That's what happens when you guys are not doing your job. I saw cops out at 10:00pm but when 12 midnight hit there were no cops in sight to enforce the illegal aerials. Take responsibility and be accountable.
The sheer amount that u see in the air last night and every year Is the example how the state fails from stopping them in threw the port of entry. That is the real problem here. . Could see missing 10% of smuggling in not caught , but possibly million of dollars worth.. people can't buy what they can't get.... focus attention to customs and port authority
The things you fail to see though is the logistics of would take to open and inspect every item coming in every container. That'll surely be easy right?
Hawaii lawmakers made it difficult to purchase safe consumer fireworks by banning sparklers and fountains and imposing a permit requirement for firecrackers. As a result, many people turned to the black market, which primarily sells dangerous, professional-grade pyrotechnics.
These state leaders and lawmakers just don’t get it! When you prohibit something, it fuels the underground black market. They need to make firecrackers more accessible, like they used to be in the past, when we could purchase them at the wooden shacks. It was easy, and illegal fireworks weren’t as prevalent. Our state created the problem through prohibition. Just relax the permits and fees, and make it easier for us to enjoy popping firecrackers and lighting sparklers for our kids. Things will die down naturally.
Should have never happened? Lack of enforcement caused this. Is this really Hawaii "culture"? Sad. This is overshadowing the numerous fingers and hands that were blown off last night, too.
@@MikeyA5693banning it would reduce the use. Not saying it would totally cease. It’s already banned so legalizing aerials would result in more accidents.

Wasn’t there some HPD task force that we spent a bunch of money on who was supposed to take care of stuff like this?
Money in their pocket without any effective result.

They were busy blowing their own illegals

@donbrown1284 so they put the firework cake on a flimsy folding card table instead of the ground where it's supposed to be??

You open Pandora's box of aerial firecrackers when you ban fireworks.
