Just imagine, if a studio would make a full scale film with a title "Nerevar" or something like that. An old dunmer in Seyda Neen tells the tale of dwarves and elves, the journey and life of Nerevar and the legend of the Nerevarine. The film ends with the yell of a guard "A ship is coming!", then the screen darkens and we hear the words of Jiub: "Wake up. What's your name?"
Thats genuinely such a good idea, props!
Ayoooooo
Cliché. Morrowind movie would have to be more esoteric to convey it's essence. I think stuff made by Allinall is closest to what would fit.
Imagine the sequel.
A Morrowind TV show would be a welcome project as far as Bethesda goes. It has as much lore and depth as any book or comic, if not more.
The fact that Bethesda has never explored licensing out the Elder Scrolls universe for TV or movies is a crime.
Agree, way too cliche. Morrowind deserves something as unique and outstanding as the game was itself.
I would like to have a 2-Season high-budget TV Show, but not as 'high budget' as Rings of Power, but something like The Lord of the Rings trilogy, with good costumes and hand-made assets instead of CGI.
Reincarnation is one thing, but you really captured the essence of the Fourth Walking Way here: "Walk like them until they must walk like you." This is absolutely amazing, and I'm going to rewatch it over and over again.
"Walk like them until they must walk like you."
That is such a badass line. Thank you so much, I am so glad that I made something that the community consistently likes!
edit: I wanted to see the origin of that quote and its part of the TES Lore!
I didnt know about the process of mantling but thank you for telling me!
all my n'wahs hate vivec
Damn, the scene with the failed incarnations folding their hands and bowing to Nerevar gave me goosebumps.
Thank you for noticing that bud! I know a buncha others might've seen it but you are the first to point it out!
Most of the failed incarnates respect and admire Nerevar and spent their lives believing they were Nerevarine. It would only make sense that'd pay respects to him and the true Nerevarine.
Wow! That smile when he first steps off the boat, Nerevar with him every step of the way... The video captures the spirit of this game so beautifully. Thank you!
Azura above, Nerevar within
(I know its a ripoff of a skyrim quote, almost sacrilegious O_O )
Half of the game's point is that that's probably not true
@@colbyboucher6391 *probably*
but I dont mind, creativity merits bending of rules, In this case I took some liberty with the lore.
My aim was to make something that I had a vision for, now the animation could have been so much better if I had experience in it, but what I envisioned story and composition wise turned out to my satisfaction!
I hope you liked it!
@@nikhill5340 Fair. I do like that it's mostly in-game assets, it almost feels like it could've been a trailer for the game back in the day.
@@colbyboucher6391 :D
I am glad you like it!
(also I was going to replace the texture with high res ones but I didnt, now was that to preserve the feel? or am I just lazy?
*The world may never know*)
Absolutely incredible. You did a fantastic job capturing the true heart of Morrowind.
Thank you! I tried my best!
The part that gets me is the music when neravare takes his ring but this was beautiful and why I love the elder scrolls fans
thank you!
Awesome vid! I love that the Nerevarine also mirrors Indoril Nerevar's zero-to-hero life. From an ordinary caravan guard to the greatest Daedric champion in history one of the strongest mortal warriors in Nirn.
Indeed and thank you!
The Nerevarine is immortal and immune to all disease, according to the story of the game
He smiles like we do when he sees Caius. Also, Nerevar's face when he prays to Azura looks like the wojak neutral face lol. I love it.
Thank you! Also this is the second time someone has said that he looks like that, it wasnt intentional but hilarious
@@nikhill5340 We're all gonna make it.
@@maxpower9979 indeed bro...
the morrowind community never ceases to amaze me. this really warmed my heart. thank you.
Thank you for the kind words!
Made me tear up a bit. I wish they would re-make the game like the developers for Mafia 1 did
Thank you so much, many tears were to be had while making this as well! :D
I also wish for a morrowind remake, well lets hope that skywind is so good that an official remake isn't needed!
@@nikhill5340 Skywind looks pretty great thus far, the community of modders really are out here making the fanbases dreams come true.
@@zerogbot23 I love em for it, they are real fucking legends
This is one of the most beautiful things i have ever watched. thank you for making this from the bottom of my heart
..and thank you so much for watching it and writing such a heartfelt comment. You don't know how much this means to me :)
My God. I haven't played the game much, but seriously, a round of applause for the amazing camera movement and the match cuts! The lighting looked SUPERB as well! My only criticism is that the animation is a bit stiff, but the last shot where he wears the ring was very emotion-heavy, and I could feel that! Overall, great job! :D
Thank you so much!
Yes I know that the animation is not upto par, that is what happens when you let ambition get ahead of experience but I do intend to get better and hopefully make more and better things!
Imagine if this just suddenly played at a Bethesda E3 showcase and ended with a logo for "Morrowind Remastered" or something.
I would lose my shit 100%
Morrowind is like an egg that you hatch out of, emerging into the unknown without knowing it will someday be your homeland. Perhaps that is why it is such a loveable game, because you raise and parent your character from infancy to adulthood.
Thank you for all of your hard work and expanding the community's cinematic understanding of Morrowind.
What a great analogy, couldnt have put it better myself! and thank you!
Yeah, this got so much more right than not. Helped by that awesome Skywind track you really nailed the emotional beats. Loved the cave of the incarnate scene and the final shot! A sincere and beautiful contribution to Morrowind art, thank you.
no thank YOU for watching it!
and for the kind words!
Feeling the feelings! Amazing!!!
Disclaimer : Feelings were felt in the making of the video
I'm in tears. That's my favorite game. It's absolutely perfect.
Its one of my favourite games as well!
and yes in the making of this many tears were had on my side as well :)
Thank you!
Far from perfect, but it's one of a
kind.
Oh my word, this is absolutely SPECTACULAR!!!
The fabulous sync with the music, the lovely animation -- that smile!!! A smiling Dunmer! Loved it!! --, the breathtaking scenery...and the thread of prophecy twisting its way throughout the video.
Simply glorious.
And gosh, Nerevar's apperance was fantastic. Reminded me of the very first time I found the cavern and the grandiose, speechless sense of fate and responsibility I felt!
Exquisite work. All the feels.
Thank you for all these kind words, the music was the real inspiration for the animation, and I believe that Mr. Fredrik Jonasson did as good of a job that could be done!
The anim was made on how I felt about the track and reminded me of my morrowind playthrough, so its very dear to my heart as well!
Video game soundtracks are an underrated part of games in my opinion.
If more make efforts to have such Aural spectacles in their games I believe they will become more memorable for all of us!
Once again thank you for watching!
I got to the cavern last night. It's my first playthrough, having come to the ES via Skyrim and having submerged myself in the lore since 2011. I've played Oblivion and decided I had to do Morrowind. Ngl, I cried like a baby when I took the ring. Nerevar has been my favourite ES character from the get go and I was completely surprised at how emotional this was. I've fallen head over heels in love with the game and can say it has become my favourite ES game.
You captured exactly how I felt entering the cave to get moon-and-star. The greatest game ever made.
It is indeed the same way I felt as well, morrowind is certainly in my top 10 games in no particular order
Genuinely got chills during the moon and star scene, incredible work :)
(Him getting the ring and the lyrical music playing)
Most credit goes to Fredrk Jonasson for his amazing music! He is the real G here!
I consider starting to play Morrowind as something of a religious experience for me. It opened my young mind up to concepts I had never considered before, idea's that followed me throughout the rest of my life and kept me company in my darkest hours.
That might seem abit much for a video game. But it's the truth all the same; and this fantastic tribute has allowed me- if only for a short time, to relive those memories. Thank you, Sera.
I am glad to see someone shared the same experience as me, it was a very enlightening game not only in terms of what games were and can be capable of but also how your actions have consequences albeit in a game but I took it to heart very much so, thank you for watching this too!
Nerevar guide you.
YES!! I'm happy it's not just me like that lmao!
For me it was what fueled my imagination of the "Tonal Architecture" sorcery of the Dwemer, wondering if Micheal Kirkbride when he made that story for the Dwemer, was incredibly fascinated and inspired by the scientific and magical effects of Sounds, Vibrations, Reverberations(echos) studied in Cymatics 😍
@@TheNumerosopher michael kirkbride is the most legendary crackhead lore writer that I have ever seen and I love him soooo much for it, mans a literal god.
@@nikhill5340 bro YESSSS!!! LMAO I've always always always religiously DEFENDED Morrowind as still the #1 Elder Scrolls Saga game, on just how damn amazing his Lore and story writing was
@@TheNumerosopher I agree 100%
Goddamn, this actually made me tear up. Welcome back, Moon and Star.
Thank you and indeed he never left his homeland
You inspired me to play Morrowind. Thank you stranger this game is truly a gem and masterpiece.
You are welcome! Blessings of Azura upon thee!
Such a masterpiece this game is, and such a masterpiece this tribute. You displayed the never dying soul of this game in such an elegant manner.
Thank you so much for the kind words bro!
Appreciate it!
You know what, depending on what race Nerevar was canonicaly in Morrowind, he/she may still be alive, just like Hero of Kvatch as Sheogorath in Skyrim, Dunmer and other Elves live very VERY long, we actually meet some characters from Morrowind still well and alive in Skyrim, so we might meet him/her in Elder Scrolls 6
Yeah! Maybe bethesda might make it a reality, but that would mean canonically solidifying the nerevarine's race which bethesda has never done with any previous protagonist.
From what I recall, due to the “cure” for Corpus he got, Nerevar more than likely is still alive. Just in Akavir, from what canon says. Maybe someday we’ll see him/her again.
@@thesteellegionnaire4570 I really do hope so!
Corpus prevents death from aging and disease, so no matter what form taken the Nerevarine is surely alive and well.
@@Jacob-se1hu I hope so too bro...
We sincerely need a TV series about the War of the First Council and Indoril Nerevar's life. The Dwemer, the Chimer, the Battle for Red Mountain, the war against the Nords, it would all be such an interesting show and then they could do a sequel with the Nerevarine going through the prophecies.
I mean after the fallout show, I genuinely believe that an extremely long form slow-ish pace TV show/animated series on the elder scrolls can work
you did an amazing work! morrowind is my favorite game i have ever played in my hole life and this is so beautiful to see that someone pays attention on such old games like this one. good job!
Thank you for your kind words!
Great job, a lot of people focus on the fight with dagoth ur but you truly understand the greatness of the nerevarine. It was never about dagoth ur, or the tribunal, it is about nerevar coming back to save everyone with the help of azura. You nailed it.
Thank you, appreciate it!
Cavern of the Incarnate was always a scene in the game that pulled on the heartstrings big time - very poetic and emotional.
Very faithful video - - well done.
Thank you!

This makes encapsulates the feeling of being the Nerevarine. Thank you for this beautiful video about one of the greatest games of all time
Thank you!
I'm a year late, but amazing work my man. I'm a new Morrowind player, and I still haven't read all of the in-game lore, but the game is so damn magical even for a 2002 game, even in the year 2024! You captured this magic perfectely in this animation my guy, great work! ❤🔥
Thank you so much my guy! ..and I completely agree with you, it doesn't matter that this game came out in 2002, cause its goddamn ageless!
It was so beautiful from begginning to end and gave me goosebumps. Thank you so much for making this!
Thank you for watching it!
"Luhn-Silvar, Hortator, Azura'm Gah'amer"
"Moon-and-Star, War Leader, Azura's Great Champion."
The Nerevarine is truly the best protagonist of any Elder Scrolls game. You are nobody when starting the game and become the prophesied and beloved savior of an entire nation.
Nerevar has so much backstory and history that has such a large impact on the history of Morrowind and the current climate of Morrowind that it makes what you accomplish in the game so much more impactful. I can't wait for Skywind. It will be a very different way of experiencing Morrowind and will open up the game to so many who've never played it.
Seeing the skywind 2024 dev updates, I cant wait either!
Deserves way more views fantastic
Thank you kind sir!
Dude, I may not have played the game completely, but watching this had me in freaking tears, fantastic work
Thank you bro! I am glad you were that moved by my work!
You did a great job with the models! They fit in the story so well, plus i love the ring scene and how Indoril Nerevar appeared, it even got me a bit emotional hahah
That was the plan! Thank you so much!
This is the best thing I’ve ever seen. Morrowind is my favorite game of all time thanks for making this
It is one of my favorite games too! Thank you for watching!
good lord, this is incredible my dude!
makes me wanna play morrowind again
I am glad that my animation could instill that feeling in ya!
Have fun my fellow N'wah
I've watched this like five times now and the sequence with the ring still gives me chills 👌
Thank you!
Am I the only one who thinks that the story of Nerevar, the incarnation of his the Nerevarine (or generally the dramatization of the plot of the Morrowind game) would make a fine movie? Animation cause I can't imagine attempt to make it live action haha :) (it certainly would fell short even if someone tried hehe but generalyl the video game adaptation movies seem to suffer from some curse :))..it would be hell of an animated movie :). With the lore of Tamriel and Morrowind especially this could be something unique :).
I agree!
This really captures the ethereal feeling of the game for us fans. Morrowind forever!
Indeed, Three blessings sera
I absolutely love it, it's a masterpiece ! You did a marvelous job, you captured the essence of Morrowind in 4 minutes 💜
Thank you!
Very well done! Brings back memories. :)
This game was one of those games that I felt nostalgic with even when I had no connection to it prior, I know how ya feel! :D
I love everything about this, im still early on in my morrowind gameplay because of computer problems but when I can keep playing ill definitely think about this my entire journey
I hope you have loads of fun my dude!
Grew up with this game, amazing job dude
Thank you!
Seeing something like this animation really does hammer home that Morrowind really is an adaptation of Dune with the serial numbers filed off...hahaha. Great job on this. I like to play my Dunmer nerevarines as clueless dumbasses most of the time from being born outside Morrowind, but this guy is by far the most noble.
Thank you! Yeah I wanted to make him someone like Saint Jiub, guy gets another shot at life outta prison and becomes a really good dude
0:55 nice you can feel the relieve He has seeing the town a safe haven and giving the beggar a hand was very whole some you got to make more of theses this was very relatable in gameplay wise.
I am so glad someone noticed that! Thank you!

The idear that the chimer nerevar's spirit was with us (the nerevarind) is so cool.

So, I'm currently having the pleasure of involving my Nerevarine in the Oblivion D&D campaign I'm running. I've often illustrated the different themes and parallels between Lord Nerevar and himself, and it is such a pleasure to see this narrative illustrated in such excellent animation!
Thank you! I hope you have great fun in your D&D Campaign!

Oh wouldnt that have been hilarious, I shoulda put a cliff racer in the background as an easter egg. Thank you for this epik idea!
I'm replaying Morrowind again & then I see this!
I hope your passion got extra-reignited!
Thank you for making this. I loved it.
thank you!
When Azura said "You have been chosen"
that means I'm not the Nerevar, and neither his Reincarnation but someone who is labeled as Nerevar.
indeed brother, amen!
Nerevar, _Reborn_
His successor you could say
You are chosen-
Could mean that
Or it could mean in the way of having his soul merged with yours.
She loves him soo much that she wouldn’t let him rot in oblivion in his sorrows in her realm. She’d let him have his vengeance against those who wronged him.
Soul merging is a thing. So why not make this random poor prisoner merge with her husbando so that the prisoner becomes something better than dead weight and nerevar getting to live again?
You are Nerevar remimagined. To be reborn not in soul or spirit but in legacy
This is so heart touching artwork
thank you!
Wooow. That awas a fantastic video from the start till the end. You managed to capture the epicness of Morrowind's main quest, the jurney of someone who started as an unkown adventurer to become a living legend. I haven't seen anyone mention it, but the bit at 2:06 is a wonderful reference to The Prince of Egypt. "Deliver Us" is a great song in and of itself, but the animation of the slaves hauling mud and sand and stone is a powerful image. Wonderful homage to that scene! At least, I hope so or I'll just look like an idiot lol
Well it wasn't a homage to that scene, cause I didn't know it existed till now, but you dont look like an idiot either cause its quite damn similar! Thank you!

Morrowind was my first RPG game as a kid. I liked dinosaurs, so when my cousin lent me the game I got excited by the Argonian on the backcover.
I didn't understand English, but I enjoyed the game just the same. Didn't get very far in any quest tho.
I was 15 when Skyrim got out, and I was finally fluent in English then.
These games have shaped who I am. I'm a historian today, because I realised I could learn history just as I was doing reading tons of TES lore.
Morrowind has got me the most tho. I was just a little kid, going through that mysterious world and listening to that GORGEOUS music.
Of course, today I've already completed the main quest. Thanks SO MUCH for the video.
