Anytime joker can really get into Batman’s head and make him second guess himself is a job well done. You can see the doubt in his face and you can see the joy in joker’s.
Honestly, this scene works really well in the grand scheme of the film, and gives the ending scene with him and Riddler more weight, instead of it feeling out of place or tacked on.
Hands down the best universe of characters in this movie. We see a Batman who has failed, a Riddler who hasn’t, and a Joker who’s in Batman’s head. A Scarface origin Penguin. I’m all about ALL of THIS!

Great use of film techniques
Seems to me like he's just starting to become the Joker one year in Arkham after running into Batman when he was still the Red Hood. That would make sense that he's acting more mild than every other Joker version and Batman still doesn't have a lot of anger toward him but rather creeped out and probably even feel a little bit sorry that he fell into the acid. It would be really interesting to see not only this young Batman who's still learning but also the Joker who's still forming his new identity and hasn't got a chance to do anything yet as the Joker.

He’s gonna drink Batman’s bathwater
Holy crap, this is the best joker I’ve ever since the Dark Knight.
