We have several major updates and announcements with the launch of this trailer. Please read!
First, the Skywind team is still in need of volunteers for almost every department. You can find links to our application on tesrskywind.com or on our Discord here: / discord
There are still several critical roles that need filling, and work for every skill level, so please consider joining! We are especially in need of 3D artists for several major assignments like tilesets. The more help we get, the sooner we’ll be ready for a release, and the better the final version will be. Come make history with us.
Second, we have now successfully ported Skywind over to the Special Edition of Skyrim to take advantage of the upgraded engine. This was a necessary change for stability purposes and to accommodate our improved visuals. There are no plans for a backport release on the vanilla Skyrim version at this time.
Next, we are launching our new website tesrskywind.com/ It is still under construction at the time of this release, but we’ll have more updates in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more updates!

Bethesda didn't give us another tes VI teaser this E3. This filled that hole massively.
How can anyone have been excited if they did tease at E3? Bethesda is officially done. For me they joined EA and Ubisoft. I'll never buy games by them ever.

@Berzerk Llama That’s an even scarier thought as why the creation engine is... well, a piece of mangled scrap compared to most, they’ve at least taken small steps to fix it. A new engine would have new problems, and knowing Bethesda they won’t want to fix them.

I downvoted because of the whole exclusive to SE thing according to the description. I get it, their reasons are justified, but I'm not going to buy Skyrim a 2nd time just for this. I don't have stability issues and you can get substantially better gfx than whatever they changed in the SE by modding the original 2011 version.
@@theblackwingedsoul SE was given away for free on Steam to anyone who owned the original Skyrim back when SE released. Not sure what else they could have done to convince you that it wasn't just a cash grab; there are significant improvements to SE, most notably stability from it being 64 bit (whatever stability you have now still wouldn't be as much as what SE would have) and higher performance

Honestly beyond me how Bethesda has slept on a Morrowind remake for so long. They don't even need to use a new engine, as Skywind proves. Wake up, Todd

They tried to scratch that itch with the Dragonborn dlc for sure, but too bad it just wasn’t enough.
If Bethesda was to make a remake, it would be commercially sold. I can't speak for everyone, but I wouldn't pay to get a remake on an engine that's more than a decade old itself.
Also Bethesda can shut down Skywind easily cause this guys don't have right on this game

seeing levitate as a sustained spell makes me happy. good choice. makes more sense to me than it being a duration based effect. looking awesome. gives me the feels as morrowind was my first TES game. had it on the og xbox. then pc.
I had the exact same thought! Since Skyrim's engine isn't going to have the spell failure chance, a duration spell would literally just be "oh look, I win" whereas a sustained spell means it has niche uses for non-mages, but its not openly abusable (until you enchant armor with 100% magicka reduction cost).

I'm sure it won't always look like that, but there will definitely be areas and times it will. That is because of the Volcano in the center of the island, Miss Shirley. :)
Hello! I am one of the testers for Skywind. There is a lot of color actually! A lot of the colors are muted in some of the regions like the Ashlands, due to all the volcanic ash. A lot of the architecture and armor and whatnot are also made of natural materials. If you join our Skywind discord and look at our progress updates there's a lot of wonderful sights (my personal favorites are the sunsets). I really hope you give Skywind a chance when the project finishes!

I never got the hate for cliff racers. First time I played MW I went in blind and made a dumbfuck naked barbarian with a hammer.
I don't know if I broke a skill or two without realizing, but by level 3 the winged fuckers spoke my name in terror. I must have killed fucking thousands. They were an annoyance more than anything, they always went down with a few well-placed hammer strikes.

I assume they wanted to release with the next gen consoles, that's why it's taking so long.

Either they are lacking the volunteers to do it. Then you could obviously easily change that instead of complaining.
Or, more likely, there is another implementation problem. There are enough cases in the dev forums where seemingly simple things were just crazy hard to do within the limitations of the engine. And it would require multiple people brainstorming it for weeks or even months to solve just one seemingly simple, but important detail.

@@myfellowsonicfans7131 Yes, they did use mods from Skyrim but keep in mind that these spear and javelin mods ( one is Spears by Soolie and the other's name I forgot ) are quite buggy and unstable. So this means these guys have to fix those and then implement it. Be a little grateful, they are working hard, and it is not like we're paying for it.

@GoTi4No Not really, I heard that the graphical technology they're using to create TES6 is too advanced for the old engine, which is why they probably will upgrade it
@GoTi4No You know that Bethesda isn't the only one that still uses an old engine right? For example, Bungie still uses the same engine they used to make Halo 3, another example would be Rockstar, heck, they've been using the same engine longer than Bethesda has and look at the current quality of Rockstar games. My point is, a game engine's age doesn't necessarily determine how well it will function.
@GoTi4No Correct, Rockstar started using their current game engine in 2006, Bethesda started using the Creation Engine in 2011. Meaning Rockstar has been using the same engine longer than Bethesda.
True, that the Creation Engine was made using some coding from the Gamebryo engine, but it was still a new engine.

@Tricky moon : People meme on the cast failed and missing your swings but if you actually played with your main skills in mind, it really isn’t that bad. Playing with weapons and spells you’re not experienced in is what will make you miss, that and your stamina needs to be high up.

This entire theme stands in direct height to Skyrim’s. Such appropriate vocals to give the same level of intensity but echoing through a much different land. I have goosebumps and I need to play it when it’s ready.

I thought after seeing this trailer, I wouldn't feel this hyped about the project until the finished version is loading on my computer screen. Then you reminded me.

Am I the only one who is of the opinion that one ought to be able to join the Sixth house in Skywind? Evermore have I been annoyed that such an exciting option has always been greyed out.
@@goosequillian Well, that would be cool, but TES also has a continuity to it. Whether or not the Sixth House wins greatly affects the course of Tamriel's history, so it would make sense for Bethesda to leave out an option for joining for the sake of future games.
@Leictreon Zwenzheter Maybe, but not for a change this big. It would literally decide who's in charge of Tamriel. Though, yes, they could do another Dragonbreak. But they couldn't do it every game, or for things as big as joining the Sixth House unless the Sixth House loses either way, which would in a way make your choice meaningless.
Let's not forget, that Dagoth winning couple genuinely cause the destruction of Mundus. I remember reading somewhere, that as the Sharmat, Dagoth is basically "anti-CHIM", which means that instead of recognising he is part of the God-head, he believes he IS the God-head, and could destroy it.

@@elbonkadillo it's because levitation spell is actually illegal in the empire i don't know why but it is.(it's a only an excuse
@@JustBuyTheWaywardsRealms it was made illigal cause you could just float up to someone's window and break in or something. though the real reason is so they could have a excuse to not put the spell into future games.
@@TheSpencermacdougall it isn't even a good excuse because they could have made it so the spell gets you a bounty if you use it near imperial settlements

So many people are traumatized by the cliff racers of the third era. They should blame Thetys Ramarys of Balmora, who started selective breeding of cliff striders to improve their flight, back in the second era, five-eighties.

I like that you made Azura look like it's from Morrowind and didn't just use the one from Skyrim.
I think they had to literally make every single one of the assets, they couldn't use the skyrim one of literally anything.
@@WalrusWinking We can use Skyrim assets but they really just don't fit the art direction of Morrowind/Skywind. We are however barred from using any Morrowind assets.
@@KMallon12 okay, sorry I wasn't sure on the whole situation. Companies are pretty confusing like that. This mod is the reason I'm buying Skyrim VR on Steam though. 😅
This looks much better than Skyrim in HD textures, no joke. The visuals are awesome.
Ah you discovered, what should be the first lesson for every gamedesigner. Creating a world is an intricate process that requires much thought and ,ideally, passion. You don't need the sharpest textures to make something pretty, you don't need resolution for decent textures, though of course they help. Many companies which have both available without limits seemingly have forgotton this, creating mediocre, bland worlds without any character, that might just look good for a while but upon closer inspection are almodt repulsive...
Skyrim is very much rooted in reality, to some extent. But Vvardenfell? Vvardenfell is alien, pure and simple.
