Therese - I love these bright, vibrant, happy colors!! I will definitely get my hands on at least one set of these, maybe more! Thanks for a great tutorial!
Thankyou so much, yes, with the primary's and few extras, it's pretty much all I need... but what I need and want are usually 2 different things lol. So glad you like these cards my friend x
Therese, this was such an interesting tutorial. I’m not an artist but i definitely want to learn to be better. I’ve learned so much from your past posts from card ideas to organizing my crafting area. May God continue to bless you throughout the New Year with health and happiness.
I love your cards! Thanks so much for advising us to use our best card stock. I've horded loads of watercolour paper and still not used them, I'd hate to make a mess on it. Oh dear, that's so silly when you think about it.
I used your link and went right over and purchased the whole set of these colors. Did I need them all, no, but I just had to have them! Thanks for a great demo! I also love your voice in your videos, it's so soothing.
Nicely done, playing with new products is so fun and really has no pressure. Lovely results, clever ideas to show all the colours. Glad you mentioned “ old watercolours “, I have 2 pallets of paint I’ve been using ( since University) that may have been loaded in 1989? 👍🏻🇨🇦
I'd bet they still work lol. Circa 1989, was a good year. In fact, my hubby was listing off the top songs for 1982 this morning and I forgot that I knew them all!
OMG I wish I could draw. You do make it look easy but I think I would need to find a stamp and very lightly stamp it so I would be able to paint it in. I LOVE both cupcake and cake! Well done!
FABULOUS! I feel like I could pluck that cherry right off the screen! Off to check the pricing as I've often thought to buy the Distress reinkers for water coloring! Thanks, Therese! AND Bibi! =]
OMGosh!!!! I can’t get over your painting! Just unbelievable! I can tell already, I’ll never be patient enough. I’m the one who has had to really learn to keep going because I used to toss backgrounds so fast! How long have you been watercoloring?
I started watercolouring with Distress Inks initially, a few years ago now. But I've only ever watercoloured for cardmaking, I was very excited when Altenew released their watercolours and have been learning to paint using those. I still tend to 'overwork' the images but luckily they are just cards and not destined for framing lol.
I believe almost any watercolor is great in the hands of an artist... I love watching Jill on the PB&J Penny Black channel use just Distress Inks...and she's great too. Your two sketches are fabulous....now get someone to make them into stamps for the 90% of us stampers who can't draw like that!! Any comments on pros/cons of liquid watercolors vs regular watercolor sets?
Thank you so very much, I am a HUGE fan of Jill's creativity, she is such an inspiration! I have a full list of my tips (which has many of the Pro's listed) as for the Con's... I couldn't think of many Cons: but, if you are not confident at colour mixing, the limited colour palette may look daunting / you can't put the colour back in the bottle (but you can reactivate it with water) / they are not available in Australia (yet). Like any watercolours, they paint very similarly, though having them in a liquid form to begin with, takes one of the steps away and you know that the colour you pick up is the colour you get. Hope this makes sense. Please let me know if you have any further questions, I'm so glad you stopped by and took the time to leave your lovely comments x
Thank you thank you thank you for my wonderful card!!!! It came today and it made my whole day! I love it! I left you a DM as well, but wanted to make sure not to miss you! Is the beautiful floral panel included a letterpress? I’ve never seen those and was so curious. Just gorgeous! And the Christmas critter card was so merry and bright! Just love it! Thanks so much! It’s an honor! Did yours arrive?
So glad it arrived safely and you liked it! Sorry to say your card has not arrived yet, our postage service has decided to do deliveries on every second day only now grrrrr. But, I kinda get it. And Yes that is a BetterPress image (looks like letterpress) on the Spellbinders BP cardstock from memory lol.
I really like the fine line of those sentiments or alphabets? both? I’m just a little confused on why the stackable blocks when we all diligently got rid of our wood stamps. And even rarely use acrylic blocks . You can put them on blocks you have or a positioner and save space so I’m a little confused. But I have kind of been thinking about a good alpha stamp set. I never use mine. If these are the nice thin crisp ones that you used, they’ll go on my wishlist. Terrific video Therese ! beautiful painting! And so fast!
The good thing is that you can purchase these stamps without the stackable blocks. I agree, for us cardmakers who have ALL the things (acrylic blocks / stamp positioning tools etc) then these blocks are probably unecessary unless you want to set up specific words and leave them in place to grab quickly. From what I can tell, Contact Crafts does have a focus on journaling and I think the blocks are meant to make it easier for this group, who would not typically have all our amazing tools lol. Or it could be something completely different...
Listening to you and watching you paint is one of the most relaxing things on earth! 😌 Beautiful cards Therese. ❤

OMG I wish I could draw. You do make it look easy but I think I would need to find a stamp and very lightly stamp it so I would be able to paint it in. I LOVE both cupcake and cake! Well done!
That would work perfectly Carol, I usually use a light grey or beige colour... as long as I can still see it lol.
Beautiful colors. Great artistry even without stamps😉
Thank you Karen!!
Beautiful!
Thank you so much Shawn!

Did you see that Simon Says is now also stocking them? So excited for Bibi!!
Using wax paper is an alternative to mixing on copy paper.....especially if you can find the flat sheets. Enjoyed your video!!
What a fantastic tip Wendy, thank you!!
Love the mint green, and that cupcake is just begging to be lifted off the card and eaten. I wish I could draw, but its one talent I don't possess
You may have noticed that I chose very simple images, perspective is the thing that always gets me lol.
Both of the images you drew and painted look lovely! I might have to get out my dr ph martins liquid watercolours!
Hope you have fun colouring Kazza!
@12:10 hoarding card stock? who? me? oh, yeah....I do that! 😄
Yes, I know, who would do that right 😉?

Very pretty!! Are the paints similar to re-inkers by Ranger or Catherine Pooler?
They work very similarly, but they are Artist quality paint (as opposed to re inkers) and they feel more vibrant to me.
@ thank you! You paint beautifully
❤️❤️❤️
Yay! Thank you x
Hi is there an Australian stockist?
Not yet, but I have asked if they can try and sell it through Amazon Australia... I'll let you know!
🐨👍
