I know this is an older video but It's a awesome video... thanks for the information. I do have a question. Since you are basically using a 4km map even though the "play area" is a 2km map, that makes it where it isn't console friendly, correct?

Correct, consoles 2km maps only.

So when I took an item from a map I selected item with files innit no on first box and no on 2nd box lol and some buildings are fine some are white could it just be a file in the wrong spot or?

Definitely a shader problem, check the original materials, find the shader/s and check the material at he bottom as well as shader settings, verify yours you imported.

for normal mapmaking "no" the game cannot manage any files that are not square so 2x2 4x4 8x8 is the terrain sizes and layers etc.. But... a big BUT, if you take a blank 4x map and do what i have done in this video you can make the center part of the map whatever you want and use the excess of the map as distant scenery.. so use your invisible map borders to define your playable area of the map.. but in reality it is actually a 4x map..

Yes, if you watch my entire map making series on fs19 the map we made there was done this way. I have a playlist for it on my channel called Map Creation Fs19. Still relevant for fs22.

Been pondering making a 16x with an 8x-12x inside of it to have the seamless terrain. However want to add non buyable farmlands in the border assigned to ai so the fields change.

that might be interesting, just add the showOnFarmlandsScreen="false" to the lands in the farmlands.xml you want to load outside the border :) this will make it not buyable in game ...

Making a map bigger is an enormous task.. you have to take every file in the data folder and convert it into a new larger map files, so you paste the old file in the center of the new maps file (just a donor empty map), then transfer everything into the maps data folder, then custom the farmland, and all the gdms, all the grles and repaint the entire new outer sides of the map with texture, foliage and roads etc…
