In terms of voiceover, I wish this show had offered more narration, like what you’ve written, than all of the internal monologue we’ve been subjected to, leading up to the series finale. It felt lazy & devoid of self-awareness. I mean “have a nice life?” Did the writers just give up? True, it was impossible to keep consistent dialogue with writers being fired, or resigning on a daily basis...but that doesn’t mean the plot development HAD to suffer. It’s annoying when a series ends on a cliffhanger, too. Like, what does “The vets have given us the VA” even mean? He references the “tax cuts” from season one, but doesn’t mention that they only really helped the wealthy, and people who own private jets? He didn’t even bring up his trade war & tariff increases that cost every family an average of $2500 more per year when making the same purchases they typically make. That seems important. Obviously he had to remind us that things would have been amazing if China hadn’t purposely caused a world wide pandemic, but we were expecting that. I wasn’t surprised AT ALL when he laid the groundwork for the Biden spinoff....reminding everyone that we’ll be seeing fantastic things right away, but only because the success of his show provided the framework & the audience. I mean....I’ll definitely watch the Biden show, but not 24 hours a day, every day. It won’t consume every day of my life. I’ll probably just check in for a re-cap once a week and get all of the information I need. Which is good, I’m going to have a lot more time on my hands because I won’t be hiding in my bed, crying all the time. The end was just weird though....”Goodbye, we love you...” then “we’ll be back in some form?” What? And then “Have a good life...we’ll see you soon!” If you’ll see us soon, it’s weird to say “have a good life,” right? Anyway, I’m glad it’s over. That show sucked.
