Plus all my perks with Hertz as a platinum card holder. Thats 9,800 MR points for a 300 dollar car rentalThat is literally unreal value... Getting about 2 cents per point would mean that got $196 worth of points on a $300 dollar hertz rentalSo glad that I waited just a bit to book this rental JEEZ!

Is it better to shop directly from Aeroplan estore, which gives points (depending on the vendor) or is it better to go through Rakuten to get Amex point and transfer those points to Aeroplan points.. hmmm I usually use Rakuten when the vendor is not available on the Aeroplan estore but didn't know Rakuten had Amex point instead of cash back! No, you can charge the actual purchase with a different card on the retailer's webpage (which Rakuten will redirect you to), but set the "cash back" option to link to your Amex card. You have to make sure go thru Rakuten though, or have their plug-in extension installed on your web browser if you don't go through Rakuten to alert you of a website that has a cash back deal with Rakuten.

@@bryansc5 which hotel chain do you prefer? And which cities do you plan to use the points. In some cities IHG points go further while others Marriott points go further. Overall I think they are pretty close it’ll really come down to your travel preferences and where you plan to travel!

Right about 3 minutes into the video he shows how for a new rakuten account. If you already have one and are having trouble, Google search it. I had trouble but found the direct link there.

The American Express option doesn’t show up for me after I connected with PayPal 🤷🏻♂️ logged out and back in too.

Rakuten can only earn amex points. Chase has their own shopping portal if you log into your Chase Ultimate Rewards portal there’s a shopping portal
When you return an item...how does rakuten know? Is it based on order number and returned to the card used?
I think it’s based on what the retailer reports back to Rakuten. I wouldn’t play that game lol

Is it possible to stack Rakuten dining and AA dining? I know United, Delta, and AA use the same dining provider but not sure about Rakuten.
