The video and editing continues to amaze me Karen, wonderful job

@@CuttingEdgeEngineeringcongratulations on your new blaster. Hope it serves you very well. Also, give homie a good scratch for me, he’s such a good boy 😊😊😊😊
Great setup Curtis. I once owned an auto body shop in Northern California and we had the contract for the Sheriffs department who had several boats. I was sand blasting a trailer for them one day and goofed up and blasted my wrist for just a fraction of a second.. OOOO AHH that hurt as it removed the skin from my wrist!. It stung like a burn and I learned to never blast without taped Gauntlet gloves on It eventually healed but no hair ever grew there again! It only takes once to learn my lesson!
I haven't been watching all that long, but I'm still impressed with how much Cutting Edge has grown in the time I've been here. You've got your act together and it shows.
Another outstanding video. Kurtis has clearly done his homework on this unit, explaining the features of the unit, the strength of the organization behind the unit, availability of spares, and the high quality. Not only can he use the unit in situ, he can also pop it on a truck and send it out for mobile sandblasting. Well done!
Hi Kurtis and Karen from Harry in the UK, just wanted to say how much I enjoy your videos, my Father was a engineer and toolmaker and watching Kurtis work the lathe takes me right back to so many happy nights watching Dad working on his lathe in our shed making parts to keep our old cars going. It's such a thrill for me to watch Kurtis who take such obvious care with his work reminding me of those happy times, also, big shout out to Karen for the excellent production values, keep it up and have a happy Christmas and prosperous new year.
I like how you just keep upping your game with tools and implements so that you don't have to contract-out any work and have it possibly not meet your standards........quality is key, thanks for being a decent human being.
Kurtis and Karen, thank you for yet another year of incredible content! Your hard work and dedication shine through in every video. Wishing both of you a Merry Christmas and continued success in the coming year!
Kurtis, you have some VERY cool toys, mate! I love seeing people who work as hard as you rewarded. You & your lovely wife deserve all the success you're finding on this channel and in your business. You've opened up the eyes for many of us on machining capabilities and it's a true pleasure watching your channel. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
The two of you deserve the success you’ve earned, and make this a “feel good” channel. I wish there was a home version of your blaster I could afford, because the performance was amazing.
Very nice unit. I spent some time working in a shipyard in 1980, they had a mess of dustless blasters for doing the hulls, they had them set up in the floating dry dock. They used a really heavy grit and would just shovel it back up off the floor, through a screen and back into the pot. Those things just tore the rust off the hulls. The grit would be flying but zero dust.
Gday Kurtis and Karen, definitely an big purchase but worth every cent, this opens up a whole new avenue now and save a ton of time to also that wash down feature is a brilliant idea, I’m keen to see the bridge lift, it’ll be awesome, have a great weekend, cheers
That blaster is gonna be the beat addition in a while. Your craftsmanship is incredibly professional and Ive always thought it shone through most when its all painted up and OEM-looking. Hope you guys have a great Christmas and enjoy yourselves!
Always love seeing new toys come into the shop and watching your company grow. Grats on the new media blasting setup and that compressor is a pretty sweet as well. Happy Holidays to the three of ya!
Retired back in 2009 where I worked they rebuilt all sizes of steam turbines and gear boxes. When I first started there they did sand blasting outside in a large open field. It was quite messy and caused some not so near by neighbors to complain about the dust and grit. Later they bought a used blast room with an auger for removing the blast media and all of the air filtering equipment. It always required a lot of repairs and though it was much better than the outdoor in the rainy weather I don't think it ever worked for more than a few days without something failing. Your system definitely looks like the way to go. No mention of price, but I'm sure you will get your investment back in short time.
This was serious fun for me, I had a summer job 50 years ago sandblasting the face of a brick building. You will add another touch of class to your finished deliveries.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. I hope that Kurtis, Karen and Homey can all have a nice time of rest, good food and good cheer, and the boxing day test match too of course 😅😂
That sandblaster is awesome! Certainly does an awesome job! I hope that you both have an awesome Christmas, and a wonderful break from work! I am only one of MANY who enjoy your videos every week. It's great to know that the business is doing so well! You both deserve all the good things that go your way. Merry Christmas K&K 😊 🎄
Hey mate, we're loving the blasting setup so far, can't wait to really put it to use in the New Year! A relaxing break is definitely on the agenda and we hope your Chrissy is a good one too! Thanks for the generous support this year mate 🎄
Noice, having a little dig at companies who don't deliver or care about their business. We don't know who they are but I am sure the company will know who they are! Merry Christmas and I hope you enjoy your break!
Years ago working for a structural steel fabricator I did the blasting to remove scale and rust. We used silica sand. It was a dusty and filthy dirty job but I enjoyed it. Also I could blast my own bits of iron for my side projects as well.AL B.
Very nice piece of kit. I watch a lot of Japanese manufacturing programs and they are very good at what they do. Crack detecting using dye penetrative, I always found it messy, but it is a relatively quick process off-site. We developed an ultra sonic system to check for cracks, so much quicker and cleaner. The flash rust problem is we fixed using mist spray oil, after shot blasting. The shot blasting equipment really does open new markets for CEE, really pleased for you. Have yourselves a Merry Christmas 🎄🌟🎄and a happy new year 🎉🎉, thanks for entertaining us. Take care, be safe 👍
That opening monologue from Curtis was mammoth, just going from his usual efforts to string 3 words together, this must have started Tuesday and finished late Thursday.
the more you can keep in house, the tighter you can keep QC not to mention the time savings. Very nice addition to CCE's tool box. the compressor by itself opens new possibilities. Happy Holidays CCE family
Exciting to get new infrastructure that will enhance your business and make it that one notch above the competition. Looks like an awesome unit and can tell you are tickled pink by it. Cheers to another great video...... Have a safe and Merry Christmas....
The shop I worked in had something very similar. Being in warm and humid climate rust was a problem with everything we had. Every time we got done with the blaster we ran a gallon of EvapoRust in it. Never had a problem with rust again! Great channel, always look for the vid!!
Final one before the big day: Merry Christmas team. My Friday night routine has been permanently enhanced by 30-50 minutes of engineering Zen. Hope you get some well deserved RnR, eat far too much and enjoy quality time with friends and family.
Holy shit! Those are some seriously nice toys Santa has got you for Christmas Kurtis! I'm glad that your business is going so well that you can buy machines like those. Have a great and well deserved break over the festive season you three.
You guys ever seen a dry ice blaster? I watched a guy clean oil residue and brake dust off a truck. It was so cool to watch. The dry ice freezes the residue, and it immediately flakes off! It would be a great one man business.
Looks like we will be hearing a lot more post video highlights telling trains where to go once that depot is finished 😂 it has been awesome coming along for the journey each week and seeing the business get bigger and better. Can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store.
My hats off to you Karen, for being able to put together a seamless video from the talent you have to work with. At least Homey, does what you ask him to do...usually. 🤣
Wet blasting so much more worker and environmentally safe. Pretty amazing how quickly the flash rusting appears on your metal surfaces. Definitely need the anti rust additive to hold the blasted surface. Nice gear Kurtis, an early Christmas present??
What a nice piece of kit! I hadn't even thought about in-house blasting, but what a great addition. It removes a time-killer from your workflow. Mounted on a truck, it will be a great service you can provide your customers. You already have a relationship with them so they will be confident in your work. 👍
It is really nice to see you getting more self-sufficient and widening the range of service to your customers. At the same time, I wish to you and your family Marry Christmas and Happy New year, with lots of happiness and in good health.
Congrats on the new blasting unit. It's great to see CEE growing and becoming even more successful. Y'all have certainly worked hard to build your business.
It's been a blast to watch you continue to grow your business, I'm super excited to see where this goes in the future. I look forward every week to new videos and what new projects you are working on.
Thanks CCE for a great 2023 with such a vast amount of skills and projects and looking forward to 2024 and even more great content and camera skills. Have a very Merry Christmas and safe start to the New Year. 🎅
Just made my day again ! Something nice about seeing interaction with critters. I’ve had a Doe and a fawn coming all season to eat apples and raspberries in my back yard. Sometimes they will have a lie-down, and watch me work on whatever I’m working on, and it’s very serene and peaceful.
Kurtis, that dustless blaster system looks to be one of the nicest systems that I have seen in use, like you said it will let you be sure of the quality of the work that you put out, and also looks more finished. I thought several times it would have been nice to have what you just purchased to make your product more professional-looking when finished. Merry Christmas to you all and have a very good next year.
Love watching Kurtis not only work jobs using his skills in the shop, but using his business acumen to grow his business. Reminds me so much of my dad years ago as he grew our truck and heavy equipment repair business in New Jersey, which put me through school and allowed me to make a great living sitting at a computer writing code to safeguard our nation's military. Although, I must admit, after 30+ years of coding, I can't help sometimes, watching Kurtis, wishing that I had defied my fathers wishes and stayed in the business he loved and I loved doing with him. But I know he is looking down from heaven smiling knowing talented young men like Kurtis keep the craftsmanship , professionalism and entrepreneurial spirit he valued so much in life alive and well. I can often sense dad sitting beside me watching your videos. Cheers, and Merry Christmas!
Holy smokes. First off, Ya'll have no shortage of some of the coolest tools i have ever seen. I am really happy for you guys. This is gonna really bring your jobs to that next level of precision and quality which I did not think possible! Excited to see some of that in future videos. aaaaaaaaand second, give George some love for me :D
Awesome and yes footage of the big cranes and the bridge lift please :) Also have a fantastic xmas and thank you for all the hard work the 3 of you put into the video's :P
What I've loved about your channel over the years is watching you expand your business with new tools, making your operation more efficient, etc. I'm looking forward to see what you get up to in the New Year!
Man, you are an inspiration seeing what one person (and your wife) can do. I'm getting certified to be a machinist. Keep up the good work and the videos!
Looks like a great machine for you. And pretty fun to use. If you're going to be carting it around a lot maybe a dedicated trailer for it would be easier than loading it on the Ute every time. Could even put a water tank on it just for more flexibility.
What a game changer for your business. Your customers will definitely appreciate the end product they receive from you. Congratulations on the upgrade.
Happy to see you all celebrating Christmas early! I'd love to get kit like that under my tree. Stunned at how calm that compressor sounds! Even the tiny little compressors I used with nail guns made a horrible racket.
What a team Watching the dexterity as you apply your skills to whatever project you have is a master class . And none of this would be possible without great filming. Cheers to the two of you. Happy healthy new year.
How good. The weekend feels so much more complete with another episode with Kurtis, Karen, Homeless and George and CEE work activities. Congratulations on the new sand blaster, looks very useful, just like Kurtis explained. Wishing you the best of weekends, merry Christmas and happy holidays. 🎅🎄
I am a senior design engineer and for 26 years, all I do is design capital equipment. The anti-rotation brackets on the discharge ball valves of the air compressor, those are the details that your extra money is paying for. That designer/builder, was thinking when they added those. They only added a few bucks to the overall build, but as far as usability, mod's like those are huge to the end user.
That is indeed a nice bit of kit. ( I am starting to talk Aussie) Friday morning has been forever changed. CEE and a cup of java. You've been up for 6 hours, 112486 views and 1042 comments. Blessings of the season to you all , hope your planning some down time. 2616 views while I type this comment.
Be quicker and probably more effective to use a magnaflux magnetic particle inspection, especially with the humidity you mentioned. For even more sensitivity, you can get particles that glow under a blacklight in a dark room.
Yes, I work on truck mounted loading cranes and according to the local regulations (Finland) those have to be stripped down and thoroughly inspected every 10 years. At the same time we usually do a full overhaul, replacing any wear parts, as the crane is already stripped so it's little extra work and cost at that point. One part of the inspection is magnafluxing the high stress areas. We have a guy come over to do it, you have to be certified to do the actual inspection though we do the disassembly, overhaul and reassembly, and he uses fluorescent dye in a spray can. Shows cracks really clearly.
Wow Kurtis, that was impressive. I'm sure that process is here in the states, it's just that I have not yet seen it here. I can think of many applications I could use that machine for. Will be interesting to see that crane being done. Love your videos, you and Karen do an amazing job. Happy Holidays to you guys and Homeless!! Jay from Pa. USA.
Thank you Curtis and Karen for a great channel. Hope you have a wonderful Holiday and New Year. BTW, George and friends may be the apprentices you need. Picking up used cable ties and swarf. All for a few tidbits. And they never complain!!!🤣
In my career I’ve had the opportunity to contract with some AUS companies on several product development projects for the medical field and was always impressed by the dedication to quality and focus on the details that made the end product as good as it could be. No different with you two after watching all the videos! Must be something in the water or being stuck on an island… merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year!
Been using dustless blasting for several years now. I sub it out to a contractor for coating removal /prep. Great investment for your business! Merry Christmas to y'all.
BRAVO !...Sand blasting and a quality rust primer and finish paint job will pay off big time in your shops bottom line.👍👍👍 in my shop we only use Garnet,.. a natural, non polluting media when back on the ground😁.
Kurt, put a large canvas tarp under your workpiece, collect the median, filter it thru a screen and re use it, i used to sand blast headstones back in the day, saves $ , cheers mate 🇺🇸
Great coverage on all the fixes you've done and a testament to giving things a new life instead of the disposeable mindset of some manufacturers & consumers.
Hi guys, I've been enjoying and learning from your channel for a while now and for the first time I feel like I can make a useful comment. I own an industrial pressure washing business in the US, (Utah) and have been in the business for almost 25 years. A couple of tips; get yourself a long rubberized apron to keep you dry and a pair of rubber boots, unless you like getting wet. Also park that beautiful new machine as far away from the job your cleaning as possible, I'm sure you realize by now how far the media travels. If your thinking about going mobile with your rig a good trailer or box van is the way to go. I prefer a box van because it protects the equipment from the elements and you could add a water tank to fill the pot and possibly add a pressure washer for doing clean ups. Heated is best for grease and oil removal. Thanks for the great videos and happy holidays!
Watched Mr.Hewes use one of these to take off old paint on tanks and they do an amazing job. His runs his off of a tractor pto powered compressor but the same sort of idea, seems like a lot of fun if you have large enough projects to use it on.
At the Navy base where I was the facilities maintenance supervisor, we had an area sort of removed from everything else that we put up plywood walls to keep the garnet corraled in one place. It tends to get all over without anything to keep it from blowing about.
Flash rust was the very first question I had, but that got answered pretty quickly. Looks like it works incredibly well. The other thing that dry blasting does, is create static electricity. That is an unhappy thing, if it catches you by surprise. Couldn't believe you got the eq bar clean as quickly as you did. I can see that taking 45 minutes or longer with some systems, plus, you need someone watching the pot and filling it as needed. Been on the wrong side of that job a few times over the years. Plus, with garnet, you can catch it and strain it for re-use. Worth considering.
My buddy's got a unit and he works on a lot of stuff with his. He's doing all right up here in Canada. It slows down a bit because of the cold and the frost but springtime he goes pretty good. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦

Dustless blasting is a neat process. Easily scalable for homeowners even.
Caught this video within 4 minutes and it already has more than 1k views!! Congratualations and thanks for uploading.
best community on youtube!
Karen had to set up the tripod stand so her arms didn't get sore 😂
Always astonished and a little jealous how nice professional gear looks to run compared to what one might rent for a small job at home
Focus and hard work absolutely pays off , what a team you guys are .
All the best from 🇬🇧
0700 here in the UK, Tea and toast and a CEE vid....nice !
As if you’ll get tea and toast only at 0709
11:15 pm here in the pacific northwest USA. Perfect timing for a night cap and a snack for me 👍
Having a lie in, short black americano and shredded wheat at 0718 😎
Just finishing my morning coffee here 😊
12:27 in the American Rockies. I love watching his vids every Friday morning.
the more you can keep in house, the tighter you can keep QC not to mention the time savings.
After watching the outtakes I’ve realized how clear and concise Curtis is!
Final one before the big day:
Merry Christmas team. My Friday night routine has been permanently enhanced by 30-50 minutes of engineering Zen.
Hope you get some well deserved RnR, eat far too much and enjoy quality time with friends and family.
Cheers mate we're hoping for that this year too and hope yours is a good one!
Nice machine mate!! Looks fun to use. Great investment for a great company!! Can’t wait to see it in action on the Franna crane.
Holy shit! Those are some seriously nice toys Santa has got you for Christmas Kurtis!
I'm glad that your business is going so well that you can buy machines like those.
Have a great and well deserved break over the festive season you three.
They seem to work bloody hard at it to get where they are. Deserve whatever they get, hey!
You guys ever seen a dry ice blaster? I watched a guy clean oil residue and brake dust off a truck. It was so cool to watch. The dry ice freezes the residue, and it immediately flakes off! It would be a great one man business.
At this young age but you do your job professionally and really talented and admire also finding solutions and overcoming difficulties
@@craigkennedy5104came here to say this.
I adore the Pied Butcherbird interludes. They're adorable.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Karen, Kurtis and Homie !
Cheers.
we've got 2 of the butcherbirds hanging around still and coming to visit nearly daily 🥰
that’s George and his associate checking in with Kurtis & Karen to let them know that everything is going well
@@JohnH20111 I thought George was protesting that Homeless gets all the packages, and wanted his share.
Another plus with sublimotion is that the surface finish is much finer than with dry sandblasting.
Happy Christmas and happy new year
Man, you are an inspiration seeing what one person (and your wife) can do.
I was thinking the same thing
I just figured on a dedicated truck.
Or at least a dedicated skid so a forklift can move the pair around easier.
@@davidduma7615 That sounds good too. A nice big flatbed. Weld up a weatherproof cover that still allows access.
Thanks Guys - Merry Xmas to you both and hope you have a great break 😀
cheers Andrew, Merry Christmas
That's a gorgeous compressor. Maintain the filters and it should last forever.
Rotaries are a huge improvement over recips in their relative quiet.
That blaster is an extremely satisfying thing to see at work!
That is indeed a nice bit of kit. ( I am starting to talk Aussie) Friday morning has been forever changed. CEE and a cup of java. You've been up for 6 hours, 112486 views and 1042 comments. You guys are easily headed for a million subscribers and deservedly so. Thank you for all vids this year, it s been great sharing 2023 with the whole team.
Yes we'll be investing in the magna flux kit in the new year!
That a pretty cool sand blaster. Using the water. At least it's not made in China. Japan turnes out some good stuff. Great video.
That is so cool! That was the last missing piece I hoped you'd add to the arsenal. Glad you finally did. 👌👌
slick new tool - it will make your work required, easier and the finished work look great
Wow Kurtis, that was impressive.
😂
In my career I’ve had the opportunity to contract with some AUS companies on several product development projects for the medical field and was always impressed by the dedication to quality and focus on the details that made the end product as good as it could be. No different with you two after watching all the videos! Must be something in the water or being stuck on an island… merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year!
Been using dustless blasting for several years now. I sub it out to a contractor for coating removal /prep.
Great investment for your business!
Merry Christmas to y'all.
WOW that is one kick ass piece equipment!!!! MOST IMPRESSIVE!!!!!
I love it when I hit pause and see I’m less than halfway through. Always happy to get to the end as the bloopers are always epic!
I'm so HAPPY for you Kurtis, a new sand blaster and well needed one, Dale
Awesome. I remember you saying a few years ago you’d like your own set up. Now the dream has come true. Congratulations.
Merry Christmas to you all and I wish you a healthy and prosperous New Year!!!! Cheers
At the Navy base where I was the facilities maintenance supervisor, we had an area sort of removed from everything else that we put up plywood walls to keep the garnet corraled in one place. It tends to get all over without anything to keep it from blowing about.
That's very nice. Basically a pressure washer that pushes an abrasive. Love it. Very nice Kurtis.
Wow! You got me sold... a nice quiet air pump with that kind of blasting...
