This is a wonderful tutorial, thank you. If we wanted to make the squares bigger, would we just repeat the pearls in subsequent rows until we've reached the size and then put on the corner row?
@@melsmerk9262 Hi Mel, I haven’t tried that myself yet. I’ll make one up soon and see what the count is to add more rows of puffs and video that soon. If you check my 2nd and 3rd Sunflower Cushion videos I do cover adding more rows after the initial square row but not adding more puffs and leaves. Let me try that out and keep an eye out for that tutorial. Thanks for watching. I hope to see your again. Greetings from Australia. 🐨🦘

The yarn is beautiful . Id love to have some of all the colors used . I wish i get some or something close to it ,any recommendations?
@@melissadunkling7010 Hi Melissa, thanks for watching and commenting. I dyed these skeins myself. I’m only new to dyeing but maybe next year I will make some to sell. If you do a search for ‘hand dyed yarn’ where you live you might find some in the colours you love. Keep a watch on my Instagram page @crochetcavalier in the new year and if I can I will dye more in these colours. 🌼🌻🌸

What yarn has been used in all those blankets, please? Love all your yarn. The yarn used in the pillows is beautiful. Do you sale.
@@lunah5668 I use different yarns in my blankets. Mostly bought here in Australia. Spotlight, Lincraft. The big ones that are different colours are from Bendigo Woollen Mills online for multi coloured yarn or if I blend thinner yarns they are from a lady in Melbourne online at Spinning Yarns Weaving Tales. Knit Picks online also. I also order from Wool Warehouse UK for acrylic yarns. The yarn in the cushions here are dyed by me. I’m not currently selling yarn but hope to start soon. 🧶🧶🧶
I absolutely love your dyeing !!! I'd be tickled pink to buy some of your dye-work ... I'm in Prahran: where are you ?
@@m-rstringer3750 when I dye more to sell I will ship locally within Australia. I’m in Qld. Keep an eye on my Instagram account if you’re on there. I put most of my content on there. It’s @crochetcavalier
@@CrochetCavalier Okey dokey, will do !
When joining with the sc, do you go under both legs of the v's on the tops of the stitches?
@@Fireweed108 yes that’s correct. I go through all 4. Both legs of the front square and both legs of the back square. You can go through just the back loops and that will give you a different look on the front. I’ve done that before too and it looks quite nice. Thankyou for asking so I could clarify. I will cover that again in a future video that I’m just editing now. 🌸🌺🌻
Beautiful!!! Can you tell us what type of yarn (fiber, weight, etc)?
@lilidundi sorry I should have done that. I think I did say in the tutorial but maybe I wasnt clear enough. I really wasn’t expecting so many people to like it. I’m overwhelmed. I used an 8ply (DK) weight 100% merino wool for the two cushions I made. But, you could use an acrylic or cotton of the same weight. I dyed this yarn myself. The yellow cushion was made from 100% Merino wool I got from Nundle Woollen Mills in Australia. The peachy one was Four Seasons 100% pure wool from Spotlight Stores Australia. I purchased an off white yarn and then dyed them myself. I hope that helps. Thankyou for bringing that to my attention. I’ll add a note in the description section for others. Hook size is 4mm and the cushion insert for a 16 squares cushion is 22cm x 22cm.
@CrochetCavalier Thank you so much for the information. Hope you can show us a future video on yarn dyeing with such beautiful colors!!!
Lili I do have a video of yarn dyeing. Have a look. I’m not sure how to tag you in the video on YT. I’ll try to make some more videos too. I just dyed some greens and pinks yesterday with my daughter who is here for the holidays. She wants two cushions so we dyed up some yarn for them.
@CrochetCavalier Thank you!
@@lilidundi Lili Im just making a tutorial on my yarn choices and I’ll pop in another yarn dyeing video too. Keep an eye out hopefully in the next few days. 🌸🌺

@@CrochetCavalier My maternal grandmother crocheted a comforter for me years ago. It is one of my most cherished gifts. My paternal grandmother crocheted a gorgeous round tablecloth, of the finest white yarn, for me for my wedding. Both of them are long gone, but each time I see these loving gifts it fills me with such joy. Thank you for stirring those memories. I’m 70 and I have one son. He has one daughter. I hope to gift these treasures to her before I leave this beautiful world. Bless you dear woman. May you have a wonderful new year and life.
@ this is such a beautiful memory for you. Thankyou for sharing it with us. I have a pair of crocheted gloves that my paternal grandmother made back in the 1930s. They are my treasure. I hope your granddaughter will cherish the things you make also. Thankyou for watching and commenting. 🌺🌼🌸
I love this sunflower pillow, but I am also fascinated by a pillow on your sofa pictured at the point you had "put your feet up" inserted on the screen. I can't tell if it is embroidered. The pillow in front on the left side of the sofa.
@@renabritnell5497 Hi Rena, thankyou. The cushion you mean is the duck egg coloured one in our sunroom. I bought that one. It is embroidered. It comes in a few different colours. It’s from Spotlight Stores Australia. I got it a few years ago now. I have seen it in store still but it’s not showing up online.
When you’re joining the squares, and you going thru both loops of of each stitch, or only the back loop of front stitch and front loop of back stitch?
@@BarbParrett Hi Barb, thanks for your question. Im going through all 4 loops. Both loops of the front square and both loops of the back square. I’ve just made a second tutorial which I’ll upload later today hopefully and I’ll show that joining method again and make sure I mention that. Thankyou for bringing that to my attention. I’m still new at the whole video thing. 🌸🌺🌸

What about an alternative yarn?
Yes any 8ply or DK weight would work. Or you could do a different colour for each round. The peach one was just an 8ply yarn I bought from our local craft store. It wasnt an expensive yarn. It was on sale for $2.00 a ball. It was a neutral off white colour and I dyed it myself. But, you could use an acrylic or cotton or whatever you have available where you live. I hope you enjoy trying it and I’d love to see what you make. 🦋🦋🦋
