Love the video and the car looks awesome! I have a 90' S13 hatch with a stock KA in it as of now. Was looking into boosting it with the CX racing kit. How was the installation of it? Have you run into any issues since installing? Excited to see what else it come on the car.
Thanks I appreciate it. The cx kit has been working out well so far. As for the installation, the stock manifold and turbo bolts it comes with are not the best, so you will probably want to replace those. Also, the welds on the support bracket for the manifold cracked and I had to reweld them as well as add an extra brace. The intercooler pipe on the cold side was a little too high and was hitting the hood, I had to shorten it a bit. Another thing is that the turbo sits pretty close to the brake master cylinder, and I will probably be getting a heat shield and/or some thermal wrap or turbo blanket. Otherwise it has been pretty good and makes the car way more fun to drive! Once it warms up a bit I will make a driving video. Thanks again for the comment.
Don't see too many single cam turbo setups anymore. Back when I first got into 240's people were literally giving these engines away. Now it seems that they are hard to come by. At least in my area. Very clean looking car. What are you doing for a tune?
I wouldn't really recommend doing that, but you can try. Just monitor your AFR with a wideband to make sure you aren't leaning out. If going that route I would also recommend a quality wastegate to make absolute sure that you don't over-boost. Don't forget 1 step colder plugs also.
Thanks, car's been sitting for a while but recently got it running and it still runs strong. I rebuilt the turbo since this video, and put in new spark plugs which were fouled and that's pretty much it. Got a fuel leak now but should be a quick fix.
@@kennyAN yeah it's a good motor just keep in mind that parts availability isn't that high for more advanced builds. But just a basic build should be fine
@@kennyAN I was considering an ls swap, but the cost is too high I think. I could buy a whole other car for the cost of the swap. Honestly I would recommend a dual cam KA and boosting that as an option
Hey man! I'm basically building the exact Sam set up as yourself. I do have a question. I ordered the denzo Subaru pink injectors and I noticed I'm having the same issue as there's a gap in the fuel rail do you have any tips to installing these right. My other question is how did you use the OEM injector plugs to fit on these injectors? I assume trimming?
What I did was order some fuel injector extender top hats and fitted them on top of the injectors. However, this made the injectors slightly too long, so I then placed washers under the fuel rail to get it to fit exact. As for the wiring, I ordered connector adapters, but you could also just splice in the correct connector to the harness. The extenders I used: shorturl.at/bEO79 Injector Part #: 16611-AA720
shorturl.at/jFU05 Keep in mind that I vinyl wrapped this piece black, so you will lose your reverse lights. (Unless you cut out the vinyl perfectly around them)
Are you in the stock sohc ecu? What is managing the 550cc injectors?? How is it running with the z32 maf? I didn't think the stock ecu could accurately read the maf. I see your doing a blow thru setup which is better than pull. LMK because this is cool stuff/content
Thanks for the comment, the car is running on the stock ECU with an RS Enthalpy chip tune. The blow through setup is much better than draw through. The car was stalling constantly and dying out and then I switched to blow through and all my problems went away.
@@brandoGTR48 nice nice. I'm running nistune on mine but I was thinking bout switching to RSenthalpy. Have you been able to open it up on the road yet? How (smooth under load) is there map on the top end?
@@dashiznit89 It feels pretty smooth but not too much power for me right now because I am only on 7-8psi. The injectors I found on ebay. @@brandoGTR48 I found some on Amazon. They are blue top feed denso. Part#5563 on the side of the injectors. They sell some pink ones too but they look cheaper. Which ones worked for you? Inst...... @rps13gary
If you don't mind me buggy ya again haha how long did it take ya, I just bought a 90 s13(my first 240) and wanna throw some 17s on but was trying to avoid replacing springs but that looks i impossible
@@jskong87 It didn't take too long. I used a rubber mallet and a torch to heat the fender. Don't hit it too much in the same spot though. Do multiple passes across the whole fender. It probably took me a few hours.
The key do a doing a setup like this is to make sure that everything is done right from the beginning. Cutting corners at the start will lead to problems later on. As long as you keep that in mind during planning, there shouldn't be too many problems with reliability.
I took it past 5k... It's not very loud in place but when it warms I'll shoot a driving vid. Screamer pipe is louder. Also thinking about getting a blast pipe.
Yo bro, can u please upload more vids of the single cam? Like pulls on the freeway and races and stuff...
Clean car pal.
Keep er' tight man! 👊
Thanks!
nice job dude
Thanks
Yeah, dude! Stay single
Really nice car man. I suggest making some videos of it driving!
I definitely will as soon as it warms up here! Stay tuned.
thought the cxracing kit can run 15psi safely? Do you also plan to swap out the cam?
Cool car bruh

I also have a cx racing kit on my single cam coupe, for some reason the car is spooling but not boosting
Check your wastegate. Could be stuck open. Either that or boost leak.
SingleCamAssault yes I am checking both today and got a boost gauge

I just bought a sohc 90 s13 for 700 bucks.....the whole car mint, just gotta switch fuel and fuel pump since it was sitting in storage since 07'
Nice Car, What is meant by Blow thru vs draw thru?
Blow-through means the MAF is after the turbo. Draw-through is before the turbo.
I got some questions so on there website they said you could run
It with stock injectors and ecu
Is that actually true ?

Was it hard to get this car?
Did you have to mess with your fenders to fit the wheels?
They needed to be rolled fully with a slight pull.

In the future yes, as of right now I just want to enjoy the car as it is.

Stock ecu?
How did you make your turbo oil lines?
The return goes direct into the oil pan and the feed comes from a fitting tapped into the block on the intake side.
It looks like you have a oil feed line that comes with the 90deg bend already in the hose
@@TheRealJayBrown I think that is a fitting that can be threaded on or off.
How much hp did it add?
Never had it on the dyno. Probably about 100hp
