1987 Woolies Pre-season Final - Brothers v Norths

Arch-rivals Brothers and Norths met many times throughout the 1987 season and this would be their first encounter - the Woolies Pre-Season Final at Lang Park. Brothers beat Ipswich and Norths edged out Wynnum-Manly in the mid-week semis to progress to this match. Norths' win over Wynnum came at a cost with several players copping injury and missing the final, including prized off-season recruit Greg Dowling.
