    My Dad surfed with those guys and I spent a fair amount of time in the Pit growing up; Johnny picked me up when I was 15, yep, that's disgusting but I was a dumb starstruck beach babe; he had to be 35 or more. Those were the days when surfers were, um, wild. Great stories and great memories, for sure.

    I don't know Johnny Fain the person, but I always loved his surf style. Don't remember the name of the movie, but he was featured in some surf film I saw as a freshman in college and he was easily the most stylish.

    mickey didn't like anybody...he and johnny fain just did that schtic for the audience @ Malibu.

    Never met the guy but various fraud to support the cool beach life style is enough to make me have write the guy off as not my surf legend role model......
