      By pioneer species do you mean brought to the area by pioneers? The Himalayan BlackBerry is one of such pioneer plants. But the trailing BlackBerry is a true native to the northwestern america

      @@danblossom9884 I only have two berries growing in my potted plant. It's a female flowering plant so I cant get a good crop, from what I have noticed they break dormancy a few weeks to a month before himalayan so their flowering isnt in sync.
      I managed to pollinate the last flower with one of the first himalayan, and there is one more than mysteriously pollinated a week before that. It has one single drupe on it so I'm kinda curious how it happened.
