Inktober 2018 - Day 5 - Van Life Edition

- Inktober Day 5 was definitely a busy one! We started off the morning with a lot of normal van life related chores - filling up our water tank, emptying the pee jar, grocery shopping, but after we were done with all the tasks that make living on the road possible we arrived to a mysterious misty location and had a wonderful afternoon/evening of drawing, chatting with new friends, and walking along the beach.
In the video, I talk about the book, "The Women Who Run with Wolves" with our friend Ariel Bisset -- / arielbissett
Also I just want to say thank you for all the support of my Inktober experience. It is really so much fun to pour myself entirely into the drawings each and every day. So grateful October is a month with 31 days, so I get the most opportunity to keep practicing!
Big hugs,
Dana (& Lou)

MUSIC
30 Day Free Trial for Epidemic Sound - share.epidemics...
Switching to Epidemic Sound - a royalty free music library - for all our videos has been such a gamechanger. Many of our most viewed videos on our channel ended up with copyright claims and no longer can make any ad revenue. This was actually a substantial part of our RUclips income stream and we can't get those claims removed even though we received full authorization from every artist to use their songs. If you make RUclips videos this is an amazing way to no longer fret about whether or not you will get demonetized!!!

It is truly an attribute when one can find the beauty in all things large and small. Stay true to your heart and it shall lead your journey. Thank you for sharing. 💐
Here I am watching this series for the 3rd time in 2 years, smiling and crying in the bathtub drinking beer in my 3rd lockdown... Slowly but surely converting my own van (when the weather permits), hoping to one day soon be able to be in these places breathing in the sun and sea.
Hope you two are having a great time in your winter series build. Much love from Scotland ❤️
Virtual hugs for sure to both of you for touching my heart ♡
Great poetic storytelling with this one. You guys always take me on a journey!
You guys put a huge smile on my face when ever I watch your videos. Your both come across so kind and genuine and you are honestly such an inspiration. Thank you!
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful comment Stef! So happy you can connect with our videos on such a deep level. Hope you're having a beautiful weekend xx - Dana
Wild We Roam awh yeh! thanks!
Magical and the musics played took me away...love your videos ❤️
Container for fresh water is blue. Container for pee is.........blue. Don't get those two mixed up! :D
The archway drawing is awesome! You're right about sketching in pen, it would be so much easier in pencil but, like you said, it's about moving forward no matter if a mistake is made. You go over it or adapt. Besides, drawing in pen is much more satisfying.
Beautiful video, guys.
Waw the foggy/cloudy mountain looked like a scene out of Howl’s Moving Castle ❤️ magical video, as usual :)
I'm always a little happier at the end of these videos than I am at the beginning
Your videos are so calm and beautiful, I love your voiceovers Dana.
You have also inspired me to start drawing again. I stopped after going to design college and lost the love of art because of being surrounded by all the digital.
Thank you guys!
Typical misty days of transition from Summer to Autumn in Portugal. Soon cool days are here and the rain with it
I've followed Ariel since 2015 - how neat that you know each other! I forget sometimes how RUclipsrs connect with other so I probably shouldn't shout "small world!" P.S. your videos are true treasures.
Love your channel I’m hooked what a beautiful way of live x
Dana is fulfilling my dream of drawing while I travel the world. The drawings are so beautiful.
Women who run with wolves is one of my FAVORITE books! I'm so excited to listen to this podcast now and also check out Ariel's channel!
Well done you with the drawing!!! I feel same way about drawing with the just keep going as there is no way back and takes away the perfection which turns out to be the best as takes out myself...catching the moment rather then super real perfection...I love sour drawings keep going eve; now when inkoctober is long gone 😉
And funny thing about the book...I have it in my shelf for some time now as I took it from friend who was getting rid of staff but never started reading it although picked it up on few occasions it just never felt like being right time to do it yet...it does now...once I saw your video talking about the book it just clicked and right time came now ☺️ thanks 🙏❤️
Beautiful video! and your drawings are beautiful, Dana! ❤️
I am absolutely falling more in love with you guys with every video. The words as you climbed the foggy hill were beautiful. Your cinematography is always captivating. Your journey is so inspirational. Please never stop being you. Thank you.
beautifully filmed, very poetic, well composed in every sense of the word. Thanks fr sharing.
Beautiful. I was feeling a bit down before watching this video and my mood has almost totally changed after. Thanks so much
I'm always a little bit sad when your videos end because I enjoy them so much! I love your drawings Dana and your videos Lou. They bring me joy! I love that arch! I can't draw for the life of me but I do like to take photos and I so wished I was there while watching your video because I wanted to capture it on camera. I love to read too and although not much of a fantasy fan I will check out that book as well. Thanks for another great video!
The music was perfect for the video really added a lot.Keep up the great work. Love your drawings.
You two are awesome! I wish I had the courage when I was your age to travel to all the beautiful places! Such memories you will have. Love your videos
Loving the inktober series! Best one so far. Love the story telling and voice over
Did either of you two study film making or learn it professionally? All your videos are so incredibly well put together and beautiful! Also Dana you inspired me to start drawing the houses here in Amsterdam where I live. I turn my phone off and just sit for an hour at a time drawing the lovely architecture here. I find it so relaxing 😘
Love the drawings you draw very well.
Those shots of Dana at the beginning sitting at her little table remind me of a child in detention being made to do homework. lol
You tell the most beautiful story ❤️
I’ve only just discovered your videos and had to comment to say how beautiful they are. We’re also living in a van in Europe and are so excited to head to Portugal later this year. Your videos make it look amazing!
Your vlogs make me miss the sea so much.

I LOVE this places! Foz do Arelho is amazing, calming and S.Martinho's dune is very fun.I stayed here the past year and I hope back again.
I don't know if I missed you addressing this, will you do a sketchbook tour at the end? I'd love to see the sketches inbetween videos :)
Absolutely loving your Inktober! x

Goshh, I feel like I learn something every time I finish watching videos from you guys! I really loved what you said at 8:10.
Great video! Thanks for showing us how you sketch scenery.
OMG so good to hear that bit about that book" Woman who run with the wolves", I have tried to read it but although it related to me a little I found it SOO hard to read. Thanks for the advice, I will now just preserve through the book and hope it works. BIG fan btw!

Love your videos, please keep them coming 👍
Two things jumped out today as I watched the video, first so relieved you said that the book was hard to get into, I am struggling on the first two chapters....downloaded another book so I could cheat and rotate between my new book on Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less and the one you recommended. The second was how beautiful the country is.... wow I want to go sailing there. Beautiful picture Love you guys
Love this, really inspirational
Loving this series so much! :)

Wild We Roam I loved it.
is this still in the Peniche area? I'm really glad to see you enjoying my beautiful beautiful country :D keep up the amazing work that you do, love your videos!
was "Run down the dune if it calls" a quote from something that you followed up on yourself? I was drawn to that statement for it's poeticism (if that's a real word?) and rewatched the sketching sequence several times before I watched further and saw that you proceeded to actually run down a dune..
💙
Gah thank you for watching already!!! Making my day with these quick comments :) - Dana
The drawing turned out soooo lovely ahhh! Loved the video, it really inspired me
Are people more friendly in Spain and Portugal than US?

The pee jug and the water jug are the same color and size.
This could cause a horrible mistake.
