J.A PCMR @Bojun Choi @Delimon007 Woosh... My comment apparently flew over most people (woo! As an aerospace engineer I finally got something to fly, lol!). Keyword was “well”, I’m aware my Titan Xp could run raytracing at a cinematic (or photographic...) 3 fps, and yes, even quake from just after the DOS days when people were aiming with keyboard number pad still makes a Titan RTX crawl on its knees with Ray-tracing enabled. I was making a satirical comment about the new gen RTX cards, you’ll probably spot it now, apparently it was a bit less obvious than I meant to make it though. May your resolution be high and frame times low, cheers!

Just shows their greed, I will not buy from Ngreedia no matter what. They would have to compete with AMD in cost to performance to actually persuade me to consider green team. Why would I get any of the 1080ti clones when I can get a 5700XT and overclock it, I save at least 100 dollars! When the 5800 comes out, hopefully this year, I really don't see how nvidia will do anything useful.

@@H4444-f7g AMD isn't really weak in my opinion, but Nvidia doesn't have competition after the 2070 Super and they're capitalizing on the lack of competition. It's messed up in a way but it's business so you can't complain too much.

@Thomas Foster Yes it is worse. The AMD RX 590 had the same issue. It was just an overclocked RX 580 which was an overclocked RX 480. Some cards have the headroom for it some don't. People want high clocks even when they don't make sense and they'll pay extra for it.

Radeon VII in all honesty should be in the build. 1TB bandwidth with 16gb of HBM2. A new and improved 3 fan design. and was going to DESTROY Nvidia's 2080...... It came out at the same price as a 2080, was slower than a 2080 and ran hot and loud stock. AND to top it off.....discontinued in 6 months because AMD came out with a cheaper card that can beat it.
the one thing I wanted him to answer is the one thing he DIDN'T whats the overclocking headroom look like? he basically said "stock it meets up mostly with your overclocked 2080" thats great, but who the fuck runs a GPU at stock?
@@LukewarmEnthusiast tbh I can understand why AMD released it, can't understand why anyone would want it. Cheap card for them as otherwise the chips would have been binned, as in thrown away, as they are no more than 'failed' Instinct MI50 CPU dies so they are a nice little earner.
The 5700XT is an incredibly good card, even though the price is a bit high for a midrange card. But equipped with an aftermarket cooler or a waterblock this little card is on the heels of a 2070Super. That's not bad, since the NV card is significantly more expensive. :) Also it seems that you still cant memOC it because the drivers still don't allow for that. So there's even more hidden potential in it. I can't wait for bigNavi, RTG finally is on a good track. :)
@@pedromars8508 As long as we can both agree and understand that AMD had "high" end gpus at NVIDIAS mid range pricepont. That I think is the misconception.
Here’s my problem. I get that this card is over priced and is not that much different from a 2080 or even a 1080ti just in terms of non RTX performance. But some people, me included are just building their pcs and don’t have access to a 1080ti and would obviously want to get a 2080 Super because it costs the same even if it is a small performance gap. However, there are no good reviews of this card because everyone is pissed at the performance compared to a 2080.
"For one will scarcely die for a righteous person-though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die-But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." -Romans 5:7-8
I got myself a 1070ti last year after the price went down, i was upgrading from r9 280 lol, i got it because the 1080s were waaaaay too overpriced, something like over 600€ so 1070ti were the best bang for the buck and i basically have a 1080 for way cheaper, i think it was ~300€
The 1070ti was very exciting to many, a dream card for miners. The power efficient 1080 core, but with the much better for mining GDDR5! It blows away even my Titan Xp collectors edition in terms of the hash power for the then popular mining algorithms, and yet it used half the power! It was as if Nvidia made a card specifically for miners, and so it sold very well, although everything was being sold out back then (I bought a Titan Xp because number one: I’m a nerd and Star Wars fan, and number two: it was the only card at MSRP and actually cheaper than all but the 2 worst 1080ti models.... Mining demands took all the cards back then, and I sure didn’t want a $120 GT1030 potato for 4k gaming!)
Wait, did anyone actually buy the 1070Ti lmao! Why buy that, when you can buy a 1080 that does the same shit, except it's not overclocked, and can probably be overclocked if you want to but if not it'll last a hell of a lot longer than a 1070Ti, so it's basically useless af. The 2080 Super is actually an upgrade at least and is lower than the price of a 1080Ti unless you buy used.
What's crazy is how far ahead the 2080ti is compared to everything else. For me that says that nvidia is just going to keep milking it for a while yet with cards which slowly close that gap. Really need AMD to come up with something of note to bring those prices down.

@@gcur You really do not get much performance gain out of 7nm. Mainly just smaller chips and better power consumption. They might actually loose per core performance but they can fit more cores. Which is exactly what AMD is going to do soon. Add more cores. Vega has more cores than the 5700xt. This was just a means to compete in the price range most people buy while they work on better yields. The people buying in that price range generally upgrade often anyway if the gain is good.
