My favourite artist. I talk about him all the time in my art gallery in England. He blazed a mighty fine trail, one worth following.

I am only two minutes into this video and am compelled to comment. Ed Mell was among the greatest artists of all time. A genius. He will be remembered centuries from now like the Old Masters are during our time. Thank you for the vid, Mark.

Such a tremendous loss. I was exposed to his work shortly after moving to the Phoenix area in 1995, and was instantly smitten as well as awestruck.
He captured the stunning beauty of AZ's landscapes as well as her gobsmackingly gorgeous skies.
"The legacy he leaves us is one of beauty, thoughtfulness and love." (Phoenix New Times).
His phenomenal architectural style of capturing Arizona's monumental beauty, the colors of the desert as well as his brilliant eye for composition, will influence and inspire current and future artists for generations.
The world has lost an amazing icon. It feels like there's a hole in the Universe. Ed was a true mensch.

I met him about 10 years ago and talked on and off since. His presence in painting is so strong that I see his influence daily in my own work and the work of so many others. Not to mention his incredible sculpture. Already missed but so glad to have known him.
