The wisdom of Lao Zhi was expressed through the profound observation of mother nature by the purest mind. At the highest awareness level he realized words cannot fully expressed the truth. If such realization is to be written by someone today it will easily cover more than 500 pages bcos we tends to add too many verbal representation that sound beautiful but distorted the truth. Hence he only stated whatever that was necessary in its simplest form. The understanding of the Dao Te Jing can only be fully grasped not by understanding the words but by experiencing the meaning through realization. That's how profound it was as it can be tested by people of all walk of lifes at different times over the millennium & still stood upright. Contrary to the bible or other holy book, it never demand you to believe anything at all but your life experience can be used to test it out yourselves.
Yes, i agree, but realization or enlightenment is not what it looks like from the outside. It is only the timeless being wich has never for a second been absent. The real reality is always present, it doesn't matter what you call it. You are always the unconditioned, unborn true nature and that nature doesn't care about thoughts, feelings and perceptions to be in peace and happiness. It can use words when it is appropriate, but it doesn't let itself be fooled.
Love your presentation. Why not translate the first verse as, The Dao that can be spoken about is an extraordinary Dao, because feichang means extraordinary. To me "not a constant Dao" sounds a little awkward.
So, mister Sabbadini are you free? I think.. like Nagarjuna told for one thousand five hundred years ago: "All filosofies are mental fabrications. There has never been a single doctrine by which one could enter the true essence of things." The true essence means emptiness, our true nature which is freedom itself. The only thing we can do is to forget everything so we can be empty.
When you are free you can use everything and leave it. Concepts are only means of transportation to the land of enlightenment, not the freedom itself..

This is a very interesting way to interpret Tao De Ting. Great.
The genuine article. Teacher, master, guru - knowledgeable but full of humility. Rare. A gift to us.

What a wonderful presentation, I wish we could watch the entire book presented here.
It reminds me of Avidya-Kaama-Karma cause of Duhkha as taught in Upanishads
