As an American billiards enthusiast of 25+ years… Jason Shaw from Europe is likely on his way to being the greatest pro player of all time. All. Time. I mean, it also helps my opinion of him, that when he hits a completely and unimaginably difficult shot, he just moves on. When anyone on team USA does it, they throw their cues, scream, act ridiculous etc. Shaws got skill and class.

I once rainbowed the cue 180° real tight around the 8ball near the corner pocket. It was so unreal and happened so fast. The ball was so close to the 8 it was almost impossible not to touch it. I remember by the time I hit it and blinked, the ball was already in and the cue was spinning hard at the lip of the pocket still.
What a master of the hustle: saying that makes the top pros like him, and it gives him an excuse if he loses. And then when no one is watching he'll take some kid who just won a tournament for $20,000 (or at least I'd like to think this happens). And of course he'll say, "I got lucky." Dude is a magician in more ways than one.

If someone acted like these guys from the US team, they'd forfeit the game and repeated offenses would result in a team forfeit. Snooker is a gentleman's game yes, but this sort of thing is discouraged in official games (unless you win your match).
Europe's team out classed US in many ways this year. With short races they need to be played like a tennis match, you've got to hold serve and fight to steal a rack when you loose the lag.
Jason's been on fire for more than a year now. The problem is that his playing is so agressive sometimes that ends up throwing the rack and loosing matches he had in the bag.
Moe Kazan I wouldn't even try to tell a pro player how to play. I'm just saying he is sometimes too agresive. But overall I like watching his games because as I said, he's been on fire for a long time. He's one of a kind for sure.
These seem amazing because they always put the cue ball in great spots. At the bar people suck at leaving the cue ball so you always see amazing shots + drunk on a warp table with a bent stick.

U can often see high skill shot in 9-balls. When snooker or 8-balls u have many choice to choose what ball u want to hit, 9-balls limits it to only 1 and many times it got blocked so u can see high level bank shot or curve or jump there.
Luke McLellan i know snooker more than u think. But in snooker player focus on break and set up the cue ball. Jump shot and high masse are not in here, cuz it really hard to control where the cue ball end when do that. So like i said above, 9 balls is a better game for those high skills shot to shine.
Well i have seen many snooker game and there is no jump shot (is there a rule ball cant jump in snooker???). Those masse in game i have seen are just simply use to redirect the cue ball. There is no parabol move here. I will be appreciated if u can show me some snooker game with high masse or jump shot.
hung Hung my point is that a "high skill shot" as you describe it isn't necessarily that difficult to pull off. As you alluded to, often the end position of the cueball isn't that important. Whereas in snooker many of the impressive shots played don't even pot a ball.

Shaw is sooo humble, i like his mindset
U can often see high skill shot in 9-balls. When snooker or 8-balls u have many choice to choose what ball u want to hit, 9-balls limits it to only 1 and many times it got blocked so u can see high level bank shot or curve or jump there.

Luke McLellan i know snooker more than u think. But in snooker player focus on break and set up the cue ball. Jump shot and high masse are not in here, cuz it really hard to control where the cue ball end when do that. So like i said above, 9 balls is a better game for those high skills shot to shine.

Well i have seen many snooker game and there is no jump shot (is there a rule ball cant jump in snooker???). Those masse in game i have seen are just simply use to redirect the cue ball. There is no parabol move here. I will be appreciated if u can show me some snooker game with high masse or jump shot.
hung Hung my point is that a "high skill shot" as you describe it isn't necessarily that difficult to pull off. As you alluded to, often the end position of the cueball isn't that important. Whereas in snooker many of the impressive shots played don't even pot a ball.
