and caring to their own.
This sounds like the type of song in a musical that would either be sung by the villians, or by the sketchy group that everyone _thinks_ is the villains, but are actually good.
I- THIS IS SO GOOD. It feels like a elegant mass murder masquerade. They aim to kill silently and mysteriously but in fancy clothes and masks damn it. The transitions and the lyrics just is PERFECTION. Just listening it on repeat 🤧😌✨
i'm actually obsessed with this song, it beautifully portrays the syndicate, is a bop and a half, the voices are insane, and it's really good-quality and well put together. the lyrics just pull the whole vibe together. i'm really surprised this hasn't absolutely blown up, it deserves it.
I wish I could animate I have a sick idea in my head for an animation. More or less I could see Ranboo sitting at the table then Phil and Techno walking in putting a record (music disk) in and start casually singing this to Ranboo trying to convince him to join when the female lead comes in Nikki enters and near the end it’s Ranboo excepting the role of joining the syndicate. Naturally this is what my mind likes to imagine is happening just figured I’d fire off a simple concept any random animator was scrolling for an idea for an animation. Either way even I’ve just had that idea rolling around if no one picks that concept cool I’m just waiting to come across an animation eventually this song is to good not to get one.
i imagine ranboo singing verse 1 while preparing for an assassination since irl he always wears a mask and gloves, niki as verse 2 while at the mission doing the assassination because of the lyrics taking the heart and burn the wicked in the heat. the pre chorus after is when they all go back to syndicate meeting room and show us the secrets they will gracefully display. While phil plays the piano and niki and techno dance while singing the final bridge. If there was an animation this is what i would imagine.

This is a great addition to the set. The two voices fit so well together, and the music itself is absolutely amazing. Even the art is great, though not sure why they replaced the table with a normal one as opposed to the circular portal it's built on.
If the dsmp was a disney movie and the syndicate was the villain, I imagine this song would be what plays when you go to their lair and they do the evil lair tour thing that Disney likes to do in the movies.

Something really cool about this song is the time signature. In the verses it's 4/4 time but in between it changes to 3/4 time and I absolutely love it. Amazing work!

WhenI listen to this I somehow make up a story of the dream smp inside my head- Except your the protagonist :) Basically your a semi-violent anarchist and techno comes to your doorstep with a letter, An invitation one might say. To his humble abode, (His cords to be exact) And there you are greeted by Phil, seeing as he lives there y'know makes since. You show him the invitation and Phil brings you to the entrance of the syndicate and tells you to jump in... You're skeptical of it at first but then take the leap of faith. Phil Is already down there in the boat, you climb in and once at the Entrance, the door suddenly opens. and there you see The Sydicate's members. Niki, Technoblade, Ranboo, and Phil (Of course). There Niki puts on a song... This is the song she plays in the background. You never expected some of them to even be there, you already know about Niki burning the L'Mantree but Ranboo? You didn't even know he was a anarchist. You were kept quite about Phil taking part in L'Manberg's destruction, you knew about techno however. So you didn't expect them to be there. Eh It's just a small story not as good as some of my other ones but Its okkk I guess- I love the song btw

I think the 1st verse matches phil more because of the " my friends have violent tendencies" and he's friends with technoblade and the " secret nobility" might mean someone with a crown which could be either techno or ranboo but ranboo doent really match the violent tendency thing. the bridge might be ranboo because of the " there's some unfriendly eyes" and ranboo is half enderman which means he doesn't like to be stared at.

This is _amazing,_ why is this fandom full of talented artists, amazing songwriters, deep and inspiring people, and such beautiful voices? This is genuinely the only fandom I've ever been/am in that has such a powerful fandom, for better or worse. We spill into everything else, sometimes it's drama and hatred but when you really look at us you know those are simply what come with fame and power. We're more than just a fandom, we've got so many beautiful and sweet voices and kind minds amongst us, the toxic voices simply scream too loud for others to hear our soft melodies and powerful words. We gotta decimate the toxics with our talents, we can't let them take over the once-beautiful lands of our fandom!! We can't let us be known for our hate and mistakes when we do die out. We need to rise up like the SMP against the tyrants we let run rampant like Schlatt in Manberg.
Every time I find a new artist (specifically song artists) I swear I just end up doing a commentary on the fandom/other things I relate a song to and it's so funny cause I've always been this way.
This little piece of commentary actually _does_ relate to the song... How Niki's voice is so much stronger and heard so much better when she joined the Syndicate. That they only want to break free of control from tyrants and hatred and their pasts. That the Syndicate is meant to help, not destroy everything. Yes it hurt others, perhaps in an unreasonable way, but they wanted to fix problems. Not let it get worse. We need to do the same..we may never be able to come back from this toxic tide of haters and horrible people, but maybe, just maybe, we can leave knowing we'll be remembered for helping end that toxicity before we're gone, before we drown...

Other fandoms have gotten close, but this is really the only fandom I've seen that has truly opened up and this really just should be highlighted! I guess it's because of the way the SMP presents itself; the raw, informal acting, plot and Minecraft setting really opens up to head-canons and fan art, and once one person does it, everyone else follows! And now, every member on the Dream SMP promotes it all, which is just so cool! I love how this fandom has brought out so many talented and underrated artists!
(Also, the Syndicate is definitely an anti-hero group; they have good intentions, but don't try to achieve their goals in the most moral way.)
Same tho, i've been in numerous fandoms and yeah you'll see fanart and fanfics with artists and writers but the DSMP fandom just had a surplus with more talented people joining. I love how people just went and looked at this fandom and said "cool shit, me too." DSMP fandom isn't the only one with talented fans but fuck, they sure do have _a lot_
My wife and I spent a bunch of time listening to this and analysing. They picked out the switch from the 4 beat tempo to the 3 beat tempo, and as a musician they found it fascinating.
that's so awesome!!! you're the first person to leave a comment about the switch to 3/4. It was done to make the chorus feel a bit like a waltz.
also, since we're on the topic, you may not have noticed, but I used anticipated chords (around 1:42) to make it seem as if the song is still in 3/4, but it actually switches back to 4/4
@@kroh Happy we were the first to comment about it. I had noticed something was different, but my wife definitely was the one who figured it out. And yep around 1:42 they were confused for a bit about what was happening. We didn't quite understand what it was, but we did listen to it a few times to figure out what the tempo was. So that explains it :) Very fun way of crafting a song!

During the entirety of the dsmp lore (I think) Nihachu wanted to be heard. To be of value. She didn't feel that she was important in Manburg. She was kicked out in Manburg, after all. Forced to pay extra taxes. Fundy betrayed her and burnt their flag. The flag that showed independence. The last sign she had of freedom. And hope.
She joined pogtopia, and helped with the revolution against Manburg. They won and Nihachu finally got her freedom back. Then, Wilbur left during the ceremony. He was murdered after blowing up the whole thing.
At first, Nihachu didn't believe what happened. She was in denial. While everyone was yelling and fighting, she stood to the side. When she realized Wilbur was dead, she realized there was nothing else to lose.
With one final stand, she burnt down the L'mantree, forever closing L'manburg's existence. That was the last essence of L'manburg.
She left to join the syndicate, in hopes of being heard. Finally, a place she could call home.

Niki is the only female member of the Syndicate, so the female vocals can be inferred to belong to her. Her story is all about being unheard and silenced, so the line “your voice will be heard” is really neat.

I- THIS IS SO GOOD. It feels like a elegant mass murder masquerade. They aim to kill silently and mysteriously but in fancy clothes and masks damn it. The transitions and the lyrics just is PERFECTION. Just listening it on repeat 🤧😌✨

I wish I could animate I have a sick idea in my head for an animation. More or less I could see Ranboo sitting at the table then Phil and Techno walking in putting a record (music disk) in and start casually singing this to Ranboo trying to convince him to join when the female lead comes in Nikki enters and near the end it’s Ranboo excepting the role of joining the syndicate. Naturally this is what my mind likes to imagine is happening just figured I’d fire off a simple concept any random animator was scrolling for an idea for an animation.
Either way even I’ve just had that idea rolling around if no one picks that concept cool I’m just waiting to come across an animation eventually this song is to good not to get one.

i imagine ranboo singing verse 1 while preparing for an assassination since irl he always wears a mask and gloves, niki as verse 2 while at the mission doing the assassination because of the lyrics taking the heart and burn the wicked in the heat. the pre chorus after is when they all go back to syndicate meeting room and show us the secrets they will gracefully display. While phil plays the piano and niki and techno dance while singing the final bridge.

This is a great addition to the set. The two voices fit so well together, and the music itself is absolutely amazing. Even the art is great, though not sure why they replaced the table with a normal one as opposed to the circular portal it's built on.
Plot twist the portal is the framing and the rest is the table for disguise purposes.

Something really cool about this song is the time signature. In the verses it's 4/4 time but in between it changes to 3/4 time and I absolutely love it. Amazing work!

Basically your a semi-violent anarchist and techno comes to your doorstep with a letter, An invitation one might say. To his humble abode, (His cords to be exact) And there you are greeted by Phil, seeing as he lives there y'know makes since. You show him the invitation and Phil brings you to the entrance of the syndicate and tells you to jump in... You're skeptical of it at first but then take the leap of faith. Phil Is already down there in the boat, you climb in and once at the Entrance, the door suddenly opens. and there you see The Sydicate's members. Niki, Technoblade, Ranboo, and Phil (Of course). There Niki puts on a song... This is the song she plays in the background.
You never expected some of them to even be there, you already know about Niki burning the L'Mantree but Ranboo? You didn't even know he was a anarchist. You were kept quite about Phil taking part in L'Manberg's destruction, you knew about techno however.
