It is the story that makes the game so good. I strongly wish that they add those types of stories with many good endings and related secondary mission that helps in understanding the game and its story in other games from today as there are many good games today that lacks A GOOD STORY (and I don't mean that all games should be related to Chernobyl, even if it's a cool subject, but all games should have a decision based ending with many possibilities depending on the player choices)
It's hard as fuck to keep Tarasov and his squad alive on master difficulty... I did all other things but I couldn't save all of them, just Tarasov blah I'll play it again :)
You need to reload that's all. It's not the Gauss rifle or the sniper on the far left of the building that need to go first, it's the fact that Tarasov keeps throwing grenades in confined space and blowing himself up. Most guys die from friendly fire even if you cheat the shit out of the game.
Rusiputki Really? I never tought of that. I always wait for the precher to become vulnerble and headshot him and then the snipers. Thank you for the advice !
Hey, I found an exploit lately on how to keep everyone alive in that operation. First, you take the mission, right? Then the teleportation happens. When it does, without pause run like hell to the hospital, before Tarasov says anything. The monolithians will be in the second building of the hospital, doing some weird shit. Members of Tarasov's squad will remain on their place. You can't actually save Morozov from dying (sniper guy), but it won't affect the ending at all - his death is scripted. Be careful of SVDs and SVUs on the second floor - they do a ton of damage even in Bulat suit. But I guess, if you're playing on master, you know that yourself. The dialogue of army guys on the way back will be a little messed up, but it's fine, since they'll all be alive. (And yeah, I know I'm fucking late, but I want people to know about it, so they save their nerves while playing the actual game)
God I hope in STALKER 2 we get to play as Strider. His story is really unique and it would be very interesting to know more of his past and how he broke free of the monolith mind control and how he's recovering his memory, would make a nice sequel for sure.
dany godsent Technically you remain in the Zone no matter what, since Degtyarew's ending explains him becoming the USS permanent sentinel or whatever in the zone

Mercenaries finally revealed of who hired them and their reasons Strelok and Sivorache in Cordon with good old friends. Mercenary Scar returns and other Clear Sky Members that was able to break free of the C Con. Last of all Major returns
There is a theory that mercenaries are hired by Russians and their scientists to uncover the Zone's secrets before Ukrainians (because of course they will do it, they were "guarding" Ukrainian scientists to not let them uncover secrets of the Zone). They obviously have their own researches/documents on the psy-fields and the noosphere, also in the locked room in X-8 (unlocked by Serbin's red card key) there are 2 Russian rifles.

@noimaginationreally I did kill them both. There is only this one slide for the mercs and you'll get it regardless if you kill both of them or just one. In case you tell the Colonel to ignore the meeting you won't get the slide at all.
yeah but they all died long before the story even starts, but atleast cardan sobers up and moves in with nitro to start working on a zone-safe car which I think is a +
thanks for posting this even though it was years ago, i tried my best to keep everyone alive but in the end only strelok and one of the random soldiers at the evac site made it, it was just too hard for me to keep everyone alive. also didn't help that it was night time and had to rely on night vision with so many dang bushes everywhere
I fucked up and didn't understand what was happening so I killed Beard's Stalkers. I seriously had no idea what was going on. All I knew was I was gonna get paid and I was gonna get weapons. I didn't even know who Beard was because I hadn't spoke to him so I didn't know it was the guy at the bar.
I couldn’t save Vano or sokolov on my play-through, they turned hostile when we raided the monolith. Its sad cause I actually did care about them as if they were my comrades.. I made sure to protect them in the tunnel to pripyat
Always took from this, from the STALKER universe that from all the horror and the kinda place it is that life still goes on and you just do what you can to make things better.
Kovalsky died in my game. I killed all the mobs yet he died, he just dropped down like a rag doll infront of my eyes so I thought his death was scripted and canon. It was much impactful for me tbh. Such an amazing ending.
Not bad since they could clean the bandits and also, they could put a stable base there, so the bandits will see that the place is no longer empty and they will become more careful.
Finished today and I want to say my ending was largely good even though I never received a summary on Sultan, Owl, Vano or post Monolith new faction. I never added Vano to my group to Pripyat I didn't think he needed to be in it. I loved the ending.
Something to mention here... When I did this, my allies actually died during the cutscene EXCEPT for Strelok. That said, I did choose to stay behind to totally wipe out the Monolith.
I'm confused about strider. When you beat the game and decide to stay in the zone, when you're on your way back to the base some one say's ''I don't trust you''. The first time I heard that I almost shit myself, then I beat the game again and it was there again. I assume it's strider, but where was he? Why did he run off? Why doesn't her trust me after all I done for him? Why are the creators of this game so vague? :D
I remember that - it made me jump. I think it's just some random NPC dialogue that plays because of a bugged trigger, I couldn't find any plot-driven reason for it.
Im pretty late to this Shushkin, but i believe its that one buddy of Mitay's thats bugged out, because when you try to talk to him, he would keep on saying " I do not trust you"
On my ending freedom was annihilated in Yanov and became Duty territory, Zulu died, and Sultan took over Skadovsk, and people never re-entered Pripyat.
Take another look at the cases for Fallout 1 and 2. They say Black Isle and Interplay. After Interplay was disassembled, the main developers for Black Isle went on to create Obsidian Entertainment. Also, it was Obsidian who created New Vegas, using assets made by Bethesda (engine, textures, sounds, etc.).
Soon we will in the Zone again but now differently, the mayor, as he is now, colonel made the Zone different, the Zone is safer and the Stalkers can now continue living without the pressure of the Monoliths groups and the Bandits in Zaton. All because of one man, truly an Expert just like Strelok he did very much for the Zone. Thank you Colonel Degtarev.
I got 99% good ending as in the final bit, but WO Valentyr had to eat a grenade and ragdoll across my screen for the game to go "Hm, yes, no 100% good ending for you."
To get the good Garry ending NOT all Operation Fairway members have to survive, only captain Tarasov en his men have to survive the raid on the hospital in Pripyat...
i was pretty happy with the fact that i got a 70% completion on my save. Even though it wasn't muech i still got a pretty good ending since i did most of the main stuff
maybe i'm stupid but Colonel always dies when evac is almost done and i'm like''C'mon it was 10-20 secs away!!! you gotta be shitting me'':/ so is it a bug or i just suck at protecting with my GP37(whatever name it is)and Gauss rifle?
Keeping those Stingray idiots and Strelok alive sure was a pain in my ass. Unfortunately I forgot about the Cardan quest. Rather I was gonna finish it later and "Garry isn't there anymore he said he went to get supplies" happened. Couldn't go back and finish it. I'd already found one of his friends (Barge is that it ?), but not the other. I didn't recruit Strider either. Aside from that I got everything. I like the fact that you get a good ending for being neutral in the Freedom/Duty thing too.
+halosammy14 It is pretty easy actually. There are many documents around Jupiter and on the bridge at Zaton, also there are many PDA's, etc. I got Strider to join Freedom, since I helped out Jar and turned in Flint to them, they have been friendly. You can also then get the balance achievement, in which Duty and Freedom stop fighting, by giving some documents to Duty, which lowers rep with Freedom, thus making both neutral.
+Vukasin “Paun” Paunovic Thanks man, I think I'll do it the other way around though, since I like the idea of Strider joining Duty a bit better. At least I can finally get this ending. The fun thing is that since there's no longer going to be a sequel, we can always imagine that Strelok eventually found out how to,restrain the zone.
halosammy14 It will be easier to get Strider to join Freedom, since the quest for Uncle Yar gives a little rep boost, without requiring any documents. Stalker 2 is cancelled, for now, but the original team is still together and their plans are to buy the rights to Stalker from GSC in the future and make the legendary game... Stalker 2!
+Vukasin “Paun” Paunovic Just checking back in to tell you that I beat the game with Strider Joining Duty. I think the Diplomat achievement helped, and turning Magpie in to Duty was what cinched it. Got an identical ending to this one.
halosammy14 Congrats, I beat the game recently too. Too bad there's nothing to do apart from free roaming now, and all the mods that ,,continue the story'' also ruin the game graphically, as well as in any other possible way...
There is going to be S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 and there is btw a community fanmade game named STALKER online. Also the old crew designers that used to make the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series are creating new f2p MMOFPS game called SURVARIUM pretty much similar to this game.
4:34 That mercenary slide isn't part of the good ending, in One Shot you need to kill the Ecologist AND the Mercenary. Otherwise, that was a great, informative video!
Not that I gave a damn about half these characters good endings I am kicking myself about not clearing out that bloodsucker pit. Didn't know it would have such a negative effect and it made me mad I couldn't change it without beating the game over again
how you manage to get striders ending even though you stayed in the middle between duty and freedom which also leads to man of balance achievement, because I am stuck with the monolith survivor quest and what makes it worst is that I sold Morgans PDA to owl
Yes, the Stalker Wiki says that and the Stalker Wiki is wrong; I always have the Man of Balance achievement AND the Leader Achievement. If you do certain missions for Freedom (I always choose Freedom) they will accept Strider and his squad in their ranks and you still can get Man of Balance by selling Morgan and general Tachenko's pda's to Owl. Works for me every time...
Sorry for the necro... It's actually quite simple... Just raise your reputation enough... You'll the the diplomat achievement and turn Magpie to the faction you want to hire Strider for (Report it to Gonta afterwards)... Afterwards finish the mutant hunting questline and the faction you reported Magpie to will be very friendly...
Instead of takeing them to the Duty or Freedom, i asked Beard, and i had bring them to the Loners. They ended up as the security of the sciencists bunker. And after that, Strider goes with me into the Prypiat in his old Monolith uniform.

I read something about him being born in Pripyat aswell
One of the best games
David Z аж слезы наварачевятся что люди из другой страны играют в нашу игру😭😭😭😍😍😍
David Z no no no.... the best game!
@@dastanjan320 You should play Fallout New Vegas. It has the same type of ending but far more complex :)
@@helenokeeffe1823 neh Stalker is still the best between post apocalyptic games (also metro series)
Thank you for the advice !
which is why it is given the tern "Misery" lol
I just finished it for the first time. I used an SVD and Gauss Rifle to pick off most of the enemies and the entire squad easily survived.
God I hope in STALKER 2 we get to play as Strider. His story is really unique and it would be very interesting to know more of his past and how he broke free of the monolith mind control and how he's recovering his memory, would make a nice sequel for sure.
unfortunately, we play as a guy named SKIF, but it will be cool if we get to have a quest where he fights off monolith soldiers with us
Unfortunately strider is dead by the events of stalker 2 it seems, though his legacy lives on in the Noon faction

Well, I didn't kill bandits. I only killed them if they were hostile to me.

I’d say an actual “good” ending would be destroying the Zone entirely, like a Duty route or something.

This took me a while to get this ending, worth the effort.
I hope this becomes the canonical ending and the starting point of Stalker 2.

Trying to remove the bandits is like trying to abolish crime throughout the globe. It will take ages to take them out for good.
Who voiced the Strelok/gunslinger in the English dub Stalker?

Just finished this game one day I will go back and try to get this. Amazing games all three
Something to mention here...
Ashley Pomeroy
Maybe, or maybe there was supposed to be a sequel. Strider is ex monolith and pripyat is filled with them.
and zulu is on the way to pryp with a group of dutys :D may he knows what strider plans ! ah we need a sequel^^
that we do, my friend.
ehh, such is life in the zone
Im pretty late to this Shushkin, but i believe its that one buddy of Mitay's thats bugged out, because when you try to talk to him, he would keep on saying " I do not trust you"
On my ending freedom was annihilated in Yanov and became Duty territory, Zulu died, and Sultan took over Skadovsk, and people never re-entered Pripyat.
Malacovics you really did a Duty job. Congrats for saving the world.
When you finally fulfill your dream of kneeling in front of thirty different crashed military helicopters
I got 99% good ending as in the final bit, but WO Valentyr had to eat a grenade and ragdoll across my screen for the game to go "Hm, yes, no 100% good ending for you."
Well, unless GSC release S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 or tell us the answer, we won't know if this is the real ending. We have to wait.
Everyone fucking died in the Hospital fight for me. I barely survived but thanks to F5, F9, and my hoarding of health items, I pulled it off.
If anyone is wondering you have to do every single favor and sidequest to get the best ending
DankyMeme You actually dont.
Thanks much for posting this!
Bethesta Did not crate New Vegas, it was Obsidian Entertainment , they who startet the Fallout Series adn used Bethestas Obliveon engine
To get the good Garry ending NOT all Operation Fairway members have to survive, only captain Tarasov en his men have to survive the raid on the hospital in Pripyat...

A STALKER may leave the Zone, but the Zone never leaves a STALKER. ------ Unknown
I thought Sokolov would die first, But Zulu died first. Then Vano. Sokolov lived.

I hope S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is taking notes from this
Survarium is going to be made by the guys who made the STALKER series. So if anything, it will be the closest to the actual STALKER games.
Except it's online so you won't get the cheeki breeki million bandit bug anymore
How did you get Owl's ending, and get Strider into a faction at the same time?
The fun thing is that since there's no longer going to be a sequel, we can always imagine that Strelok eventually found out how to,restrain the zone.
halosammy14
It will be easier to get Strider to join Freedom, since the quest for Uncle Yar gives a little rep boost, without requiring any documents.
Got an identical ending to this one.
halosammy14
Congrats, I beat the game recently too.
Our soul alway there, in our beloved home The Zone
