I have the old Eureka Mignon MCT, would a Specialita be an upgrade? I also have a Sette 270W but I can taste a remarkable difference between the two, Eureka tastes much nicer and sweeter. So I am thinking about buying the Eureka Specialita or if equally good the Manual
Yes the Speciality would be an upgrade from the MCT.. you go from 50mm to 55mm Burrs .. Adjustable portafilter Forks and a better all-round grind adjustment wheel.
If I only do single dosing, should I just get a Mignon manual? My budget allows me to go up to Speciality. Everthing else being equal, would the Speciality lead to a better end result in the cup?
Yes, the speciality is great as it has the adjustable forks for hands-free grinding. If you are single dosing with a dose cup and transferring it that way .. than yes the Manual is all you need 👌
Atom 60 is much faster - more suitable for higher volumes. Much larger grinder in general - bigger motor, bigger burrs. Bigger Hopper. Similar retention - taste wise - I'd say at peak use - the Atom 60 would be slightly better - but for lower volume the Specialita would outperform the 60 👍
@@AlternativeBrewing Thanks, yeah I'm definitely leaning more towards the specialita due to lower price, also I don't need anything super fast or high volume, it's just for me wanting amazing coffee to turn out as good as it should / could. Lots of people seem to love the specialita and, retention isn't too bad. I discovered the 60mm Atom has the same body as the 65mm version so there may be more retention due to space around the burrs vs the 65mm one.
if single dosing it would be too high - but for a service style grinder - once you've pulled two shots - (let's say 1-2g deposited in the nooks'n'screws' of the grinder) than after that it's remarkably consistent at it's dosing 👍
I’ve had mine for about 5 years. It is easy to use and very consistent.

How's the Atom 60 compare with the Mignon Specialita with 55mm burrs? Noticeable difference in quality in the cup? More retention?

Can the auger be fitted to the eureka mignon?
No it can not sorry. But that would be amazing of so!
Hi mate, what's its retention?

French press grind ?
Yeah No worries
