Yes this is the original Vandellas ( background singers), with a different lead singer, not Martha Reeves. Who very once boasted in an interview that she WAS actually the entire group. She stated that she chose the outfits and did all the interviews for the group, not acknowledging her backup singers at all...They later refuted that this wasn't true, they agreed mutually on every decision.
I know it is not Martha Reeves, but Rosalind Holmes is doing a good job putting it across no disrespect for Martha and how treat to see Rosalind and Annette!!!!
Yes she is still around and doing well. I met her at what used to be called “The Magnolia” restaurant in Detroit. I told her I had grown up listening to her records and asked if I could shake her hand and she said “Awwww” and grabbed me and hugged me. It was pretty cool!
Local sound man showing his prowess at 1:33... Couple that with that the guy turning the knob and creating the feedback because he could not leave well enough alone was probably a douche and you understand our frustration as musicians... Great performance overshadows the sound douche bags error...
+Cindy Marshall Sadly most of the Funk Brothers are deceased.............. I saw them in the Philadelphia area back in 2004 and at Universal Studios-Florida in 2006 they rocked the house both times !!!!!!! I would like to these ladies in concert ,Roschelle has a lot of "charisma" :)
These oldies performances are too tame and lacking in energy compared to the records of the songs being sung. Just because one is somewhat older does not mean one cannot move and express the passion of the song. I once saw an oldies performance of The Marvelettes and they added energy and personality to their performance. Older does not and should not equal mannered restraint in performance. If these are the original Vandellas they should kick it up a knotch 'cause you can't sing songs like "Live Wire" and "Heat Wave" lookin' like you are suffering heat exhaustion. This was my favorite Motown group next to The Supremes!
Somewhat older? They are almost 50 years older. Imagine the arthritis, feet problems and maybe balance issues lots of older folks have. I don't blame them for not jumping around like teens anymore. It's just great to see them up there still giving it what they got.
Rosalind and Annette still have the goods and look great all we need now is an official reunion with Martha Reeves cause the Chubby lady does not to be there!

The "chubby lady" is an excellent performer, besides the group is called "The Original Vandellas", not MR & the Vandellas.
