This is incredible. I remember promoting them back then for this album. Saw them open for Queens in Detroit and then an incredible show at Clutch Cargos. Seems a million years ago. He needs to tour again. Speaking of needs to tour again... Thomas has played guitar in She Wants Revenge for years now. Last time I saw them they played the into to "Here" as they came on stage.
so many of the lyrics are about disenchantment, ennui, and misanthropic tendencies that this whole performance comes across as a powerful confessional from Crosby to the audience. It's almost like he's daring them to notice, "hey, I'm singing about how fucked up I feel about the rest of you." Really great performance in so many ways, wish he could've afforded a live keyboardist to do the orchestral parts and provided more chorus vocals, since layering is such a huge part of what's amazing about those first two albums.still fucking fantastic
As I listen to each song, I almost wonder if there is a keyboardist or sample runner off stage, 'cause the musician's timing is so dead on with the key parts, maybe there's someone cranking that shit live in time with them.
